  1. *yawn* wut happened? (jokes aside) I didn't realize I had this many friends here, and although I was a bit pissed when the spamming started to happen on the ban appeal, I appreciate that this thread was created and received so much attention. It means a lot guys, thanks. Always keep it civil guys, and remember to operate operationally. And on a final note, I still went along with Black Jacket and Saving Private Brandenburg, so I'll have some other events up soon. I still have to speak to a few admins here on TS before I can really do anything, so hopefully we can all get back on schedule sooner or later. Operate Operationally Ladies and Gentlemen. -Liru
  2. In-game name when banned: Liru the Lance Corporal Why do you think you were banned? Someone else advertised during an event I was hosting, and thus I'm allegedly responsible. That's the best that you could ever do. Why (in your personal opinion) should your ban be lifted? *cracks knuckles* I'm not going to lie, the day Origins posted that question about Redguard, I knew this was coming. I didn't know how or when it was going to happen, but I know that you guys were looking for a reason. I've been squeaky clean here, with no priors, no kicks, no reason to have a negative thing said about me. I was even going for the Spartan rank, and figured the best way to do that would be to host events to show that I could use Zeus efficiently and effectively to make things more enjoyable to the players. When I first came here, I sent two messages through the forums asking how to host operations like Luetin09 utilizing EU 4 or EU server, seeing this guide and wondering how I could do so: http://forums.ahoyworld.net/topic/5186-how-to-host-an-event-on-ahoyworld/ No replies, and when I asked admins about how to host events they just told me to ask through the method I was using. A week went by and I received no responses, and by the end of that week the forums had achieved a new look and domain so I decided to utilize the other path mentioned in the post above: using my own server. No one spoke against it for weeks until this whole "unofficial" mess started up, and now we're here. I was eventually offered EU 5, but here's how it played out: http://imgur.com/a/kYZnk No response from David after that, so I guess he was just holding it above my head like a prize either to torment me about it or encourage me to keep doing what I was doing and maybe I'll be able to use EU 5. I dunno anymore... Simply put: Did I advertise anything? No. Have I been doing these for a while and had no word from the admins about it since roughly 7 days ago? Nope. Should I be unbanned? Absolutely, but I know you won't because you're using flawed logic that's absolutely hypocritical from what I've heard. So Here's where Liru get's to call you out: Put your evidence here, in this ban appeal: show me what I did wrong for your entire community to see. Show Luetin09, show your EU 3 mods, show your field ambassadors, show your AW members, and show new people how you run your community. If you thought Brandenburg's appeal got a lot of attention, just wait till this is posted. To quote myself: "Let's see how this all plays out." I know you're all in TS waiting for this appeal... to censor it or to edit what I say like you have previously in my threads, I do not know, but I have time on my side. When I joined Ahoyworld, I was looking for a place to belong. I saw Luetin's missions, I did a bit of research on the forums, I thought this was a good place. After the clock ran by and I continued my research, I learned of a much more dark part of this place... The staff were feared, not respected, and if they didn't like you they would go on a witch hunt to find a reason to take you out, as evidenced by this post and previous people who have been sniped before me... So come on Muckduck, take point here and give your squad leader Liru some more feedback. I did appreciate it on Friday's Luetin09 mission, and it was an honor to serve over you, and I'm always open for more feedback. I guess i'm not getting that Spartan rank after all ehh? That's alright though. And to everyone on the sidelines, you have an upvote button and a comment button. If you want to speak with me over all of this, feel free. This effects anyone who likes my missions after all! I've also copied this entire ban appeal, word for word, and if anything is edited, I will let everyone know... Ohh, and one more thing. If my research is accurate, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND that the core staff review their administration team. A few weeks ago I did some digging to see if a rumor was accurate, and holy shit was I surprised to see what I saw with some people being in other gaming communities... P.S. Well played Zissou, changing your name and joining the event with your mike off. Honestly if you guys wanted me to stop hosting events, maybe you could just ask next time instead of causing this massive scene Which administrator banned you (if known): David himself When were you banned: 5:30 Eastern Standard Time 7/24/16
  3. Will there be a similar refined process for Spartans? I ask simple because over the past few weeks there has been a lot of questions by many (and thanks goes to @Chuck Norris for answering them all ) and it would be great to see some new names in the Spartan list, especially since we only have 2 right now, I believe.
  4. It will be on EU 5, and be sure to be on the teamspeak!
  5. Damnit option 7 was supposed to be a joke and you all actually voted for it...it defeats the point of a poll if you make me have the final say! (lol) I need to stop making these at 4 am while i'm working! So I've been talking with some of y'all in TS and using this poll data and I've decided that one of the operations will have one of the following titles: Saving Private @D.v.Brandenburg (or not) More details to come in the aftermath of Redguard tomorrow! (keep voting, I need my second idea)
  6. Yea, shoot me, I'm having that dilemma again: I HAVE TOO MANY IDEAS AND NOT ENOUGH TIME, so ONCE AGAIN I turn to you guys! Simply put, the poll is multiple choice and I have descriptions for everything. I'm trying to host 2 of them a week BUT there are SO MANY CHOICES!!! Descriptions 1. (Convoy) Operation Ironhide: It's a convoy mission to get a Tempest transport with a Device from point A to point B on Tanoa. Expect a ground team of infantry to command, an EOD team, and some vehicle crews for a Marshall and Cheetah. There will be FOBs to restock ammo, repair vehicles, and collect respawns (if your timer runs out, medics can still bring you back) It will be a good test of teamwork, and as usually I won't make it unfair, but rather an interesting challenge! I'd need 18 sign ups minimum (which should not be a problem <3) and can easily make more room! 2. Black Jacket mission 4: If you played in Operation Baywatch, it's going to be like Baywatch, but with multiple freaking levels, kind of like that Oil rig assault mission from CoD MW2. I would only need 12 players minimum, but I can easily make room for more. If you don't know what Baywatch is, have a quick glance at this (The thumbnail is enough to get my point across): 3. PvP+E Operation (Operation Clean Sweep): NATO must assault a Guerilla held area and clear it while a small elite CSAT team makes their job a living hell... We've done plenty of testing with this category and I think it's finally time to give it an "official" operation, no hands barred, no limits to NATO or CSAT, just let them operate as they would in any other operation and let the carnage ensue. NATO would be NATO and CSAT would be an elite NON VIPER strike team. The ratio of units would be 1 CSAT Player to 4-5 NATO players, and roles would be first come first serve. I would need 16-20 NATO players and 3-4 CSAT Players. 4. Freedom: The Police campaign: With the addition of Police forces, it really got me thinking of having this type of a campaign to do multiple different types of operations in a country but with limited equipment and a few mods for added items such as riot shields and advanced movement. Teams would be 4 man fire teams, a leader, 2 riflemen, and a medic. One of the riflemen would be a dedicated point man with a riot shield and such, and we could have custom roles such as the overall commander being the Police chief and a hostage negotiator, there's plenty to expand on here! 5. Escape Tanoa 2.0: Simply put, I was playing Escape Takistan with some old friends a few days ago on Arma 2, and since I'm lazy with scripting, why don't I just recreate the mission Zeus style as well as allow for more than 6 players compared to the usual escape operations, and make a massive PoW escape! (#[email protected]_behind!...maybe...) 6. Stealth Operations (Operation Bluefin): After spending 2 hours making Operation Redguard and experimenting with AI and movement, I thought: "Why not a true stealth operation?" Since space would be limited to 1-2 squads, if lots of people sign up, I could change it into some sort of competition of which squad completes the objective first to promote some friendly non PvP competition, and make a standard operating procedure of "if this happens, then I react by doing this" and so on. It would be very interesting! 7. Liru, relax, surprise me: Leave the decision to me, and after walking around catching Pokémon for 8 hours, i'll just go into my Blackbox setup server and set up something. It might be one of the 6 options mentioned above, it might not be (though 90% chance it will be one of the 6 unless I'm out of it) Right, those are the choices! Vote as many times as you wish and leave a comment or something! I'll finalize the results this TUESDAY (the 26th) and start prepping next weeks, though if I see an overall winner or two by Sunday, I think it'll be clear with what i'll be hosting! Ohh, right, this is all 'Unofficial" BUT I've been told I MIGHT be able to host these things on EU 5. Emphasis on the *might* part, it's a work in progress Thank you all so much for your help and support by signing up for my missions, it truly puts a smile on my face when I see the sign up rosters... -Liru
  7. I'd say it depends on how you organize communication. If squads are formed within the teams and they're coordinating with each other, smokes would be good for making concealment to cover an advance, block an enemy's LoS, mark a large group of enemies, and can be used per squad as they coordinate with their smoke grenades and make some very interesting gameplay! However, as discussed earlier, if everyone's just forced to use direct chat, there's not really a point for smokes because everyone will just be using them for themselves, and with that much smoke going around you could potentially have a lag issue, so smokes might not be the best idea. It depends how our Core Staff organize the game night Just my two cents.
  8. As an American, I thank you for your service to our country. Let me get you prepped with everything you need to know: Rules and standard operating procedure: Mod repositories via Arma3sync for EU 1 and 2 (your standard casual servers which is the public add-ons that are optional) and EU 3 (which is the modded server) If you search "Ahoy" in your search bar in Arma and give it a moment, all EU servers will appear, and they are as follows (or you can go on our teamspeak and their IPs will be in the server channel descriptions): EU1: Altis running Invade and Annex: casual spawn in a base and attack random objectives spawning on the map EU2: Tanoa running Invade and Annex EU3: Modded operations running Gauntlet which operates like Invade and Annex with random spawning objectives, but the mods and teamspeak usage is REQUIRED EU4: Luetin09's private gaming servers where he hosts operation every Friday and sometimes on Monday at 6 pm eastern standard time. Firdays operations are generally large ops while Monday operations are more tactical EU5: a server reserved for events. The next one will be this Sunday and it's a large scale arena PvP EU6: private server that is running with AHOSEC, Ahoyworld's millsim unit. It's currently still in the works but training days will soon start to be held on a weekly basis. For more information, look here: http://forums.ahoyworld.net/forum/103-ahosec/ TeamSpeak IP is as follows: 144.76.82.169 If you have any questions, feel free to contact me or one of the administrators. A list of who's in charge can be found in the following link: We also have weekly events here, both official and unofficial. Check the news and events thread for the official ones and the general discussion thread for the unofficial ones. I usually host the unofficial ones. Welcome to the community Lt Dan, and I'll see you in the field!
  9. Look's Like Jimbo's winning in the game on life Have a jolly good time man!
  10. As Pero said, not all classes can use the same weapons. For example, most 7.62 rifles are unusable for most classes with the exception of marksmen (because marksmen usually use 7.62 caliber DMRs and such in the field IRL). The same goes with LMGs and automatics being restricted to Auto riflemen , Titan launchers being reserved for AT Riflemen, etc. The same restrictions are put on longer range scopes, equipment such as tool kits and med kits, etc. Usually, when an item is removed, it will tell you what class it is restricted to, so if you want to use that item, switch to that class. Hope this helps
  11. Welcome to the community freeflow13! See you in the field!
  12. Welcome to the Ahoyworld Forums MightyLAD, and I hope to see you in events and across the field! Watch for CSAT! -Liru
  13. Ok guys, so I've refined everything slightly for the sake of artistic appeal, and am working on putting an arsenal in the main base, so CONSIDER THIS A BREIFING -You'll spawn in the north west corner of the island you are defending. This is where your ground vehicles, such as HEMMT based vehicles, cars, Marshall, and Pawnee spawn. Timers for vehicles will be set to 5 minutes, and player respawn timers will be set to a minute. Command squad's goals: pick a spot for your defensive artillery and a place that overlooks most of the island. Battle "Command" Tower 3, a tower that is at the center of the island on a large hill, is a good place to achieve this, and even has a good clearing right next to it for the Mortar to set up. The tower also has a .50 mounted towards the bridge, a titan AT pointed in the same direction, and AA pointed in the cardinal directions. Use them at your discretion, and make sure you let your forces know where the enemy is coming from. It could be from anywhere! Squad 1: You are the main defensive line on the bridge. Expect the unexpected, as to the enemy will throw all they have at you. Stick in cover and on high ground: the enemy will have mortars that you might consider coordinating with squad 2 on how to deal with them. You'll have static AT and .50 in place, as well as allied Tanoan police forces to assist you. They aren't trained for this style of operation, but they'll help where they can. Squad 2: Your placement is dictated by your commander because you are the Quick Response Force. If your commander wants you to reinforce the bridge, do so. If the Marshall needs ammo, get the HEMMT ammo and assist them. If a plane is heard overhead and you see parachutes, ask your commander if you are to go mow them down. If boats are sited, you're the force that is to move out and take care of them. There are two other smaller bases on the east and west sides of the map that have a .50, so use them wisely. Marshall Crew: The commander dictates what you do, but the command squad can override and give you a new directive. There's a firing position on overwatch on the bridge that could be quite useful, however expect the same rules as the QRF. CAS: You're only allowed to fire if the commander tells you to. No Lone Wolfing, no going rogue, only do what the commander asks of you. If the rules are broken, I will add AA assets and you're going to have a bad time. CSAT Sniper team: You know what to do... -After the mission "officially" begins, you'll have roughly 10 minutes to explore your island and set up a defensive protocol. If you join the server early, you're allowed to freely explore the island until first contact, but NOT step foot on the larger island (Put simply, if you do, you're guaranteed to encounter bandits) After first contact, you MUST report to your squad leader ASAP. -Remember the side objective is risk vs. reward, and only will become available to do roughly 10 minutes into the mission after the first wave of mortar strikes. -Brandenburg is the only one (other than some AI) that is allowed to wear a black beret. No one else may wear one, and Branden MUST wear one. Finish the job, and have fun!
  14. I wish more people took the time to make proper introductions like these, it really shows what diversity that's offered with this community! Welcome to Ahoyworld Auntystatic, and see you in the field, be it EU 1 or 2 or on one of Luetin's missions!
  15. So, I have to ask a few questions for clarity because I'm definitely coming and, with PvP, the #1 thing you have to organize is balance! 1. How will the teams be decided? If you have a team of xSniper, Shadow, Jockey, CobaltCat, Hoffie, Ezlann, Extra, etc. vs a group of new faces to Ahoyworld, I'll know who to put my money on to say the least... 2. What are the weapons that we will be using? Is it same per team or does everyone get the same gun? If everyone has the same gun then the weapons are balanced, but a lot of people try to ID by gun, so you might have a few accidental team kills vs. possibly using weapons that might give one team an edge. I know the 6.5 caseless caliber recently got a damage buff after Apex for example, so Nato's weapons might be a little underpowered in comparison. 3. What are our default loadouts? This is just for curiosity's sake 4. this could be up to a 30v30 scenario, which is freaking awesome, but how will communication work? Will we all be in a single squad or will it be direct chat only? What are the rules for ghosting, such as if you turn a corner and get mowed down, would you be able to tell your team where they are (hopefully not, that's a bit cheap :P) Thank you for your time, and I can't wait for this! -Liru
  16. Bigass post ahead: Ok guys, I have 6 images of the AO for you guys! Image 1: Behold, the unfinished bridge! The Tanoan Government will continue its construction after your operation Image 2: The manmade dam that's helped the Tanoan government artificially block waves and helped them with making the bridge... Image 3: Your defensive objective. This is one of the two support struts on the bridge. Defend them at all costs! Image 4: The main base and a preview of the support vehicles you have access to! Image 5: You won't be alone, the Tanoan government has dispatched a local police division to assist you! They've also set up some static MGs and titans to assist you in key positions! Image 6: There are smaller sub military bases on other sides on the island, as well as battle towers for a height advantage! Use them to your advantage!
  17. @xSniper1982 Yea I really need to stop making my posts and story boarding during my night job so I edit my stuff properly XD (edit: I can't English) there's a 3 hour difference and I don't mind pushing my start time back to accommodate David's event Besides, its FULL ON PvP, A RARE TREAT! Looking forward to playing this!
  18. ALRIGHT THE VIDEOS! It's in 2 parts because I had to try to fix something but couldn't and I assure you it doesn't take away from the action! Part 1 Part 2 Once again, thank you for everyone who participated!!!
  19. I would like to remind everyone to keep the personal stuff to themselves, and if there's something you need to discuss with someone else, please do so outside of my event threads. Keep it on topic guys Part 1 of the action has been uploaded, part two is still uploading and will take just a few more hours. Once again, I will link them in a future post when they're ready! If you have not already, sign up for Operation Redguard, there's only 7 slots left! Be on the lookout for a SECOND thread released by me today or tomorrow about another event regarding a modded and LIMITED SLOT Tanoan PMC campaign (Operation Black Jacket) where I will have 12 slots of 2 squads (6 men each) do missions 1-3. These slots will be slightly reserved, and i'll have a few requirements for this operation because DICIPLINE and COMMUNICATION will be critical in this.
  20. And then we have EU#5 which is also used for some events! Welcome to the community Blair, and I hope to see you both around the forums and in the field!
  21. I agree that we should start doing some communication based experiments, but Baywatch worked really well because, from my POV, I was able to listen in to what the squad leader and team leaders were saying on the long range network. We can try this method but I kind of do enjoy the light voice crackle from using command and side chat, but i'll leave the idea up to you guys! If you want one way or another, please post your opinion
  22. All right guys, that was honestly the best operation I've seen you guys do! Command did a good job, communication was good, all of the main objectives and 2/3 of the side objectives were finished...so now, let's go for perfection Here's the next operation. Ignore the "Unofficial" title, it's still happening regardless of who gives it what title. Sign up is in the post, and i'm hoping we can get everyone on board! It'll be a hardcore vanilla defensive operation! I hope to see you all there! and tomorrow i'll have the videos of the operation posted here so you can see how it all went down from my view! Operate Operationally ladies and gents -Liru
  23. Main base: bring whatever you need, ammo provided at the FOB. NATO weapons only, no thermals, no titans (you wont need them) stick to your class for gear, but the more OP I see you guys gear up as, the more stuff I'm throwing at you.
