  1. There are people saying there should be more restriction and that arsenal should be locked after x time etc.
    I really don't think it fixes anything, and it creates more problems than actual solutions (locked arsenal).

    What i do, and i think it should bo encouraged is literally just say, Were going out in 30 seconds, if you aren't here, you aren't coming. Done.
    I really can't see why so many people think having an open arsenal is such a problem, just leave people that sit at the arsenal, let them figure out why they shouldn't spend hours on their gear waiting for us to come back from an AO. 
    I really can't see the problem, also i don't often see people sitting at an arsenal for longer than 3-5 minutes anymore.

  2. This thread is going off the rails, and here we are calling each other out on everything they ever did. Id recommend closing it.
    I could say i saw quite a few of members/vet's/spartans/ambassadors/admins/ etc. say, do,  stupid stuff/disregard the rules etc., often with a reason, often not, yep, we all do it every now and then (recalling my stay in the community some year ago), and i have done quite a lot of that myself, I've learnt a little. In the end, it's a game, and yes i understand caring, discussing and enforcing the rules, but lets leave it a discussion please, because what this thread is becoming now is a war of "who has done more stupid shit" and how obviously everybody dislikes that. 


    I may not agree with all the rules and their enforcement, but at the same time, i understand them & the thinking behind them, and well, if i can't change them, i try not to break them more than twice a day. Also, im sure that the ahoy-world staff knows about what happened/happens and deals with it, we don't need to all be judges of that and express our dislike/hatred/spite in a forum thread, yes he broke the rules, yes there is a longer story behind it, and yes Ahoy dealt with it, really, it's that simple.
    But, as we all know, we aren't going anywhere with what is happening now, and id just like to ask everybody, to, please not hate each-other too hard, and if you really wan't to, at least do it in a fight-ring team-speak channel, in the end, it's just a game.
    Next time file a report and get on.

  3. Creators notes:

     

    - Every team has the same kind of setup: 2 assault teams, an AT and AA team and a Logistics team with the sides commander in it. All start with default equipment but keep on reading.

     

    - Respawns are unlimited (but do let the medics do their job). Both for personell and base assets. HOWEVER, every airfield may have some assets that WILL NOT respawn. 

     

    - Like said before, vehicles respawn. However, abandoned assets will remain there!

     

    - Factions listed were before conversion to AWE. They are USA (blufor) and Russia (OPFOR).

     

    - I'll be zeusing. Each commander may make requests to me for supplies every 10 minutes for supplies.

     

    - No ninja's please. You are allowed to hijack enemy radio's to listen in [emoji3]

     

     

    What about pilots, are they not there or are they just unlisted?

  4. The FOB are working like a charm, i love it, we had some great fun building and operating one, a few problems and ideas:

    A gate object to stop enemy soldiers, suicidal civ's etc. running in, preferably the one opening upwards, its the most FOB'like one.

    The rotation feature, i have no idea how that is supposed to work, i think we all tried to figure it out but we didn't manage to.

    If it's possible make all the big h-block walls be rotated 180 degree, now it spawns facing away from you, it would just be way more convenient. 
     

  5. I think it's a great idea, it will for sure clear things out, as of now almost always when we have two pilot teams there is a question from SL on long range "Which vortex is doing what again?" I think being able to assign Vortex or Talon callsign depending on the role is a brilliant way to make sure that it's easy to contact in the right asset.

    A huge + from me.

    I have to disagree with that, Arma is an all around combat game.

    It's not just the Vehicle bug. 

    It's an all around afterburner bug, when one of the jet pilots enables the afterburner. Instead of only the Jet getting the speed bonus, all vehicles get like +150% speed boost.

  8. Boats in general were very positively received by the community whenever ASL or PlatCo decided to use them as a way to get to the AO. But I have to agree that adding a mod just to get this single landing craft might not be very feasible. But maybe this will get the ball rolling and get squad leads to utilise boats as infil/exfil more.

     

     

    It is just too buggy, the general idea is nice in theory but in practice it creates more problems than solutions.

  9. At the MSO we had a "Logistics Mod" for that. Worked not that well.

     

     

    It wouldn't take away medevac, it would make it quicker. I'm talking about realistically placed FOB's, not in the AO, more like 2-3 km away from it, on big maps like Altis or Chernarus that would allow for constant operation without the need to come back for a rearm all the way to the Base.

  10. If it should be self building FOB I'd expect a bunch of Hesco Blocks spawn around with an exit, a little medical space, and a motorpool . I'd preeefer logi to have an option to put the Hesco's themselves, that can be done with scripts, kind of like basebuilding in different survival mods but less advanced

    1. I think stuff like this would actually promote the use of Logi. Especially if we actually use LOGI for troop transport instead of Vortex. If you give Logi something fun to do, there will be more people that would play the role.

     

     

     

    2. Server impact will be minimal. Only a few objects will be spawned in, especially if only one FOB at a time is possible

     

     

     

    3. Absolutely no mods are required to run something like this. Everything can be run with a simple script that uses the existing assets. Ive been playing around with code for a few days for my gamenight contribution and even i can now make a simple script like this.

     

     

     

     

     

     

    I love the idea of logi building FOB's, also even if that one AO ends, logi can build an FOB in a good position [a hill in the middle of the map etc] and then ressuply it by bringing in ammo and vehicles by heavy lift helicopter. I would honestly go logi 80% of time to build FOB's
