  1. Appreciate the compliments boys, looking forward to what you guys are coming up with!
  2. Time have shifted 30m up due to some personal stuff, but we`ll be rocking it hard around 7:30 GMT!
  3. I played in 2 different mill sim groups for a pretty long time. I know what your thinking :"This is no millsim! ".Im aware, but this is about gameplay experience. The first unit I joined was a third person one. So, as someone coming from gameplay like eu3 this was fine. I quickly heard A LOT of people saying the stuff Plant1ng is saying. I disagreed since I honestly found it a bit annoying to turn you head all the time, and not being able to see the guys around you etc. But these guys were playing fp for the immersion. When I joined the 2nd group(due to timezones) I learned they were f. P only. I thought about it and said to myself :"well, lets just try. After a week or so I felt like I could never go back. The amount of focus on your individual part of thr group in-game grew immense due to being reliable on your team, aswell as you environment. Your specific role became more important, aswell as the equipment your carrying actually played a role more. I can understand if you don't like f. P due to the different camera movement, there might be fixes for that idk. If you never tried playing a full game fp i suggest trying it out!
  4. I personally believe specific targeting of individuals who do this and from here on out a faster ptt force on these people is a far better lean way for both parties than takin away someone's freedom of the ptt button pressing. Its not fair for those who use it responsibly. First tackle the problem with the resources available. If that doesn't work we can look at the problem again. (my opinion) Small Tip: Are you in a briefing and your not talking yourself? Almost every "modern mic" has a build-in mute button. Use that sucker! Its a big help!
  5. Evem though I personally agree and disagree with many of you it's nice to see the community reflect on their wishes in such a big scale Huuray freedom of speech! As for Dwaynes statement about a "server vote" and guessing the outcome he is completely right imo, hoewever; EU#3 Is a step up in cohesion, teamplay, communication and coordination from EU#1.But I can assure you that 75%+ of players are originated from a eu1 environment(including me!), and they wanted something more which eu3 delivers. Dont forget the roots! It is of course different per player what that amount of "more" is. F.e :I like a more mill-sim like environment but I understand that many of you don't. The same goes for gear choosing. As some of you stated I think the best solution is indeed to try it out on key times, but with different options and variations to pick from. The honest truth is ; Do you want to go ham on your dress-up? Go to the other server. You will always have restrictions here. Mabey not set in stone, but verbally always. I believe theres a lean way.
  6. My suggestions and comment to previous comments; Don't forget to add certain features to the map design such as: 1.Graphic settings locked by mod so that everyone has same settings in game (is included in many tvt maps). 2.Spectator script. This one speaks for itself. It was great fun to witness the inevitable with the guys who were killed off without having to back out of the game. (this scrip is commonly used in EU#3). As for streaming, I don't think your going to back out and into Arma whilst playing against other players just to see with a minute delay if f. e Josh is hiding in the back of the crashed humvee. I think this community is old enough to play fair. Very exited, love the occasional TvT. A nice friendly but competitive get-away from thr usual.
  7. As Ryko said, Private groups in combination with other-than-english languages are a growing problem. I suggest anyone who sees this happening at the start of the mission(or even the middle of the mission, but its harder) to kindly notify them of the server rules, aswell as why the rule is in place. Give a valid argument, usually the folks get why the rule is in place. Wait, they don't listen/care/understand English? Report them, as multiple Mods posted above me. But... Stay civil
  8. Because its next Saturday, not this one. I was told from different sources that someone else was hosting this week + this mission is not yet ready for this week
  9. Welcome Jimmy! The Eu#3 Modded server is not at all whitelisted. Below you can find a link to the EU3 forum section, aswell as a How-To to get you started! EU3 Forum: HERE Mod install instructions: HERE Whilst you are installing I recommend you take a look at the in-depth server rules HERE and check out the Basic guide HERE. After you have installed you might run into some first-time issues. If thats the case, feel free to talk to anyone on the Teamspeak. I can assure you someone will help you out! Icy
  10. Every Team is essential for this scenario, only difference to Delta Team is that it's a 5 men team therefore the team leader reports to the command element and has different oriented objective(s). Just because A, B and C have 10 men does not meam they are less important in any way!
  11. Saturday Night Gamenight! Operation: Blue Dragon Time of operation start: 7:30 PM GMT Time of preparation: 7:00 PM GMT Type of gameplay: CO-OP Assault [Note; winter time, so it is now 1 hour later than usual standard time] Commander: Razgriz33 Click here to sign up! Storyline: The island group of Panthera is in the midst of continuing political and military instability. At the start of October `15 rebel forces assaulted the local military and police on the South-west Island and seized all control on the island. Intel reports show enemy forces reinforcing key points on the island including radio towers, fuel/ power stations and the airfield in the south. All these signs indicate that this rebel force is preparing to expand their control in the region. We will be there to stop them. Mission info; [More information will follow in the upcoming week] Preparation: All Squad Leaders will be briefed together to ensure mutual understanding of the plan. This is vital to the execution of the assault because if: F.E; Alpha fails to complete their objective, the other teams can and most likely will suffer from this indirectly. After the S.L briefing by command, the individual Squads will be briefed by their own SL before being phase 1 starts Phase 1 Insertion Phase 2: Planned Assault Phase 3 React to enemy movement Phase 4 Ex-filtrate This mission is particularly challenging for the Platoon commander and his Squad Leaders. Communications between the squads and their commander is key to success. Forces that will participate in the assault; Platoon Command & Staff Alpha Squad [FULL] Bravo Squad Charlie Squad Delta Team /QRF [FULL] Vortex 1 &2 Due to the AOs location there will be no Armoured units and no need to destroy any such vehicles with HAT. Game night Info: Load outs: Pre- set. Join in Progress: Allowed, but in a very controlled matter. Units will be deployed to the AO in waves, subject to commands approval. Re-spawning: allowed, but in a very controlled matter This mission is a custom mission. Experiences may vary greatly from player to player in comparison to the usual EU#3 game nights. Normal game night rules apply, if you can’t cope with waiting to get back into the area of operations or planning please do not join. As stated before, thread will be updated in the coming week!
  12. I`ve had the opportunity to play alongside some really good in-game commanders on different occasions (EU#3 and Mill-sim), and what mostly sticked with me from those experiences and what I tend to use myself as well ( along with Dakim and Ryko their points, so excuse me if I double any tips) were the following things; 1) Be decisive when you give your orders, and always have a argument to support this order. In real life, you don`t question a high ranked officer. Buuuuut, as you might be aware this is not the real military. Therefore, people in-game tend to ask ''Why?'' if they are unsure, dont agree or simply don`t like what you ask of them. Usually you can suss this in a nice way by argumenting your decision, so everyone's happy, hurraay! 2) Start with something your good at, and slowly (or fast, depending on your free time) move up your personal CoC. Solex mentioned this before, and I totally agree with him. You also mentioned you find it hard to be a Team Leader due to people blaming you for their in-game deaths. Unfortunately, this is always the case as a C.O in Arma, and if you want to be a good platoon commander you will have to know how to lead a fireteam! Perhaps ask (or just do it ) Plat. Commanders and Squad Leaders whom you like to run with them and listen in on their communications. You can learn a lot by just observing. 3) Change up the plan, pace & composition. This is more of a generalised one, but what I often see with people who start out leading ( I also did it a lot when I started ) is keeping the plan the same every time, as well as the pace of the execution and how you utilize the player roles for who are on the server. That last part is different on EU3 since there are usually no pre assigned roles/load-outs (Players can choose something different every time), but lets say you are commanding a game night event, and player roles + load outs are pre-set. You could go for the typical head-on assault, but you could also think out of the box and create something unique every time, which is more challenging for you and more fun for the people following your plan. F.E; Alot of people enjoy the occasional amphibious assault, instead of the typical Air Assault. Or perhaps take a convoy and get a group of guys who would like to function as ''Torch'' squad! I hope I included something that the kind gents above me didnt already tell you, they have some very good points too. You can always ambush me on ts, I`ll be happy to answer any questions you have. And if I dont know a general answer, we`ll find someone who does!
  13. Its definitely something to look out for in the near future.
  14. Probably 2 weeks ( Saturday 25th ). Will update in the upcoming week. It means Freedom in latin, so not made up
  15. Ill let you guys know on this same thread when its up, probably make a new thread or let the title get updated by staff.
  16. POSTPONED The gamenight for Saturday 11th April 2015 has been postponed to a future announced date due to the low amount of sign-ups. The mission will also be edited properly if needed in this postponed time with f.e ACE and/or new RHS updates etc etc. The post will be updated at a later date and we`ll make sure you`ll know when it is. OPERATION RECIPITE on Zargabad The start time will be 13.30 UTC for mission planning\setup and I hope we can start the in-game preparation at 14.00 UTC. (1 HOUR EARLIER THAN USUAL) Netherlands/Paris time: 15:30 ( if it wasnt clear, since summer time bla bla ) JIP AFTER MISSION START WILL NOT BE ALLOWED If you have a disconnect you can enter with your password you get in teamspeak as usual, you wont have to message anyone about it. DO NOT pester other users for the password if you dont have one, theres reasons for us giving you the password in the first place, which is a valid sign-up. MISSION BRIEFING: Russian troops pushed out of the city of Zargabad back to the oil fields in the north. The amount of enemy presence seen from base is low, but intel from the resistance shows multiple seperatists still active in the northen part of the city. This morning a NATO convoy bringing supplies through Zargabad to the frontline has been ambushed by these seperatist. Eye witnesses have spotted trucks with these stolen supplies at different locations within the city. Reports have also shown that groups of Russian infantry are still active north of Zargabad. It is our job to recover these supplies and react to these seperatists, and if necesarry to russian forces. Additional Info: (There will be some OPFOR Seperatist slots available for the OPFOR side, controlled by players. I will be giving them a seperate briefing. They are not there to wreck all the NATO guys, so dont worry about that. Keeping it controlled I also ask that you listen and follow commands orders as usual, and especially read all the mission info from the Map Menu when you enter the game. If there are not enough sign ups or technical difficulties due to the new update the game night will be moved to another date. Any dicking around will be taking seriously and admin implications may apply for any attempt to ruin or misbehave. If you don't have the patience to wait for missions to be planned and to play the game style of the game nights please do NOT turn up. Gamenights are just not for you. Good Luck!
  17. I actually have a game night mission ready, playtested and functional, although I have to check how it performes under the new update. If it all Works before saturday We can do it the 11th. If not, its plannd for another time.
  18. Is there a ACE3 page live where they update us on when its releasing? Or a RHS new page?
  19. I would love to help by creating a training mission format that focusses on different aspects of the ones listed by the post above. What exactly will be in these mission(s) is discussable, but the most important thing is that every training mission should be the same format/setup so its accessible to new players, as well as host-able by existing experienced members in the future. Although I do think that ''ranks''is an issue, since you could say : ''Who's going to host/lead these trainings''and ''Core staff/admins dont`t always want to host these sessions and monitor them''. There should be a motivated group of people accessible who have f.e a weekly password for ( maybe?) EU4 with the training mission on it. They can take a group of players who are motivated enough to sign up ( like game nights sheets perhaps?). And then theres the previously stated ''reward''for participating''. Why do something when it takes time and you can join the server nevertheless? In my opinion, the one and only way to have an actual new recruit training (Or experienced players learning other roles) before players can join is if there is an actual active eu3 community. Im not saying there is not right now, but it could be a tad more active ( which is uncontrollable since its not mandatory of course). If people have to participate in trainings to be able to join they will search for a role they like which will result in f.e team/squad leads volunteering and eager to do it when they have the time to play, instead of everyone joining a HAT-Team or Pilot slot ( No offense folks ) just so they can have the individual satisfaction of blowing sh*t up and being effective. The same goes for other roles. I must admit this edges close to a mil-sim environment, but change is never wrong, as long as its a shared thought by the whole community.
  20. Welcome my Dutch Brotheren! Check out EU#3 some times if you like a little more serious gameplay. We can always use good pilots, aswell as general players!
  21. Its the recording, you should master the sound a bit more, perhaps edit it after and record it without PTT?
  22. The horrors, the horrors. Definitely like this idea a lot, not sure how it would do performance wise as was stated before by others, but this would definitely increase the difficulty/assessment of situations! Perhaps introduce it in a game night or custom friday night zeus thingy or w/e.
  23. I couldn't help but recall some of those incredibly funny moments, thank you Rajiv. Now to the point. We should bring this post back up, especially after the new map changes. Some of those poll results have gone through on the EU3 Gauntlet mission, and I know a lot of people like some of them (thats at least the feeling I got after multiple hours of play testing). Perhaps some of you who did vote here before would have chosen a different option if you knew how it would pan out in the future. This post does still apply for the whole of EU3 as well, in the missions and outside of the missions. Although the mission has a big influence on the type of gameplay, after every mission the last one is the new standard. Almost everything that we liked from Patrol Ops got ported over or got adapted to the new mission, and what we didn't like mostly got... well, destroyed or removed. (Thank you to the creators) Now that we have new slots and load-outs there can be more focus on the actual gameplay/teamwork which is noticeable. Stuff like training and interviews are not implemented, as well as the different camo`s. Im not saying this is necessary or a request, but perhaps we should make a new poll since some time has passed and as I said before, some people will look differently to the same subjects/choices. and might come up with some good fitting stuff! Looking forward to your reactions
