  1. I have come on today and unexpectedly, the text is larger/clearer, and I thought I had accidentally zoomed in... Found myself zooming out a little so I didn't feel like I was being slapped in the face by the words... Keep up the good work Fellas. Also, The -Homepage- field on the AhoyWorld Teamspeak still lists ahoyworld.co.uk..... https://www.tsviewer.com/index.php?page=ts_viewer&ID=971701 I know it isn't specifically related to this new site, but, figured this is something you'd want pointing out and starting a new thread just to mention it seemes a little much. Fixed... Quick on the mark boys... Well done.
  2. Just a quick question, was going to ask privately via PM, but figured others may have the same question. Is there/Will there be an option to change the skin of the Forum? I LOVE white... but for forums I tend to use a darker shade, as the brightness tends to hurt my eyes after a while. Thanks in advance, Site looks great, very impressive, and I can't wait to see how it all looks/feels once everything is in place and running as you intend it to. Keep up the good work guys. *hugs*
  3. Personally, I am really liking the new Page, mostly the speed..
  4. It is a buggy mess.... If you need to accept an invite - the best solution is just to press&hold - U - If you struggle to scroll through the list up/down - simply select a players name further to the screen edge and scroll again, this will stop it resetting. If you wish to Promote someone else to the Lead of a group - slap yourself in the face with a rotting kipper - it willl have the same effect. You're better off having the new leader start a seperate group and disbanding the current one. Sometimes everything works out perfectly, sometimes nothing works out as planned. Hope this helps a little.
  5. https://www.dropbox.com/s/az0rv2hm08dkkdo/DSC_0001.jpg?dl=0 AMD 6300 R7 370 8 GB RAM (about to upgrade to 16) 250GB SSD - should have another 1TB - but drive was broken on arrival
  6. I'll have a look through my footage and see if I still have anything saved, if not, i'll do a recording soon.
  7. If no-one has to follow a person of higher rank - then why bother with rank at all?? I honestly don't see what the benefit here would be. Unlocking weapons etc is pointless... we can pick our equipment when we join the server. Unlocking vehicles etc is pointless... we get them through Mission rewards. If you're just after a cool looking emblem/icon for your uniform/vehicles, that shows you're a dedicated player, then the Squad.xml covers that. And as people above me have mentioned - I&A 3.0 - will offer support packages gained through scoring points ingame.
  8. There is now the ability for Repair Specialists and Engineer to refuel a downed Heli with enough fuel to get back to base.... Unfortunately however it doesn't always seem to work, it will say the Heli has fuel, or it will keep telling you it's refuelling forever. Hopefully this will be addressed soon. It's a great addition when it works.
  9. Hiya Veil... Welcome to the Forums Brother. See you again soon.
  10. Welcome to the Community Lex. See you back in game soon pal.
  11. This 100%. There are times of day when Admin are occupied with things, like eating, sleeping, living, and are therefore unable to deal with these incidents. Retaliating, even as self-defense, is frowned upon and so should be avoided completely. I myself have had to remind people that it's never OK to teamkill on AW servers. Using the PLAYER TOOLS tab, at the top of the page, is the most effective way to help admin deal with these situations/people. I use OBS to record incidents like these and, sometimes, use it 'after-the-fact' to scroll back through the chat and document certain incidents. Failing that, a simple screen shot with a detailed explaination - showing time, date, names and WHICH SERVER- can help the Admin to look back through the logs and find the culprits. Unfortunately on public servers you get some who are only interested in disrupting others enjoyment but, the Community as-a-whole and, the Staff here are pretty understanding and vigilant. As long as we all do our part things will run smoothly. Just remember these things can't be avoided but, if handled professionally/with restraint, they can be reduced and dealt with effectively.
  12. As one of the people taking part. I can second this, as I said previously having them on stealth works REALLY well if they're well placed.
  13. The FOB missions work perfectly - apart from the finding of the right truck - If you take the time to set up a convoy. 3-4 people in Hunters or Marshall (to maintain a good speed) and you will succeed almost every time. Make sure you have a Medic and a Repair spec in a follow vehicle to pick people up/fix the truck. There's nothing wrong with how the missions work, it just takes a little patience to find a team.
  14. OK, my bad... Let me correct.... That looks like a pretty cool script. Also... no need to shout buddy.... jeez. I get that people just joining aren't going to have great skills to begin... Neither did I, I still don't... But I did find ways that worked FOR ME..... and for others too. Giving them an extra lifeline will more than likely make them complacent and lazy. As it stands the Hummingbird can be a great teaching tool for newer pilots... They learn how to AVOID missles BEFORE they learn how to use flares.
  15. That looks like a pretty cool mod. I don't see the point in it for I&A though... There are multiple Helos (with flares) to use and the Hummingbird can EASILY avoid AA missles if the pilot can react quick enough. I will try to get some footage, but, here is my explaination to how. When being approached by AA, fly directly AWAY from it and simply roll 45-90* left, then the same to the right... no need to turn, just roll. Most times when doing this, the missle lock will be lost/confused and the missle will fly past the Helo, or simply drop to the ground. As I said this works 'MOST' times, but not EVERY time. I think the fact that the Hummingbird requires a different approach when dealing with Anti-Air (flying low, behind as much cover as possible) works in terms of balance, it allows it to be used for different roles. I like using it to take a Recon team to a side Mission, or if there aren't many players around, take it to the side mission myself and do some recon, adding markers to the map and plotting multiple approach routes for the larger Helos to ensure safe landing sites. Or making fast drops/evacs in places the bigger helos can't reach, giving it flares will likely cause people to get a little reckless with it.
  16. Welcome to the Community.
  17. He did say in Side Chat that it was his "First time trolling" So I can understand why he thinks this is going to work for him. he is yet to understand the 'Art' of Trolling.
  18. Nice resurrection Ginge....
  19. I also feel that the addition of a Long-range (500-1000m) Night Optic would be good for Snipers, however I also see the point from the Staff point-of-view. These were removed for being a little game-breaking when in the hands of people, who just want kills and, who aren't really co-operating with others (Lonewolfing). It gives Snipers a VERY large advantage over others in most situations. But given the fact that people rarely carry flares, and SHOULD NOT put themselves at risk by illuminating an area they're near, Snipers during night operations are at a HUGE disatvantage. I never understood why they were given to Squad Leaders and not Marksman/Snipers in the first place. From my view point, it should be Snipers/Marksmen using the long-range night optics as that is their role. I have had some REALLY good gameplay working with a Spotter who called out enemy positions to me at up to 1200m when using a LRPS during night hours.... It felt extremely satisfying being directed to a target and then searching for them in the shadows/low-light before getting the kill. But I would be MUCH happier if I didn't have to SEARCH so hard once someone spotted a target for me. Having a long-range Night Optic is a must for Snipers during night ops. So - Does anyone know of a way to get NVS working with AMS/LRPS (Mod/script etc?) ???? That would be a better solution in my eyes, than having Nightstalker. If not, I would then like to add my name into the hat of people wondering if we could perhaps have Nightstalkers added back for Snipers/Marksmen and removed from Squad Leaders. Also ... Ignore the name, I play all roles as needed.... I just prefer Sniping, it rewards patience.
  20. Like I said man, if they remove the Slammer UP - and use the Slammer - then with no Commander Machinegun the Slammer is less likely to go into the mission area where there are more infantry... they'd be a sitting duck.
  21. Hello bud. Good to see you in here. Welcome to the Community.
  22. That's not really the real question, but just to be sure, I'll answer it anyway. Yes it can be done, yes it has been done, but people don't really talk about it because it doesn't happen often. I myself have managed to Solo AO's just by switching between UAV and Sniper.... It's not hard if you have patience. I have also managed to complete certain Side Missions without firing a single shot, by crawling and using smoke grenades. People will find ways to complete Missions with what is available given the right circumstances.
  23. Honestly I believe the best solution is to replace the Slammer UP with the regular Slammer... Not having the Commander Machinegun will make it less likely that a Tank will drive in to engage the Infantry. Meaning they will be used more to remove Armour Targets and to provide mobile cover for the guys on the ground. That removes the need for more AI or for any other major tweeks.
