  1. Just a bit of an update - I know I haven't been around all that much over the last week or two.

I have a friend going through some difficult times staying with me, so when he's not busy trying to deal with his issues, I've been with him playing some Warframe.

Will definitely be back some time soon. I miss you guys.

  2. People need to relax.

I understand the issues here, but as has been mentioned, these things take time.
The Staff are working on this. Trying to rush them will only make the process slower.

We ALL (Staff included) experience times where people messing around cause the game to slow to a halt.

Give them time people, be patient, they have our backs.
    Thy got this.
    :D

Cebi also brings up a good point on the pros and cons, and in the instance of towing vehicles into the helipads, yes I think that's a doable solution CURRENTLY but it's stuff like that that would cause what Branden's already mentioned: cluttering up the helipads so no one can land. Also, to have 1 or two downed choppers and then to use a third to have to sling in a repair vehicle is just adding more temporarily unusable choppers and by the time you get them all repaired after organizing the tow, it might just have been faster to use a vehicle's AP rounds to demo them and let them respawn.

    TL:DR version -
    ASK FOR HELP/LEAD BY EXAMPLE

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Full version -

If there isn't a Repair Spec around, ask someone if they'd mind switching for a moment to help you out.
It works, not everyone is selfish, some people are more than happy to change role for a few moments.

As for it being quicker to demo a vehicle than repair it...
Sorry to put it bluntly but, Bull....

10min respawn timer - Vs. - 5mins moving a repair vehicle to the pad and back.

once the Repair vehicle has been dropped off, the one that moved it is back in action... 2-3min.
The Helis that just repaired from said vehicle, can then move it back to where it was, or just move it off the pad... 1-2min.

    The only issue comes when people refuse to leave their slot because;

    a. Someone else will take their slot. (Especially frustrating for UAV, Sniper, Pilot roles)

    b. They're really good with their current role and busy. (Usually Medics)

    c. Are a total douche. (Most likely in common slots but unwilling to help team)

This is just another one of those situations that require a little effort from the Community, not just in doing these things themselves, but in showing OTHERS how to do it too.
Leading by example, I hate giving up my Sniper/Pilot slots to deal with repairs etc, but I will, because even though someone else is going to take the spot the second I step out of it, and usually be bad at it, it's not about the individual but about the team.

I know people want to find easy solutions to the problems of bad players/unfortunate situations, but the reality of it is simple...
Take the time to teach others how to be a part of the Community and ASK for help... not just once, not just in your own group... but EVERYONE on the server.

I should have been more clear i meant with overcast. If you have 0 overcast it's no problem.

Not at all, I understood what you meant, but this is the only Night footage I have.
It's here more to show others how difficult it can be to find targets at range at night...
and this is in PERFECT conditions...

Once the weather comes in it is MUCH harder.

  5. The staff are working hard on getting everything finalised and set.
As long as things like this are brought to their attention, then you can rest assured that it will be dealt with in due course.

Each of them has a multitude of things to work on, and their regular everyday lives as well.

We all know big changes take time to settle.

Okay so a few points after a couple of months of the new rules.

We still have some shit pilots.

    Not enough pilots are repairing.

Admins are not receiving enough reports about poor piloting (or general rule breaking) (guys we might not be overjoyed at being interrupted but we don't blame the reporting player we blame the useless pilot or the tker.)

Pilots are improving in some cases but not all. (fewer fly overs of active aos).

So in my mind the rule change has been a mixed bag that wasn't as successful as I would have hoped.

Pilots destroying helis will be punished but we need to know about them.

This is the crux of it for me.

Most people are still stuck in the old mentality of "It's damaged, destroy it".

It has been improving though, more people are requesting repairs and more pilots are willing to try and recover their Heli.

Unfortunately there still aren't enough people willing to actually tell an Admin about poor piloting/heli destroyers.
I regularly get people telling me via Teamspeak/in game chat, that someone is crashing far too often, or that they are destroying Helicopters that could be recovered.
I do inform the bad/inexperienced pilots that perhaps they should get more practice when the server is less populated, or via the editor.. and no doubt many (in EU#2) have seen me tell those planning to destroy their Heli to stop, and to request a Repair spec/Engineer, and explain to them that it is not ok to destroy a vehicle unless it is 100% unrecoverable.

From that point, there is nothing more that I can personally do, and that is where I refer players to the Admin Staff, more than half of them immediately give up and cannot be bothered to even message an Admin, and so I end up having to do it myself.

We knew these rules wouldn't change things overnight, and yes it's still a little frustrating when these things happen, but given more time... and less free weekends :P ... Things will continue to improve. But only if we continue to guide those other players and explain things to them as they begin their experience here.

  7. I have come on today and unexpectedly, the text is larger/clearer, and I thought I had accidentally zoomed in...
Found myself zooming out a little so I didn't feel like I was being slapped in the face by the words... :D

Keep up the good work Fellas.

    Also,

The -Homepage- field on the AhoyWorld Teamspeak still lists ahoyworld.co.uk.....

I know it isn't specifically related to this new site, but, figured this is something you'd want pointing out
and starting a new thread just to mention it seemes a little much.

    Fixed...
Quick on the mark boys... Well done.

  8. Just a quick question, was going to ask privately via PM, but figured others may have the same question.

Is there/Will there be an option to change the skin of the Forum?
I LOVE white... but for forums I tend to use a darker shade, as the brightness tends to hurt my eyes after a while.

Thanks in advance, Site looks great, very impressive, and I can't wait to see how it all looks/feels once everything is in place and running as you intend it to.
Keep up the good work guys.
    *hugs*
