  1. @kennychr Could get hairy for me aswell... It says 2h but i'm only getting around 800kb/s right now. If the server frees up and i get more bandwidth i should be good to go! Let's hope :-) (Downloading the Google Drive version from the armaholic post right now so there is no reason why the speed shouldn't get better) Aunt Edith says: 15:55 now and roughly 40 min of downloading left (still with potential of more bandwidth) so i should be good :-) Update 2: Download failed and canceled at about 70% -.- Downloading via ArmaSync right now. Getting better speed but still says about 40 minutes to go. So lets hope and see.
  2. This is a really good idea! @Plant1ing the problem isn't with picking a weapon. As a fresh player, since you propably don't know any of the weapons, you just pick one with a familiar name (e.g. M4 or SCAR) and the next time you pick another one till you find one that suits you (atleast thats what i am trying to do). But the list is so damn long with dozens of different versions of one single rifle (that basically all do the same and just look a little different) that it is really hard to find the single hidden gem ;-) So i would find this very helpful because i gives me a more condensed overview of what is available to me. Just my two cents. Greetz Br41n
  3. Since the thread of the other training session is closed i'll have to skit a bit off topic here. I would like to take the time and thank the team from the last training session. Plant1ng, Mouldy and Scottie for taking the time and putting together 3 very nice and informative lessons. I really learned a lot! Amentes for organizing the whole thing! And everyone else who might have worked in the background on it without us noticing! Thank you very much to all of you! Since i'm on vacation i sadly can't attend this one... Would really love to hear the intro to EU#3! Greetz Br41n P.S.: I think the date should be "Friday 10th of June" but i might be wrong on that one ;-)
  4. I'd like to offer my opinion from the perspective of a pretty new player. While the uniforms are looking really awesome i have to agree with Ryko. For new players it's already overkill especially with the weapons. Having 3 different M4A1's from 3 different mods just seems unnecessary and is kinda confusing. For me the biggest problem seems to be the length of the list and in that regard SMA really is not helping because of the way they manage grips and handles on their weapons. Having 10 differently styled weapons that aren't really doing something different in list on the left is just confusing. RHS does that much better in my opinion. Also the 100 different body armors are a bit too much i think especially since most of them don't really fit to the camo patterns of the uniforms that well. As already mentioned in another thread CUP is the mod that adds the most (and so is the biggest contributor to this problem) and in my opinion the solution could be dropping CUP for 1 or 2 other mods that have little variety but great quality and detail. But i understand that this kind of stuff isn't easy to decide especially keeping in mind that the mission would have to be edited to support the repo. I hope nobody takes this the wrong way and instead takes it the way it's supposed to be: Just the experience and opinion from the perspective of a new player (since Ryko mentioned you want to attract new players) that hopefully doesn't sound like i'm wiser and have the perfect solution (because i definitely don't). You guys have way more experience with this stuff than me. So enough drifting of topic here :-) See you on EU#3! Greetz Br41n
  5. After about 2 weeks of playing on EU#3 and lurking on the forum i'd like to introduce myself. First of all for all wondering my nick is indeed pronounced Brain. It's what my friends called me back in school and it kinda stuck with me. But since "Brain" is taken almost everywhere i started spelling it "Br41n". A little bit about me: I'm 27 years old and live in south Germany. I've been gaming pretty much my whole live and always enjoyed realistic and immersive games. That's what drew me to ARMA 2 back in the day and of course i've played my fair share of DayZ (not standalone) back then. After playing a whole bunch of other games i finally picked up ARMA 3 a few months back and i've been loving it so far. I found AhoyWorld through some old Luetin videos but the mostly unorganized "everyone by himself" kind of "mess" on EU#1 was not what i was looking for. Luckily i found EU#3 and gave it a try. I'm really enjoying it so far. Not only the playing style but even more so the really open and helpful atmosphere!!! I've watched a whole bunch of ARMA videos including a lot of MilSim type operations. And while it's really great to watch the strict nature of that seems a bit overkill to me. So EU#3 really feels like the best of both worlds! Just a bunch of guys that enjoy playing tactically together. But enough of that. I'm really looking forward to some great times and future events! See you on EU#3 Br41n
