    Although killing the enemy is an important part of playing on AWE, the server distinguishes itself on being team oriented, so being the best is not defined by being of the top of the leader board.
  2. First, thanks @SkullCollector for splitting this topic, didn't even know it could be done. Second on a personal note: This last spring break I took a trip to SE Asia and when in Cambodia, one of the poorest and most heavily mined countries in the region, I not only had a chance to go to a land mine museum but I also met a victim at the museum. Despite all of the historical and awe inspiring things I learned and saw while in Cambodia going to this museum and meeting this man made me think the most. The man was old and he really spoke no English and his injury obviously happened a while ago. The only thing I coupd think to say to him was that I was sorry, and despite him not speaking English he knew what I was trying to say and acknolleged my intentions. The reason I said what I did is that most likely he was injured by a mined that a US solider laid or dropped, so I felt some responsibility even though it wasn't my choice or anything I could have changed. The reason I mention this is to show what these weapons do, they are indiscriminate. I also mention this story to show the real life impact, but also how they are used in warfare. I want to distinguish the real world from the fantisty land we play in every day and say how we should always put gameplay first and have fun but not take lightly the subject matter despite our digital reality. Don't ban the bombs, as we can show the player base how to use them within the rules and unlike in real life they will go off every time. Although @Amentes and @S0zi0p4th already started to out line some rules against the use of cluster munitions I do believe that they have there place and instead of being banned I believe they should instead be highly regulated. The only bomb I have a real problem with is the cbu-89 as it will cuase havoc even if used correctly. All the others serve a good purpose. The cbu-105 could be used to destroy an artillery position for example, that was very well concluded and dispersed over a large area. Other cbu and agm types like the agm-154a could be used to eliminate large enemy counter attacks or destroy heavily fortified positions. The server already has rules which restrict the engagement of ground targets from the air and when ground and air commanders follow these rules and look out for friendlies there is no reason that these weapons can't be used safely and in a way that the gameplay is fun for all. And just like any other rule on server, any not safe or appropriate usage of the weapons will be enforced by the staff. Two side notes as well. Cluster munitions can be used by ASL via his artillery options already and as far as I know there is no concrete way to stop the usage and loading of cluster bombs. So in my mind the best way to stop abuse of these weapons is education about how to use them and when, not ban them. Just my thoughts, Ben

  7. Just to flesh out a few details: This mission is what I feel is a good mix of fast paced mechanized combat along with a heavy dose of urban combat, which will challenge your mechanized squads. To this affect re-spawning is allowed to keep up pace of play, re-spawning is enabled on all strikers (like you might do in BF4). The composition will ideally be a mix of 3 HMG or GMG Strikers and a MGS Striker with a command and repair Striker. Squads are like this: Infantry: 9 man squad with two colored fire teams x3 Crews: 2 man teams, driver and commander/gunner x4 Pilot: 2 man team AH64 (will be filled last) x1 CMD: 2 man team with Plat CO and Plat Eng. x1 I hope to see a large player turn out to make this a fun as possible all while showing off one of the new terrains, Ben
  8. @Fugitz -Are there any minimum technical requirements (scripting) for a mission to be called good or acceptable? A: No there are no minimums and to start it is best to just have a good mission with fun gameplay -How much support from other players and staff can i expect in the process of building a mission? For example testing, improvements, or all in all reaching the niveau of AhoyWorld missions. A: As much or as little as you want. I can help you whenever both you and I are on and feel free to message me. -Criteria for a mission to be fit for a Gamenight A: Both ryko and other game night related staff have laid out requirements here: -Is it possible to try other gameplay-styles, which may some people of the staff dont seem fit for a gamenight or on Enhanced in general(Aircraft only, Armor only, etc)? A: Make and create whatever you want and usually the player base is always up for a change of pace. Again if you want any help just ask, Ben

  10. @J0hnson the purpose of having the javelin tubes and the clu separate is to allow people to gather and pack ammo without anyone who wants being able to fire them. I am assuming you are talking about the create adjacent to the arsenal, as the FSG specialists should be able to take both easily.
  11. @Noah_Hero I do believe that AWE is hosted alongside one if not two of the IAA servers on the same box. Based on that I assume that the message is based on the box itself and not the individual server. If anyone knows more or has a concrete answer I would like to know aswell becuase I have noticed and wondered about this message forever.

  14. @Ryko I would consider placing the PAK-50 instead as it is technically an experimental jet and it is similar in the air superiority role as the Shikra (it is an RHS jet).
  15. @ShadowAce11 good work so far and the initial intro is my favorite part. My critiques: The clips aren't full screen and look kinda wierd Most a from a POV and not a more professional and cinematic viewpoint No website link at the end Even though I know that the IP at the end is TS it might not be obvious to everyone I'll be back in a week and if you would like I help shoot some shots and make a scenario that makes it easier.
  16. @joaopedrocastella One of the driving factors behind the recent update was to allow players to use more gear to create and represent different nationalities. As siege already suggested: spend some time and make your favorite loadouts in the virtual arsenal. Also some of the gear is already limited and there was even more that could have been added. Never be afraid to be that strong voice that tells people to get their ass out of the arsenal and into the helicopter. Thanks Ben

  19. @JaSmAn Trust me man it wasn't the people that got to me after the mission, but instead it was my personal feelings about the mission. Also thank you for the feedback and being supportive. And although I appreciate your offer to 'write orders' it is my gamenight, my experiences, and my mistakes that I will learn from and fix. Thanks to everyone how came, Ben

  22. So I know that player count has been a little low on the server lately and that this game night is not accessible to everyone, but if you are able I really do encourage that you come out and experience a Tanoa game night for one of the first times on AWE. Thanks Ben
  23. Also if your weight and role allow for it take some form of AT. Even if you aren't going to use it, take it so some else can. Ex: the marksman often doesn't weigh a lot but you also shouldn't really be up front using AT. So bring an extra M27 and give it to your LAT when he runs out. I know this is often said, but it is a key point of good team play. -Ben

  25. @McKillen Although I really like most of these changes, and more are to be officially announced soon, they really won't bring any affect to performance. They very might however bring more players like you said. Server performance is dictated by the mission file and numbers of AI and players on the maps not the mods. Thanks steering for making good changes that will spice things up. -Ben
