  1. Have signed up, not fussed where you put me so pay no attention to my choices. Just throw me where you need me ?
  2. Take a tube and some HuntIR 40mm grenades. Quick and dirty, but gets the job done
  3. Great to hear you enjoyed your first time on AhoyWorld Enhanced! Make sure to drop by when there are Zeus missions on the go, or even a gamenight. They add totally different dynamics. Anyways, great to see you around these parts! Regards, Copey
  4. I'm on my phone so I can't quote the one but I want out of this, so. With regard to the weight limit of an ideal loadout definitely include it. I already put it into our guide a while ago but you chaps know how much attention people pay to the forums these days

    Super FOB

One heck of an overwatch, ain't no chance on someone sneaking a unit up on ya!
  6. I have seen rifleman take a backpack (very small one) to take some extra med supplies for the medic, or an extra box mag for the AR. Obviously it's whoever is your TLs decision. Admittedly I have seen this being used when there is a specialised AT asset in play, so there is not as much need for LAWs in the infantry. Again its leader and mission specific, but something to bare in mind
  7. AHOYWORLD ENHANCED!!!!!!!!! Not called EU3 anymore... Otherwise I shall have a good read of this when I don't have a matter of hours to finish an assignment.
  8. That it is, this is why we updated a while back. Please do update your plugins before coming running screaming TFAR is crap and doesn't work
  9. I'm not sure who kicked you but man I was really hollering at you! I could hear you replying as well so it's definitely something your end :/
  10. No comment. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using a phone app that is really irritating because it constantly advertises itself.
  11. I think a point that should be raised is also the need for confident and able team leads when you are a SL co-ordinating a large group of players. If you are having to micromanage your teams then it an become impossible. However, if the TL's are able to just sit in on a briefing, or take a generalised order over the radio and then enact that of their own accord, things are much, much easier. I guess you can liken the TL's at least in this sense to mini SL's, because they can communicate to one another and react to situations and only require direct input from SL on new orders or on bigger picture issues. There are several people in the community who I know as team leads I can say "We land here, tab it to here. This is your objective, make it happen. And they will, this enables me to sit bak a bit, maybe 100-200m and direct the battle on a wider scale, while maintaining the effectiveness of the infantry.
  12. I'm sorry but that is just something I could not get behind. At all. It is effectively the same thing as what Ryko tried to do a while back. It didn't go well, and rather p***ed off a decent proportion of the playerbase. This is one of those 'learn from your mistakes' moments as I see it. I very much agree with Ryko here that forcing people into roles will not work and more than likely further deter players. Yes it is an issue, yes it has been an issue for a while, and yes I think it will continue to be an issue. This is just because of the playstyle and mentality required to be a SL these days. Sometimes it can be a nightmare, no two ways about putting that. This is what I see as a big factor in the issue at hand
  13. Same as Amentes, won't be able to make the 23rd now
  14. I must say that while I do not agree with everything in your post, it is very well written in a way that isn't just demanding we do something. It's asking for discussion and opinions so thank you for that Ben. With regard to the Chinook; yes, I totally agree that the option could be there, perhaps even should, however I feel that it would detract from the sense with which most British operations are done. This is in the sense we tend to either walk there, drive there, or take a helo + walk a bit to get to where we are going. Yes this is not a milsim style server, however I feel by taking this essence we are offering a different type of gameplay. With regard to the CAS options, we don't often have much in the way of support, other than the guy in a section with a GPMG. I feel that if there is such a need for heavy CAS within the scope of British Forces on Guantlet, we could perhaps look at using the A-10. Say there is a detachment from you stateside lads providing us the top cover, which quite frankly is often the case for fast air atm.

    Hey all! ^^

Hey there, nice to see you around here, Copey
  16. Interested, however my driving is gonna be worse than.. the racing line.. so don't expect much
  17. Thanks @Mouldy Yeah I will make sign ups available Saturday afternoon, I am using them to gauge how many people we can be expecting roughly, and as a way of giving people who signed up ahead of time a chance at their preference. Anybody who has signed up and is no longer able to make it, just post in here or drop me a pm please.
  18. Operation Whiskey Delta Time: 1800 GMT (1900 UK LOCAL) Date: Saturday 29th of October 2016 ASSEMBLE IN MISSION PLANNING 15 MINUTES BEFORE MISSION START. Cover to your local time zone here: https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?msg=AWE+Operation+Whiskey+Delta&iso=20161029T18&p1=1440 Correct Mission Version for Server: 1.10 Join Session in Progress is allowed, with the same rules as for unfair deaths (see below in important notes). First off this is my first gamenight, and while every effort has been made to ensure no bugs affect your experience, there may still be some present. My apologies ahead of time if this is the case. So, the details. This is a ZEUS gamenight. This will probably be streamed, and if not, definitely recorded. Map: Gorgona Base: Main Base on the Island Mission: A mission to recover Intel and render assistance to a local asset. This is all the information available at this time. The ASL or PLTCO will have ahead knowledge of the goings on of the operation, and they can disseminate information as they see fit. Be aware, this will not be an easy op, but I will not try to make you fail, expect a good fight. Be advised there is a road out due to a rockfall, shown on map by a red exclamation mark. This road is impassable and should not be used. Time: Evening, not yet night. Restrictions: No AT LAUNCHERS (You won’t be needing them). HAT, MAT, LOGI, TORCH, HAMMER and VORTEX 2 slots have been removed. In addition to this the COMMAND group consists of PLTCO and 2 Medics Only. Normal gauntlet rules apply throughout. Important Notes: Ace Medical Basic. Medics are the only ones able to administer Epi and Blood. If you aren’t familiar with basic please look here: ACE Wiki Players should also be aware that there is a 1 life policy, ie. you die, you're done. HOWEVER, I have made it quite hard for you to die outright. There are no insta-deaths. Once in the down but not out stage, you have 150 seconds to be revived by a medic. You can be revived 2 times. After this you will die, and be able to spectate the mission, this is something you might want to do, instead of just disconnecting (HINT HINT). If you are killed unfairly (bad frag, or disconnect due to error etc.) you can respawn at a debug island. Ping Zeus to be re-inserted via a teleport. DO NOT SPAM ZEUS. Anybody trying to circumnavigate this process will be dealt with in a fashion...lightning bolts. As there is only 1 vortex team slot,, there can only be one vortex bird, this will be the Littlebird Medium CAS variant. All troop movement will be done through Humvees, 4 door, open types. However others may be made available. This is designed to be a fun, infantry based mission, so don’t come packing loads of mags and ammo, 6-7 should suffice for the standard rifleman. This said, you may wish to have an ammo bearer for normal mags within a team (perhaps whoever would normally bring AT). Due to the islands size (it is very small) there may be portions of the mission where you actually have to walk around, this will not be more than a click, so no moaning about a little legwork! While the armoured slots have been removed, the vehicles will remain spawned in. They are there to look pretty and give you an idea what the base may look like when we put Gauntlet onto this map (or something requiring a base). The arsenal used in this gamenight will be exactly the same as guantlet's. ALL PLAYERS should be aware that the default loadouts are for ACE advanced. This is especially apparent for medics who will need to get blood instead of plasma (which is what you are given by default). Basic bandages also suffice for all wounds, instead of the various types used in Ace Advanced. And no, this won’t end with a nuke (Skull). Sigh. Requesting a slot: Sign Up Here!: Google Form I will try to post a roster ahead of mission start below, PLTCO and SLs will be aware ahead of time that they have this slot, as they will require a briefing from me. People who apply for this role will be screened, and I will only give it to someone who I feel is appropriate and can handle the workload. Per say, I would not recommend applying for PLTCO if it would be your first time in the role. #SpoilerPhotos
  19. Making the recording of what was said during the community meeting available here for you all. Recording available: here. Also below is a quick note document made by myself and Ghostdragon as we proceeded through the meeting, with specific answers to questions. Quick Notes available: here.
  20. Charlie has not been listed below, however may be used in game depending on player requirements. These slots are assigned as preferential slots only. This means you are guaranteed this slot in the gamenight if you are on time, or have given prior notice to possibly being late. If you do not want the slot you have been assigned, then when we are going through the slotting up process, you can say so, and will be able to join slots when everyone else who has signed up is in. Those who sign up today, but have not been placed below, will be given preferential choice at remaining slots before non-sign ups are. 22. *Personal Opinions* Big, big agree with the air asset renaming. We could have a competition for best name or something. Yes to FSG, in theory I very much like the idea of folding MAT + HAT + MMG1 +MMG2 into 2 new FSG groups. The way in which these groups operate I have no preference, that would be in my mind whatever the community wants, but obviously within the rules of AWE.
  23. The FPS drop is more than likely attributable to the current memory leak in Arma. Only way I know of to combat it is to make sure you regularly verify your game cache and do regular restarts of the game. Not heard of the character artifacting before but it may be related, others may know something I don't. Hope this helps, Copey
  24. That would be admin/zeus abuse. And then we would be deep in the shit for it. While I don't like damaging others gameplay on server, I feel that unfortunately sometimes you have to do drastic things on server to get people to listen when they are pissing around. Unfortunately when people are pissing around it ruins other peoples gameplay, often whoever is commanding. In this case origins did something that has woke people up to this fact. I understand why he did it, I've sat people down at debrief, or even half way through a mission and shouted at them for their stupidity. Each commander has their own way of doing things. If this is what it takes to wake people up to this issue on EU3 then I can't say I'm against taking such actions. What needs to be happening is the community needs to help commanders, moderators and staff to show those who piss around, it is not acceptable. It is not something that we can do without players standing up too, or we have to resort to doing things in this kind of way. On a different note, if we followed the moderator strategy of warn, kick, ban. Then by now I'd say half of the player-base would have been banned for pissing around. And then we would really be accused of abuse. I'm going to say something unpopular here, and almost ignorant. Somebody has to say it though. If making you run up and down that runway pissed you off, good. I wouldn't want to make you do it, but quite frankly if that's the only way some of you are going to wake up to the shitfest that is going off, then I am not against it at all. Stop people from pissing around, show them that it is unacceptable, and then this shit wouldn't have to happen.
