There are actually some radio-chatter-esque sounds that sound good when looped (we currently use one of them for viewing the UAV, though it's very quiet). We could just slam those in there and then we wouldn't have to slam the filesize up at all.

I know Raz is found of ATC feeds in his chopper but how about something like the following being imbedded as a constant loop? I know right now it would add further traffic to the server but with steamworkshop taking the strain at a later date it could work?

I agree with what Noms says on this, adding OPFOR as the mission currently is would be more likely to degrade the experience of the BLUFOR players rather than adding to their experience. I did however have an idea, what about an OPFOR commander? Someone who can issue orders to AI squads to generate more of a tactical element to OPFOR. As it is at the moment they just generally mill about in the AO rather than take up strategic positions or react in a realistic manner to BLUFOR attacks.

What about adding the 'Green' faction as an independent faction with its own aims that some times help and sometimes hinder the BLUFOR players?

I don't think an ingame board is going to work, if someone turns down their settings it will be illegible and it requires someone to stop and pause at a point they are only focused on getting transport to the AO. I think using the 'hints' to give players instructions for their roles and reminders every so often will be more beneficial.
If we are seeking teamplayers rather than individuals (even if they are doing their individual task well) I think we need an ad hoc squad system, this will mean that players will not have to rely on the lottery of free slots to get in a squad with the people they want to work with, as well as giving space to the lone wolves.

Interesting point FATS, what if the spawns for each squad were separated more? There are several 'LZs' and small firebases around the island not used as an AO. Maybe we could split the squads to spawn at different ones, then pilots can try to keep the squads together?
