Why oh why are people still using 6, use the repo it's much easier & mostly faster to DL from, also it stays current to what we have running on the server pws will auto update your mods and then you'll be stuck in a spiral of trying to backdate them only for them to update again the next time you run 6 to get an old version 6 has the option if you select the mod there is a dropdown tab under the mod name on the right hand side of the screen iirc, that lets you chose previous versions this gets messy, especially if we decide to do regular changes or change parts of inner working of mods (a-la AGM mod) As above it should be V1.5 note the large V not the small v (whoever's (author??) bright idea it was to have the same version number but different case v needs to be brought out shot repeatedly in face with hot love juice)

There is no substitute for experience, and you can only learn so much from watching a youtube videos, for example you can't see what inputs he's making control wise on his keyboard / stick / pedals, best suggestion is I'd make to anyone is use the editor get the feel for how Arma helos fly, then after a few straight hours practice, forget everything you learnt and jump into DCS and learn how to really handle a helo and then after a several straight days practice go back to Arma with some improved skills and adjust to the dumbed down physics & handling
  5. There's only so much we can do, trial & error is the only way to learn and then and only when look for help, the answers are right in front of your face you just haven't been 'ed long enough

As Kam said not just the model but sounds, vehicle physics, and then getting it to work with physx, texturing, etc etc From what i know you need to use something like Blender to create the model then import it with Arma tools / Eliteness to get it into the engine, then spend your life tinkering with the dodgy coding to get it work right or as close to right as you like it the main drawback is that there is very little if no documentation about how to go about it and it's mostly trial & error, your best bet would be to jump onto the BI forums and give one of the modders (Gnat, if he's still around - haven't been on BI forums in donkeys years) that are building / porting models there a shout most are very helpful and will guide you in the right direction Cain ^^ was referring to real life

Sad times, not the first to go, (although the others did come back) but this could be the begining of the end once someone like this goes and shows what he has gone through over the year, with little or no help or support from BI to get his project off the ground, at best they thwart his attempts by changing something with each update oh well, lets see what happens down the road. maybe someone else will take it up the batton and keep the mods running

Launchers - this is supposed to be a 2 / 3 person job so it's reasonable that if you drop a bag containing the 1st section by the time you get back with 2nd pack the first is gone 2. the clean up script removes everything that is on the ground longer then a given time to help improve performance, as even the slightest piece of debris contributes to a hit on the server output, so the less the better and the most regular and easiest item to track and remove from the ground are gear dead bodies and packs, where as spent bullets, bullet casing, dust, insects & pollen are less of an easy target to cleanup as they are much more random

C.U.P is and always has been the next / continued step from the ALLinARMA project (AKA best mod project ever for the Arma series), it's good that people like Dyslexi have finally jumped on board and are trying to get more people aware and eager for it to release (might give it the kick and recogintion from BI it needs to reach that goal) hopefully it will come to full fruition with everything past and present being brought up to A3 standards but it is a long long way off from completion

    Back to Stratis

    Oh the call of Stratis every few months this happens we all get tired of the big map, yes it does make a nice change from Altis, but it does also grow old rather quick too - actually extremely quickly from past experiences, Hence why the modded server came into being in the first place was to experminent on new (old A2 maps) but cause of bugs and issues with parts of the mission not recognising the maps it was sort of scrapped (read as waiting for a BI fix) We might add in a Stratis version into rotation but it'll take time to restructure and move bits ans bobs to fit the smaller map, so keep an eye on the news section for updates what would be cool is if we could transition seamlessly between the 2 maps, i.e. at a certain trigger point a command is issued for all trops to muster at the airfield and load into transports we take off fly south then a little cut scene or transitoin loading screen and we land at airfield on SStratis, but that is a bit of a pipe dream
