  1. Ahoy Coin integration is currently down while we work out some teething problems. Our code is fine; blame the others! Either me or Aciid will let y'all know when it's back up.
  2. As a quick piece of information to all of our community members, we'd like to inform you that we've started our Ahoy Coin integration. Put simply, this means that you'll be awarded Ahoy Coins in-game for killing enemies / reviving team-mates and the like. These Ahoy Coins will then be cashed into your Ahoy World account allowing you to, in the future, purchase in-game items from the site across a wide array of servers. Obviously, it's a system that's hard to test alone, so we invite you all to participate and let us know that everything's working as it should. The first thing to do is to make sure your account in synced up. To do this, you need to: Edit your Profile Scroll down to the bottom of the Profile Settings tab Fill in the Player Name and Player UID fields using the information from your ArmA 3 Profile Click Save Changes That's it! Now, simply play ArmA on our server and start earning Ahoy Coins! For those of you that really want to help out, make sure you take note of how many Ahoy Coins you have when you start playing and how many you have afterwards. Is it the right amount? Should you have more? Less? Currrently, Ahoy Coins are only "synced up" once a Main AO is completed; we'll change this soon, we just have to do some benchmarks to find an easy method that doesn't impact performance. Thanks for listening, all; now go and get some coins!

    Hey Ahoy

This, plus your avatar, is one hell of a post.

    Hey Ahoy

    Welcome to Ahoy World, Mark.
  5. Wahey! Welcome, noms.
  6. I think the issue Matosh is trying to make is that slots fill up quickly and finding a slot in the same squad as your friends is not always possible. The system would be a way of creating and dropping squads on-the-fly, allowing people from differing squads leave and form new ones so they can be together with their mates. It's a good system and I mean to implement it, but right now it's not a priority. I'll add this to my to-do list.
  7. Would have to be a server-side thing to ensure everybody's seeing the same signs, but it'll be easy as pie to implement. Would just take a little bit of time scripting it.
  8. Lovely idea. Anybody feel like setting up a demo of this? I can if there's no one else.
  9. As a jerk reaction to keep people playing on our servers, Ahoy World will be temporarily moving all servers to the DEV branch until Bohemia Interactive merge the "anti-hack" changes to the STABLE branch. So, to join our servers for the next couple of days, you'll need to update your game to the DEV branch. Here's how: Open up your Steam Library Right-click Arma 3 and select Properties Go to the Betas tab Select Development Branch from the drop-down menu Press Close Your Arma 3 installation should then update itself to the DEV branch and you'll be ready to go! We'll let everyone know here as soon as we move back to STABLE. Thank you all for your co-operation and we hope to see you on the battlefield!
  10. Thanks for checking. So long as you keep the credit to Ahoy World in the mission, you're free to open and edit the mission as much as you like.

    Hello

Welcome, njmatrix! Glad to have you with us! Pop on TeamSpeak sometime and have a natter! Other than that, welcome once again and I'll see you on the battlefield.
  12. Heya Mach and welcome! Good to see you on the forums!

    Hi there!

Welcome, Roman! I do believe I'm yet to catch you on TeamSpeak, but hopefully soon I'll get to have a natter with ya.
  14. Why hello, Bozon! Good to see you around, laddy! I do hope we meet on the battlefield again sometime soon!
  15. Damn it, danne! That was my line! Welcome, Operator. Hope to see you in-game soon!
  16. Moved this to the News & Events forum and slammed it on our Facebook page. 'tis also worth mentioning that, on top of this blinding success, we've also now reached over 20,000 hours played by players in our EU server. That's 2.3 years! It's fantastic to see all my hard work result in so many people enjoying their ArmA experience. Thanks for the homage, Repeatz. I'm going to do the same thing for all of you who play with us, administrate our servers and take part in the community; it's because of you fellas that this has gotten as big as it has and I hope you all stick with us now and in the future. This is exactly what I had hoped Ahoy World would become and, though I created the place, I am wholly and absolutely honoured to be a part of it. Good work, fellas. We've reached infinity; now to head for the beyond.
  17. At work so I can only be brief. Try using the tutorial over at the BIS forums. Using that method, you can run a dedicated server from your own machine. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?147537-Tutorial-How-to-run-ArmA3-server-on-a-dedicated-server
  18. Thermal Armour sounds so, so frickin' cool.
  19. Welcome to Ahoy World, m'lad! As fergie said, glad to see you're enjoying the mission so much! We're enjoying making it! Head on to TeamSpeak and say hello sometime. Also, we've just acquired a US server which might get you a little better ping.
  20. I like that white computer; it looks like something out of Portal, like if the Portal Gun could run Windows.
  21. I don't get too into hardware, but my setup, if you're interested is: 1 x 128GB SSD Windows OS installed + select few programs 2 x 2TB HDD One of these is my "Applications" drive and the other is my "Data" drive. You can guess what goes on each one.
  22. Hiya andie and welcome! To add to what fergie said, the next version will include optional revive, so you won't have to fiddle around adding that.
