  1. Yep. Absolutely fine as long as you make sure to credit the original creators (us). Glad you like the mission so much. Keep an eye on these forums for news regarding I&A 3.
  2. I&A has now been updated to be compatible with the beta! We've also added a number of new vehicles and troops available to make the most of the beta content. Check the top post for the download! So you're all aware, I&A 3 is currently in development (giving us a massive chunk of new features alongside better optimisation, gameplay and the like). We'll keep supporting I&A 2 and make sure it's compatible with the latest updates, but we won't be adding any new functionality. If you'd like to track / help with I&A 3 development, let one of the Core Staff know (myself included).
  3. We are currently shifting focus over to what will become I&A 3. We'll ensure I&A 2 works with the beta, but will not be providing any major updates until I&A 3 is released. More details on I&A 3 will come soon, but from recent talks it's shaping up to be bloody good.

We're currently suffering a large DDoS attack and are working with our hosting companies to resolve the problem as quickly as we can. Thank you for your patience. We'll keep you updated.   7. IP.Chat's been around for years, though the chat servers have to be externally hosted by IPB, meaning there's a pay-per-month cost I'd rather avoid.
  8. An interesting thought, this. We did once have a shout box up and about, but that was before the site was used enough to have enough content in there. We then had an equally not-at-all-used IRC server that people could use, though that went down pretty sharpish too. Seeing as administrators are usually sat on TeamSpeak, I'd rather have all chat funnel into there as opposed to having two separate channels of instant chat going on. Ergo, the ideal solution would be to have a shoutbox-esque block that's hooked up to TeamSpeak chat. For that, we need a developer. I may post this in the jobs board...
  9. Following some testing, users can expect the EU ArmA servers to be down from 18:00 - 20:00 GMT on 6th June 2013 as well as intermittent TeamSpeak outages. While I expect the servers will be up in a lot less than 2 hours, please be patient; we'll be reorganising our entire set-up so need some time to ensure everything is working before allowing everyone to flood in again! So, thank you for your patience, apologies for the inconvenience and we'll see you soon.
  10. Hiya folks, As the beta draws closer, it's time we thought about the future of I&A. Built from the beginning of the Alpha, it's been created to quickly follow updates and hug the ever-updating curve that is the development of ArmA 3. However, we want to make I&A a more long-standing, expandable mission and to do that we need to plan. I&A 3 will be the definitive version, allowing us to churn out content more easily than ever before and provide a smooth experience for players, administrators and developers alike. This weekend will be host to a number of I&A 3 meetings to decide on every element of the user experience. The dev team will then go away and work out how all this will work in the back-end while also keeping the mission easily-expandable for other developers and providing inexperienced users with easy ways to add content such as Side Missions, Sub Objectives, Main AO Objectives, Priority Targets and brand new Ghost Missions. If you would like to be a part of these talks, please state your interest as soon as possible and be sure to be in TeamSpeak at the required time. The first talks will be: Saturday 8th June 16:00 - 19:00 GMT Sunday 9th June 11:00 - 14:00 GMT These times are subject to change if key members cannot attend, so make sure to check back here in case of any updates.   11. Apologies there's been no official word on this so far. What we'll most probably be doing is keeping Ahoy+ as it is whilst pushing the donation side of things. Currently, purchasing Ahoy Coins is the only way (albeit a bit backwards) to donate to Ahoy World with a one-off payment. Seeing as Ahoy Coins don't do anything yet due to ArmA 3 Alpha instabilities, we'll close purchasing of those down and instead just put up a publicised area to donate however much you would like.
  12. There are actually some radio-chatter-esque sounds that sound good when looped (we currently use one of them for viewing the UAV, though it's very quiet). We could just slam those in there and then we wouldn't have to slam the filesize up at all.
  13. Think this is fixed in my dev version at home but I haven't pushed it yet. Should just need the minimum distance from spawn upping from 800m to 1.5km.

  19. Had another three subscriptions since this thread was posted. You are all fantastic. We're just on the brink of grabbing that new server (which, may I add, is a six-core, hyper-threaded beast with 64GB RAM).
  20. Pro tip: when viewing a list of threads, click the timestamp (e.g. Yesterday, 05:52 PM) on the right side to go straight to the last unread post.
  21. Fantastic work, wok. My suggestion for the vehicle speed would be to require that the vehicle is stationary before activating the script (you'll always get some people who want to just drive through and they'll get annoyed if they're suddenly stopped for repairs). Just a check on speed _veh would suffice. When I get back (currently not around due to moving out (for the first time!)), I wanna grab you and go through what I have in mind for dialogs in I&A.
  22. The @Mentions "mod" would be a better pick, though I haven't needed to fork out money for any IPB modifications yet. If its that urgent feel free to buy the mod and implement it, but I'd say it'd be better to wait for when I'm back or try and get George to give it a whack?
  23. Side Missions can already be failed, there's just not a Side Mission, currently, that can be failed. A basic example is the Talk to Contact Side Mission. This can be failed if the contact dies for any reason. I only removed that due to some addAction JIP issues, though the functionality for that is already there. In regards to the missions, there's lots planned and I'm just trying to finish off the template-loader for them so that we can easily write them. So you're aware, what I'm working on will mean I can confidently write multiple Side Missions every single day. The loader will take some time, but the rewards following it will be vast. Also, the plans we have for Side Missions are slightly different from some suggestions. Quoting from the guidelines I've written in one of our templates:
