In the past there was an issue with the smoke and its inaffectiveness against AI meaning people would put up smoke cover and then be shot through it because hostiles could still see you.

It is possible to disable the smoke by removing a couple of files, That is how I have mine setup. It isn't really hard to do at all just remove some files

  2. Good day!

I have developed this small guide on Squad on the Ahoyworld servers to demonstrate the basics of infantry combat and the different roles available. Lets get started!

    How to Join

To join the Ahoyworld server you must go into the 'Custom servers' Tabahoy.thumb.jpg.f6f50e47e36471b88589d7b05c2ba8ea.jpg

Scroll down the list and look for server name [ENG] EU1 Ahoyworld.net (if server is empty make sure you go to filters and select 'show empty servers')image.thumb.png.0593e5860ff5623b5c3899521eb1f275.png

    First Steps

Once you have successfully loaded into the server you may begin by picking or creating a squad. Do this by pressing enter and clicking create a squad or join a squad. Afterwards you will want to pick an available role which you think you are capable of, for new players it is recommended you take Rifleman, Rifleman LAT or Auto rifleman, Medical and Squad Leadership is easy to get a hold of when you think you have the basic combat experience necessary to take these roles.

Once you are in remember to listen to your Squad Leader and utilise all of your weapons for an effective squad, Scroll wheel usually displays your inventory at the right hand side of the screen.

    Vehicles

Squad allows players to enter many variations of vehicles, Such as basic Humvee's or Transport trucks up to a BTR manning a 30mm cannon. Destruction of vehicles can inflict tickets on your team however and can be the factor between a win or a loss. Make sure you use the vehicles responsibly and remember that they are not invincible, Players will bring Anti Tank weaponry.

    FOB's

FOB's are deployed by your squad leader placing down an FOB radio which must be resupplied regularly by Logistical Trucks.

FOB's in squad are a very important factor for your entire team (Not just your squad) FOB's allow you to fortify and deploy emplacements such as DShK's and 50 cal's or Mortar emplacements to suppress the enemy. The most important part of FOB's are the ability to allow your team to spawn at them, This is done by placing a HAB which your Squad Leader is able to place in the radius of the FOB Radio.

    Squad Leader

As squad leader you are the Commanding Bigwigs of the team, You must coordinate with other squads using the Squad Chat activated default by 'G'. It is important that you understand what you are doing and that you are familiar with the servers rules. Listen to advice from Squad Members or anyone on your team as the decision you make could be a life or death mistake.

    Conclusion

To finish my guide I would like to say that squad is a game for new and experienced players and that even if you have no playtime in the game don't be afraid just to ask what you should do. As people will rather have someone willing to learn and gather experience than someone who is running around shooting at trees.

Short and simple, with the massive spread that the cluster strike has, 90% its going to teamkill somebody, think about it, it just isn't the smartest choice of weapon in the toy box.

I actually believe the Laws of War update adds bomb CAS to vanilla, If so maybe just use a standard bomb instead, Quite as a deadly with less spread.

  4. Actually I believe the Minefields in I&A were removed because AI killed themselves on it, I may be wrong. And coming to that point the minefields around the radio tower were large amounts, Dozens of mines were placed around it whereas UXO's are less, Somewhat around 3 to 10 probably.

In terms of this being used as a TK weapon, I expect this to be accidental on most cases, Since it should be a support type which can be used at high amounts of points, 200 or more probably.

  5. 3 hours ago, Cryo said:

I feel the TK's already incoming. Add on top of it that some ammo doesnt detonate and you also have some discount mines depending on the placement of the bomb.

Pfft, A plus for realism, But it could be a bit of an issue. I dunno if there is a way to disable it but if so maybe consider it

  6. So in I&A as long as you have sufficient points you can call in scorcher, MLRS or cas support types, To extend the CAS maybe we could add the new cluster bombs in as support, Since it is very powerful maybe have it a fairly high point requirement, anyway plain and simple.

On Stiletto, pretty much anybody can pick up a short-range AT launcher, so having a "Rifleman LAT" is kinda pointless.

I also agree with this, I would say let the squad leader decide if rifleman should bring extra ammo for AR's or for themselves or maybe bring an LAT like you say. I think the rifleman should be a customisable role at the SL's discretion, since you may not even need AT for a certain mission.

I My opinion Sounds great. But IF Would be a scorcher there should be some kind of  limit on who uses it. Seen many morons with a mortar.

Well the reward doesn't necessarily need to be the vehicle you are tasked to repair, it can just be like standard Side Missions.

  9. So while I was being boring I thought of an idea for yet another side mission.

The idea is that a vehicle, such as a tank or artillery tank etc has been disabled in combat and CSAT have discovered it, they have teams in the area and are trying to get it operational again. The players must take out all CSAT forces and acquire a repair specialist to repair it. When repaired reward would be given to the players.

  10. I'm no creative type, But maybe something like 'Eliminate the viper team' Pretty much a small defended garrison filled with 6 or so vipers who are fully skilled and difficult to kill, Along with that maybe some standard ground troops patrolling but keep it balanced. Vehicles could also have a play but I would keep it to APC's and Cars.

  11. I'm not going to be too critical until this DLC actually comes out but in my eyes other than the campaign it just looks like a bunch of new civilian assets which you can use in your mission, Though it does have some cool features like the drones which drop leaflets and stuff. I can see a separate faction being added to missions for players to try this new role on the battlefield.

  12. Little suggestion, Don't have one big crowd listening to the one person, If it were up to me have 2 or 3 smaller groups to have less congestion, For example if it were helo training it is gonna be a mess if there is 20 heli's following just one person. Same can go for ground vehicles, Maybe Infantry is not so much an issue, but it is still somthing to consider.
