  1. Trying out Patrol Operation 4, with some minor edits to make it compatible with the modpack. Standard rules apply, there will also be held a small indtroductory talk ingame on how the mission works and some additional info about some mechanics brought by the modset. MSO Modset : HERE no signups required!
  2. Nope, thats the ilbe packs interchangable radio antennas. The backpack radioes issued to squadleads and command.
  3. AAR 28/7-17 Due to the troop chief being captured AW forces had to make a plan on the whim to find and retrieve the troop chief. When the compound was found a significant number of enemy combatants of a 3rd party in this conflict was found. Seemingly heavily funded sporting the latest gear they put up a significant fight against our forces, but we prevailed at last and secure the Troop Chief who had been subjected to advanced interrogation techniques. AAR 28/7-17 Due to what seemed like a more sub par session than the latter due too a couple of factors that we discussed in the debrief held after the session, I am proposing that I can hold a lesson in squad-leading for everyone who wants to come. Seeing as the main factor for the failed push was when the squadlead got shot and taken out that there was no next sucsessor for 2 of the teams and that in turn halted the momentum drastically. If you as a player is interested in said lesson just send me a pm and ill start organizing it.
  4. AAR 28/7-17 Forces where tasked with patrolling two towns then pushing up the green-zone clearing out any insurgents that they may have come across. Due to heavy presence in the towns, forces where halted from pushing towards the green-zone. In-Transit Troop Chief Christiansen was taken hostage by a 3rd unknown party. Negotiations are seemingly falling for deaf ears. -High Command,Kinduf Airbase.
  5. All rhs scopes have a 3d option, press esc ingame -> rhs options and change optivs style to 3d. Then you will get all the rhs acogs etc. in 3d (the ones that support it)
  6. So trying out a new style of debrief for this session. The OPorder for the session will be displayed first then the AAR afterwards. Oporder: AAR: I know some pinged me on ts for a reconnect\JIP but I didnt see the pings before we where finshed witht the session and take note that I fucked up and somehow turned off respawn when compiling the mission before it went live as I had been experimenting with some respawn options. This will be fixed for the next session so that you can actually respawn and not be stuck in spectator. This error was my fault and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I will also be adding two more teams so that in case there are more players than it where this session we can cater to them too.
  7. General Info This mission is a multi session operation or MSO for short. If you played MSO in A2 you will know what the general idea is, if not: MSO is a mission that is designed to take multiple sessions to complete. How multiple session is handled is that after each event I hold, the server\mission state gets saved to a database. Mission Specific Info Mission This time we are going to Afghanistan, see warning order for more info. Player squads 1x CMD element: CMD,TAC 3x Infantry Squads: SL 4xRFL MED Time of event(recurring): Fridays @ 1800UTC Signup form[SQUADLEADS only]: HERE Modset link( separate from AWE ) : ftp://mods.ahoyworld.net/124TH/.a3s/autoconfig Warning Order
  8. De-Brief 19/05-17 After a quick restock and rearm, units set out to take the area around Al-Fuah and root out any opfor in the nearby towns, as I plan to use Al-Fuah as the staging area for the last push towards the NE airfield. After LOGI transported the units deep into enemy territory, units set out to clear land towards Al-Fuah and then push into Karasu. Upon entering the town of Karasu, due to unknown reasons a civilian got shot, rapidly waking the town and making the village elder call the local opfor garrison sending specialist troops to defeat us. Our units suffered alot of casualties and forced the remainder to fight in close quarters while retreating to Al-Fuah. After this endex was called. De-Brief 26/05-17 Due to numbers being low, a single crucial objective was chosen and units ordered to pack their parachute for a low altitude jump at night. During the drop most of the units was scattered along a line that was around 2km long, after some time everyone was reorganized at a nearby lighthouse. There was one casualty in the drop, how he met his fate is unknown. The main objective was briefed in-field and orders to ASL was as follows: Push through Sanobar,Al-Safyrah clearing any contact and capture the nearby airfield, as this gives us a longer runway to use in case its needed. Units pushed through with light contact in both towns, but room clearing was skipped for the most part so there may be OPFOR still in the towns. Upon assaulting the main airfield forces took 3 casualties to a DSHKM and let a MI-8 take off, its unknown what was on that chopper or where it was headed too. This session was ended here as numbers where low and I was content with what was achieved with the number we had.
  9. So to clarify any misconceptions some may have, MSO is still active, there are obly 2 dates coming up that means im not fonna ru them but i have secure another pltco for those, so tgere should be no hold in the original plan of "Every Friday @ 1800UTC"
  10. INB4 random accidents\dissapearments from staff
  11. Depending on if it goes smoothly it will be held later after its moved, if not it will be postponed to next Friday =) Sorry for any inconvenience this will make
  12. De-Brief 21/04-17 Since the turnup for this evenings event was a little low, it was decided that a mechanized foot-patrol to Al-Quisa was the best order of business. So Alpha was filled as best we could with the amount of players that where in the waiting room at the starting time, and we waited 25minutes for some stragglers and newcomers to get in, and the people that JIP'ed was teleported to the front lines cause I wanted to keep the action level up. I am sorry for the guys who had just come on for their first time that you didnt get a proper intro as I was in the field with Alpha and didnt have time to give you the 101 for what MSO is. Alpha moved out with a MRAP to Al-Quisa and when hitting the suburbs of the town got pinned down by a truck mounted ZSU which promptly went to town on the MRAP and took out its wheels and punctured the fuel tank. Alpha then maneuvered to take out the truck and when succeeding that went on to engage hostile forces in the town of Al-Quisa, sustaining some casualties when they didn't think 3D-landscape because of some units that where mounted on the roofs of high buildings. After satscans showed no more enemy forces in the town ENDEX was called when friendly forces where back at FOB Orion.
  13. So I found the bug with why the mission wouldnt load, apprantly reverse_thrust does something to warrant the hold on map screen, in my and the servers .rpt i cant see anything that should do it, ALiVE is initialized and it just hangs... SO that said, mission is good to go again =) Either tonight at the same time or next regular schedule.
  14. Be advised, modset has been updated with freshest RHS so get to updating if you are coming to this evenings event.
  15. SO, a reaaaaaly late debrief inbound as well RL prevented me from sitting down and writing this. De-Brief 31/3 After reorganizing all the new players and kitting out again Alpha and LOGI set out on a mission to recover and repair the vehicles left behind in the citiy where most of our forces where wiped out last session. After some intermediate contact, Alpha managed to secure the town and LOGI set to work repairing what could be repaired. After the HEMMTs where saved LOGI with a detachment of Alpha units providing security traveled approximately 1km to where the extraction happened last time as there where some MRAP's and HMMW's left at the site due to the extract needing to happen ASAP. They secured the compound and all units regrouped at the town N of the airfield. After this Alpha was tasked with securing the airfield and LOGI stayed back to fuel up all vehicles. After some light contact Alpha squad lead managed to get off an AT4 towards the SAM launcher before getting mowed down by a stationary ZSU truck. The AT4 flew straight and true impacting the SAM launcher causing it to explode after a short while. Unfortunatly the server crashed after this and I made the decision to gather all units at the main base to organize a tandem C-130 insertion at the airfield as it in theory was secured by the events preceding the crash. At 0845 in-game time Northern Star and Southern star lifted off from the main base proceeding to do a staggered insertion on the now SAM free airfield at grid 047089. At 0852 Northern star touched down and made it off the runway intact, but on close inspection the runway is a bit too small to safely land a C-130 on and make it to a taxi way, but the pressing matter of securing the airfield took priority. Southern Star touched down safely a couple of minutes after. I had decided beforehand to call ENDEX after the touchdown as running only Alpha for the next maneuver is not as viable cause of the fatigue on the players after 3.5 hours of playing and the crash didn't boost morale. De-Brief End
  16. De-Brief 24/3-17 This event's task was to take the city of Al Tabqah and then clear towards the airfield where the suspected first SAM site was located. Following some relatively uneventful troop transport towards the town, both A and B hit heavy contact in the suburbs of the city. After a good 1.5 hours of battling enemies and clearing the town we had some disconnects and I lost zeus access and couldn't supply the forces with lost gear after a RS. After 10minutes of reorg, A and B set out to clear a compound marked by intelligence as a occupied facility, but upon entering was found to be clear. Then I gave order to move to a small town outside the airfield to prepare for the final push. When we hit the town we had light contact from one of the flanks and A\B setup a quick 360 and ordered Logi to move into town,as they where trailing the main forces to keep out of combat. Then... Armor contact was called on the comms and .5 seconds after 60-70% of the main infantry force was decimated by flak fire of a Shilka that crested the hill from the airfield. The reinsert of said forces didn't either go to plan as the person who just took the chopper instead of getting Logi to fly(they have sole possession of said asset) flew to high and found out why the flight ceiling was below 30 m. As all forces where scattered and no proper chain of comms could be established to remaining forces in the field, i took a executive desicion and placed a task for all remaining forces to gather in a small compound about 900m S of the town where i flew the chinook in and extracted the forces back to the FOB. Endex was called and the remaining online SL's and me had a small chat about the events. De-Brief END So this was a more chaotic session then I would have liked to have, with comms issues and general impatience. This has been discussed with the involved parties and a consenus has been made that we could do better. I for one love these sessions from a command POV and hope that people generally like them even tho its different in play style and general setup compared to AWE with almost no HUD and first-person only. I for one will bring fresh excitement and commitment for the next session and hopefully we will have a more painless play-thru next session without the server kicking the bucket and me loosing zeus to alleviate any gear problems that may occur in arma's sometimes unfairness. See you next session - Kenny
  17. Repo has been updated to accommodate the fix for persistency[Remove R3F and uneeded mods]
  18. Depends on what feedback i get from the ALiVE devs regarding the .rpt. On the note of starting over, i have setup a FOB where the old one was in the mission file so that we can focus on the next hurdle.
  19. De-Brief 3/3-17 So its gonna be a short de-brief for the first op as there are some more pressing matters i need to inform about. Alpha and Bravo successfully landed at the indicated beachhead and almost immediately was met by a mechanized force consisting of a BTR and 4 squads. They maneuvered to take take it out and upon doing so crossed the first of two bridges before getting to where i indicated where we where going to hold until LOGI successfully setup the FOB. After crossing the first bridge A and B split off securing two town at each end of the small island they where on, in the town they hit heavy ressitance but suffered no casualties after fierce resistance. Holding there while waiting for LOGI to get in with needed medical supplies they established a LZ in the middle of the crossroad on the island. When LOGI was taking of a GAZ managed to damage one of the rotors on the Chinook and they lost control and crashed between LZ Alpha and Phase line Bravo, A and B valiantly started treatment of the units that managed to survive the crash and they also recovered much of the needed building materials and supplies. After a short regrouping A and B set off to secure the perimeter defense line to let LOGI build in peace. After some more probing of our defenses along the line, LOGI managed to setup the FOB and I called ENDEX. De-Brief END Now for the more pressing matters: Persistence failed, I dont know whats causing this yet as I am investigating but I have a feeling it was the 1.68 update, but when I run the persistence in debug I will get a more clearer picture.
