    • Tactical commander will order the convoy and any desired ground-based escorts to drive the route to Minakh.
    • Helicopters will fly alongside the convoy while jets take off and assume loitering positions and await CAS calls from tactical commander.
    • In the event a jet or helicopter is shot down any CSAR helicopters will recover the pilots.
    • Once the convoy has reached their destination helicopter flights may land at Minakh while jets return to Hatay and Carriers.

    Situation

Logistics being dumb has struck again and left us with no GPS guided bombs. To add insult to injury they also forgot to stock up on fox 3's, heads got to roll...

Well making use of an awkward situation command has us doing a low-level bombing run on Sochi-Adler.

After last times VIP escort command has decided we need to disable the runways and blow the infostructure sky high.

The airfield is protected by an SA-3 and a few short-range air defence systems in the mountains leading to the target, those we cannot pinpoint for you beforehand, relay on your SA pages and the MK1 eyeball. At least we still have some harms in storage.

    What is Operation Oasis?

Operation Oasis is my next step in DCS mission making. It is the test bed mission I am using to learn the ways of Moose scripting and move away from the ways of Escalating Terror with its hundreds of triggers.

Oasis is not replacing Escalating Terror as the 24/7 mission. You can find it in the map voting system, type -help in chat for details on how to load the mission. This will ideally give those who own or are trialling Syria the opportunity to play together on a different map and in a environment that can be tailored to community desires.

    Goals for Operation Oasis

    - Be easily moved around map locations (from south side to north, etc)

    - Be easily ported between maps (from Syria to Falklands, etc)

    - More base capture oriented (have more of a goal to it than just kill)

    - More replay ability (less predictable enemy locations as we see in ET)

    Current State

Pls note the mission does not currently have any restart system so will just remain up non stop, restarter in future update. Best to map vote back to Caucasus before you leave.

Oasis is currently in a very basic form to test some basic features.

    - Completely random enemy positions

    - Red CAP systems

    - Red respawn systems

    image.thumb.png.1f06e83b2d0c5ebafcbbadc5fc534b9f.png

Low Threat area is ideal for those who do not want a long travel time or high risk of being shot down.
Units in the area consist of:
    - Technicals
    - Tanks
    - Fortifications
    - Infantry

The Medium Threat area is ideal for those who want some danger in their life.
Units in the area consist of:
    - Short to Medium  range SAM
    - Technicals
    - Tanks
    - IFV/APC
    - Red CAP

The High Threat area is perfect for those looking to live on the edge.
Units in the area consist of:
    - Medium to Long Range SAM
    - Red CAP

We have been charged with escorting the VIP for the duration of the flight through hostile airspace.

This mission is all very short notice leaving us just 1 hour to sanitise the area before the VIP arrives for escort at 09:50 in game time.

  15. You got warned then grounded, congratulations your not the first.

Having been grounded for *checks notes* 60 minutes, having gone AFK (or just sat there eating, more on that at the end) in the slot then on return refusing to go get inside a helicopter and sit still

on the helipads in favour of stand at pilot spawn and attempt to argue the awaiting request and trying to quote rules to the staff member warning you. *of which you got plenty of warning*

You got told you were not playing your role, refused to move from standing in spawn to sitting in a helicopter on the pads, with plenty of warning from staff. It was made clear no grey areas plain and simple, staff has the final say.

In conclusion you are not happy that you were grounded and you are now writing out 3 page essays to make it look like it’s an everyone problem when it’s a you problem, at least that’s my takeaway.

On a whole we have “grey areas” in the rules on purpose as EU1 is a public server and all sorts comes up and no one line in a rule will cover everything, it’s why we have moderators that can make decisions on the fly in the moment that best suite the mission/server.

Just before I sign off, is this whole stand your ground and argue awaiting request and grey areas in the rules so you could sit at base, do nothing and keep the limited pilot slot while you eat your meal?

Reconnaissance has identified key locations serving as radio communications facilities to sabotage or capture. Reports of quick-response Forward Operating Bases as well as supply depots around the island are also coming in.

    Mission

Gain a foothold and fortify our position. Capture strategic objectives. Establish favourable relations with the local populace.

    Execution

    At CMD’s discretion.

Section cohesion is of utmost importance. The enemy outnumbers us greatly and will not hesitate to exploit gaps in our situational awareness.

Counter-attacks and a general resistance to our efforts will ask for quick shifts in our tactics.

    Admin / Logistics

Reinforcements are unlimited and directed by CMD. Resupply is CMD’s prerogative.

Enemy prisoners of war (POW) are to be treated well and brought to base for questioning.

The Logistics team has full discretion as to the fortification of our FOB under CMD's guidance. If no other tasking, default to supply and POW escort.

    Command / Signal

Operations and ground control lie solely with the Platoon Commander. The RTO handles air traffic and can supplement communications.

Support unit slots are under Platoon Command's prerogative and can be asked to reconsider their slot, but never forced to give them up in favour of another player. All units must be tasked fairly.

  20. AhoyWorld vs The USSR

    image.thumb.png.cff95bade380afed2e80876136144286.png

    Situation

Following the nuclear exchange the USSR has outed a rogue general that ordered the nuclear strike on the the coalition in order to avoid further nuclear escalation.

They have provided his rough area, a corridor for our flights to fly through, deactivated their SAM's along the route and set up a basic FARP for our helicopters to operate from. This is not without conditions.

    Conditions:

The strike must be conducted with a laser guided bomb.

No other USSR personnel or equipment may be killed or damaged.

Our flights must remain in the cleared airspace.

If any of the provided conditions are breached the USSR will view it as an attempt to strike further targets and will order all CAP and SAM's to engage.

It can be noted he drives a distinctive collectors item UAZ, no other USSR forces in the area drive this car. (see cover photo)

    Mission

Kill the rogue general with a laser guided bomb.

    Conditions of the strike:

The Strike must be conducted by a laser guided bomb.

No other USSR personnel or equipment may be killed or damaged.

Our flights must remain in the cleared airspace.

Additional cavoite, the laser must be provided by a secondary aircraft and only one aircraft may carry the bomb(s). As many laser guided bombs may be carried as desired but only on one aircraft.

These conditions may be followed for no a low threat attack or breached for high threat attack.
