  1. It's a nice idea, but it has a few flaws. 1. Due to the requirements of being so close to enemies and far away from friendlies (and because most players would just hit 'respawn' as soon as they die), it would be a very rare mission, meaning that most players wouldn't understand the mission when it happens. 2. Considering that players don't usually bother doing side missions that give nice rewards, I wouldn't expect them to care much about a hostage mission either. 3. Because of the two above points it seems quite unlikely of a hostage ever being rescued, which means that the captured player will have to wait 15 minutes only to be executed, which seems a bit unfair. HOWEVER An alternative to your idea would be to simply add hostage rescue missions to the list of side missions, where the hostages would just be AIs.

Convenient for you to start the chat log there even though I was asking for help long before that. I'm aware that you did eventually respond, but my point was that I didn't get any response from my earlier messages (not shown) asking for an admin. As I said in the chat, the "Fuck you" was not directed at you but to Apfelringe63114, as he was refusing to put me down. I know that Apfelringe63114 did "apologise", however I don't believe that he meant it at all, as he was intentionally trolling, which is why I said "legitimate apology". The only "abusive comment" towards the admin was "stfo", as he had said nothing to the pilot who was trolling and damaged my jet, but said "he put you on a runway where you can take off safely" and "so you can carry on your merry way", yet a few F words from me and I need to be permanently banned...

Ingame Name: Jason Why do you think you were banned?: (sorry for the long post but I feel like I need to explain the whole situation) I was landed on an airfield (not the base) in the AA buzzard because there were no enemy jets/helicopters, the radiotower was down and it would be a while until the AO would finish, so I was waiting for the next one. Whilst I was waiting a pilot in the huron flew up to me, picked the jet up, flew it back to our base, and then dropped it on the ground which resulted in damage and breaking my landing gear (could not retract), so I would then need to wait 5 minutes to get it serviced again. The pilot never asked me if I wanted to be picked up or said anything at all until he was already flying with me attached. I messaged him many times telling him to stop what he was doing, as well as asking for an admin to help me, I never got a response. Understandably I was very frustrated by what had just happened as well as the pilots lack of legitimate apology and getting no help from the admin even though there was one online (mykeyrm). I did swear using the F word about twice towards the pilot, but that was pretty much it for insults. Why (in your personal opinion) should your ban be lifted?: Obviously I regret using those insults as it's not something I normally do. Personally I feel that the ban is very unjustified as it's quite a stretch to ban me for abuse because of just a few small insults, I've seen far worse behaviour from other players (including admins) and nothing is done about it. I never killed him or damaged him in any way. I play on the server almost everyday for many months now and I've never been banned before or gotten into trouble over my language. I'd like to think that I'm a positive influence on the sever as I'm pretty active in the chat, helping out newer players with questions and giving general advice. Which administrator banned you (ArmA 3 only)?: mykeyrm When were you banned?: 15/09/15 about 11AM GMT UID: 76561198038594132

  5. I'd also really like to see some kind of training event for the newer players (like myself). Although I've read all the guides that are on here, I would feel much better actually doing these things in-game rather than just reading them in a forum. Maybe every now and then (a month) you could run a training session to help bring all the newer players up to speed on the basics.
  6. Regarding number 4.1.4.3. "At the start of missions the pecking order for a pilot slot will be: Paying Subscribers, Teamspeak users, known pilots, anybody else. In the event of a tie, it’s first come first served." I've been on Teamspeak after a server restart so I understand how the pilots on Teamspeak are given priority, but how exactly do you give the slot to known pilots who aren't on Teamspeak?
  7. Wow those statistics are far worse than I thought. I don't know who thought it was a good idea to give so much to the pilots and so little to everyone else. I think that the ground rewards should make up around 70%-80% of all side mission rewards, since the ground forces make up over 90% of the players on the server. What I don't understand is why no admins (etc) have done anything about this yet, or at least contribute in some way to this issue. I can't imagine the changes would be too hard to implement, even if it's done as a trial to see how the changes to the rewards would effect the gameplay.
  8. I got this as well, I thought it was just me... So is there any fix or do we just wait for the mod to be updated?
  9. I also agree with this. I think that regarding the air rewards, the light attack helis should become the most common air reward, as they aren't OP and they can also still transport infantry. The BF and Kajman should be made MUCH rarer, if not completely removed. The A-10 should be replaced by the (weaker) Buzzard CAS, and possibly be made a bit more common (the A-10 is very rare). Unless we can get NATO skins for CSAT vehicles, it's a bad idea to have the Ifrit as a reward, also since we have Hunters (and should get Striders) there's no need. Some of my other ideas from my (old) rewards topic: "Taru Medical: I know this is already a reward vehicle, but I see it VERY rarely, so I think this chance of this spawning should be increased a lot as it's a very useful helicopter. Offroad variants: I don't quite know what is possible here, but we already have the mortar truck, so I was thinking it might be possible to add similar vehicles but with different weapons. For example, a titan AT/AA launcher or a 20mm cannon." To scar: I'll get you back!
  10. I am very familiar with the uses of sidescraping (I've played a lot of world of tanks!), but are you sure that it actually has any use in arma? I've never tested it, but I always assumed that the angle of the armour in arma (that looks weird) has no effect on the damage or penetrating ability of incoming fire. I may be wrong but I would have thought that it would be better to go front first around cover rather than exposing your weaker side armour (again assuming angles make no difference). I'd be interested to find out what the truth is.
  11. I agree that in most cases the rewards aren't abused because the guys in them have no idea what they're doing and die pretty soon, which I think partly explains why most people think these rewards aren't OP. But when people who know what they're doing use them, it's a very different story. For example when I was in the wipeout I was up for literally hours because as long as I don't make any stupid mistakes, there's nothing that can kill me . This problem doesn't exist so much which the other reward vehicles as they can more easily be taken out by enemy CAS. I agree that the default vehicles should be removed as rewards, it's just a wasted reward. Unless we can get NATO skins, I don't think it's a good idea for us to get CSAT rewards. I'm not too sure about your 2nd idea xenter. I think it would create too much focus on the rewards and people would get far more angry over who gets to use them. Personally I think the system we got at the moment is pretty good, it just needs a bit of tweaking. Surely it's better to have the buzzard respawn if people are crashing it, if it's a reward it would be even worse !
  12. For a skin mod like that, do other players need to manually download it themselves or can it just be loaded when they join the server? A few times I've seens players (admins I assume) using modded skins for their vehicles on the EU1 server, so clearly it's possible to have different skins without causing any problems for other players. Why would the Hunter GMG be such a problem when we already have other vehicles with GMGs and tanks that can do much more damage?
  13. I know the Hunter HMG is already very effective and popular to use against EI, but I just thought the GMG would add another option. I haven't had much experience with a GMG vehicle before, but from what you said then maybe it could just be a normal transport that could respawn with the other Hunters. I considered mentioning the Strider but I didn't think that it would add anything that the Hunter can't already do. But if it really it that much better then I'm sure it would be a good vehicle to add to the possible rewards. Also something else that should be changed with the current CSAT and AAF reward vehicles is their camo. There are plenty of mods that will reskin these vehicles to NATO standards, which would help differentiate them from the enemies. Anyway it's good to hear some more suggestions, hopefully others can pitch in as well!
  14. I think most of us can agree that the side mission rewards could do with some more variety. My suggestions: Buzzard CAS: This is my main suggestion and is the reason I made this post. We already have the wipeout, but I think it's just too powerful as it can easily be abused to take out all the armour at an AO by itself. The only way not to "abuse" it is to wait for guys in the ground to call you in, which is good in theory but in practice it never happens so you just end up flying around doing nothing. This is why I propose the CAS version of the buzzard, it has the same cannon as the other buzzard, and not the uber-cannon of the wipeout that can destroy anything from jets to heavy tanks with ease. It has only two ATGMs compared to the six on the wipeout, so it can still take out priority targets to help guys on the ground, but it cannot be abused to take out an entire AO. It has the same laser guided bombs but only 2 compared to the wipeouts 4, which for the same reason, is better to have less. Also being a buzzard it will handle the same as the jet that we're already familiar with, so would hopefully result in less accidents! Since it is a far less powerful CAS than the wipeout, it should enable the pilot to engage targets at his leisure without it being "abused", if the guys on the ground are silent. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the wipeout, I've had many fun hours in it on the EU1 server, but I just don't think it fits with the gameplay of the server. Hunter GMG: Nothing much to say here, it's just a nice fast transport for the guys on the ground. Taru Medical: I know this is already a reward vehicle, but I see it VERY rarely, so I think this chance of this spawning should be increased a lot as it's a very useful helicopter. Offroad variants: I don't quite know what is possible here, but we already have the mortar truck, so I was thinking it might be possible to add similar vehicles but with different weapons. For example, a titan AT/AA launcher or a 20mm cannon.
