  1. The majority of my steam screenshots are all kinds of glitchy, from overheating graphics card induced drug trips, to just plain old broken games

  4. This was more for the benefit of people that didn't know, but heyho. I'm excited either way.
  5. So, for those that didn't know (such as myself as of 15 minutes ago), the newest instalment to the Metal Gear franchise will be coming to Steam. As of the 18th of December Ground Zeroes will be released and at some point next year (likely to be in the first quarter), The Phantom Pain will be released also. Prices haven't been put on the steam store pages as of writing this and pre-purchase isn't enabled yet either. Hopefully the release date for TPP is released on the date that GZ becomes available to buy, but who knows. Anyhow, here's some links to the pages Ground Zeroes The Phantom Pain The minimum requirements to run GZ are as follows: OS: Windows Vista 64-Bit or later Processor: Core i5 SandyBridge 4Core (4 Thread) 2.7GHz or above Memory: 4 GB RAM or above Graphics: GeForce GTX 650 or above (AMD equivalent is the HD 7790) DirectX: Version 11 or above The recommended requirements to run GZ are as follows: OS: Windows Vista 64-Bit or later Processor: Core i5 SandyBridge 4Core (4 Thread) 2.7GHz or above Memory: 8 GB RAM or above Graphics: GeForce GTX 760 or above (AMD equivalent is the HD 7870 or R9 270x) DirectX: Version 11 or above The above is according to a recent news post on the GZ page. The AMD equivalents are after a quick google search to see whther I'd be able to run it.
  6. Are you one of those people that doesn't like the near future setting Bohemia Interactive went with? Dislike how the military will supposedly look in 2035? Absolutely hate the idea of the railgun tank? Then you may very well be interested in this. Thanks to Dyslexi from ShackTac providing a video on it, I (no doubt along with a hundred thousand or so others) have recently found out that someone is porting over the old Arma 2 content (DLC and OA content included!) into Arma 3, with the aim of taking advantage of the modular sights and attachments system as well as what else the arma 3 engine updates have to offer. Here's his video about it Who knows? If this gets popular enough and completed, BI may even notice just how much people seem to miss the bloody humvees and AR15 style weapons
  7. Aye, looks like it went down at twenty to nine last night http://www.tsviewer.com/index.php?page=userhistory&ID=971701
  8. I guess it could be to promote the pilots communicating and working together, have one act as a "fire ship" to draw fire or ram the bastard and allow the one filled with troops to deploy them.
  9. The JSRS guys are at it again, adding even more depth to an already impresive sound pack. Kinda puts what BI came up with to shame, as the little things are considered in this pack, like rain sounds in different environments! Also, sorry for the potential forum spam recently
  10. The Taru Lifting game is on a whole different level
  11. According to the forum thread, you can't switch out on the dedicated versions (I.E. the medical one can't drop its medical container) but the basic one can sling load logistics containers. Who knows? Maybe they'll add that option in, would be pretty neat. Why does it not surprise me that was from the 80's...
  12. As the title says, the latest dev branch build has all the assets for the Helicopters DLC in them, changelog here. However, some things are currently borked. No surprise there, "Something's bugged" might as well be BI's motto by now. The load-master of the Taru (The CSAT Skycrane look alike) currently has his neck snapped and faces the same way as the pilots along with the rather glaring issue that ownership isn't currently working, so everybody gets the "position locked" detail when they try and enter from the ground or move around the cabin. That last part only affects the Taru crew however, as the Huron doesn't let you move around. The passengers however, do not have this issue. They can now move from a regular passenger seat to one that is in a position to fire from the vehicle. That in itself is quite fun, sitting in the back of the transport variants with a LMG as you descend into a hellish LZ. So, wall of text into summary: New choppers are in; CSAT Tandem Rotor "Taru" (8 variants, potentially 16 once the black variants are added), Mini angular chinook look alike "Huron" (2 variants) and a civilian hummingbird "M-900" New skin for the armed Orca (I see what you did there BI...) Firing from vehicles is in there too, along with sling loading and the advanced flight model (Unsure how recent the former 2 are) So, here's a pretty thorough album of the two military choppers http://imgur.com/a/hJXqu#0 If anyone has any requests for pictures and can't be arsed DL'ing the dev branch update, leave a post on here or message me on steam
  13. Meatshiled slot for me (Read: Rifleman) please. Also, there's a small typo in the mission 5 summary
  14. Ladies and gentlemen, are you fed up of dying to CSAT forces because your character is incapable of opening a door? Annoyed about trying to enter a vehicle with a grenade launcher equipped (along with several different shell types)? Then frustrate yourselves no further, for some deity in a mortal body has provided the solution to Bohemia Interactives inane choice of interaction medium. Make sure to vote for them on their MANW entry, because lord knows that this is a sterling idea that should have been implemented during development. Release pending (Soontm)
  15. Count me in, clock me in as a meatshield A.K.A rifleman
  16. They were removed for RP purposes, kinda breaks the immersion when you can see that someone is being flown away despite being on the other side of the map
  17. To answer question two, you could try using the arma subreddit, they're normally pretty friendly about that kind of stuff. As to the other questions, I have no clue, someone else should be able to answer them for you
  18. Is there a way to turn off ABS on those bad boys so you ran re-create this?
  19. Here's the strider The Slammer (With what looks like an M113 in the upper left) And the Tempest truck
  20. Huh, I never knew that, you learn something new every day With the new update coming would it be possible to change the colour of an ifrit so that it's distinct from the ones that are normally spawned in? http://dev.arma3.com/sitrep-00053 I'll have a quick mess around in the editor once that update is out and see if any really stand out, I'll post a comparison as well should I find any
  21. Howdy folks, got a couple of suggestion that could hopefully improve the overall enjoyment from I&A (not that it isn't fun already, although those aimbot ai sure are a big damper...) so I'll just jump straight in and lay them out. An AA Buzzard; I've said this multiple times but an AA buzzard for the pilots upon start would really help to take care of the never ending stream of jets until the at or explosives guys can get their fingers out and blow up the radio tower. It would also reduce the dependence on AT guys having some sense to carry an AA launcher every know and then. Having it on a half hour re-spawn (or perhaps the same time as the UAVs) should discourage asshats incompetent jet pilots from taking them. Someone may have mentioned in another thread about removing enemy uniforms and some of their gear, I'd say that's a good idea up to a certain point, removing all the csat clothing and helmets would make a lot of sense as no-one can really wear them (at least on other peoples screens). Removing the AAF combat fatigues would also be a good idea but as there is a guerilla smock with a similar camouflage to the AAF fatigues, the MICH helmets should be kept in for those that like to play an "AAF deserter" (such as myself). Also, ditch the civvy clothing too, as sweet as it is you can't wear it because lol geneva convention (no clue why soldiers can't wear civvy clothing, not as if they'll ever have time off or anything) Give us less unarmed hunters and one armed strider in the same camo style as the current strider. For the love of god, the hunter is astoundingly shit compared to the other MRAPs in Arma, why so many are in base is beyond me (except maybe that their AMERICAN and essentially 10+ tonnes of FREEDOM and DEMOCRACY). Maybe two unarmed hunters, one unarmed strider and maybe even a re-skinned unarmed Ifrit to one armed hunter and strider. Set a time period of transport that has to be reached before you can fly a CAS jet. Stops the jet whores and asshats that think it's a practice arena, they want to fly them that badly, there's the editor for that. Simple as that. Perhaps instead of the two hellcats (as nice as they are having two of them makes it a bit boring to fly as it's the monotone green most of the time) have an orca (black variant, maybe script in flares for it as it has the same plight as the hummingbird) and a ghost hawk. The total transport seats from those two would be 18 instead of the hellcats combined 12 (neither of those numbers include co-pilots seating). And that's all the suggestions I have, hope they're at the very least considered and thank you for your time.
  22. Name's pancake, I play a lot on the ahoyworld I&A arma 3 server. Finally got around to making an introduction (took long enough!). I'm an engineering student (electrical) that enjoys playing video games in my free time, most of the time it's arma 3 or recently Thief (I have almost 300 hours clocked on A3) Not sure what else to say here to be honest so I'll part with what classes I enjoy playing on arma 3. I often try for a pilot slot if one's free, but if there are none available I tend to go repair specialist, AT rifleman or grenadier
