A Unit generally is a group of like minded individuals that like to either fully simulate or partly simmulate (millsim/realism) a regiment/division in Arma 3. This can include calling people by rank or even ''saluting'' in order to enhance the immersion for the players. Those are just two from the top of my head. Usually this has a core setup of players, which is usually the infantry but most of the cases it has alot of extra attachments around it, such as a Air wing or Armored platoons. And yes there are casual communitys that call themselves ''unit`s'' but imo they are not. They are just a community, which can be great fun too. Dont get me wrong!
Generally speaking, CO-OP is the way to go when talking about Arma units. . Just as we have sporadic gamenights, units have sporadic TvT nights (from my own experience).
I hope this helps. If you want to see a list of units to get an idea of how they do things check the official site from arma 3 units here:
https://units.arma3.com -
Pistolfreak, TvT is not something you should expect in an arma unit. It's usually only on occasions where Arma units play a bit of TvT.
When it comes to the flying, your 2 steps ahead of the entire unit. From what I understood of the guys in charge is that we are focusing on the infantry part first. Before that's all set up we are a long Way underway.
Imo: What Razor said: you also need extra armament. I personally think afm is cool, but that is more something for a more veteran unit. But then again, that is my opinion.

I am open to and interested in this, the only issue for me will be availability of time and wether or not that can be slotted into my schedule.
If the times line up then I will be interested in participating
Well, it`ll be something with a set schedule so I presume we will al find out if we can make said days. Apart from possible training days unit`s usually have 1 op every week in a campaign or something similiar. Is that what you have in mind Chris?

They are all processed and looked at, we comment at them and we proceed to develop them into missions or manuals or guides if they are suited for them.

I would have loved to join this but unfortunately not available at the time.
Have fun guys!

Thanks for the big reply Colsta.
If you still have questions please check the pinned threads in this sub forum, and feel free to contact eu3 moderators and/or members in ts.
I also suggest you check out some basic arma 3 guides. I think "shactac" has some good basic guides for serious players!
Oh and... Welcome!

I wonder since the new kid generation won't know dayZ for what it was if it will stay like this or if the community kind of "resets" in future arma titles. Hopefully...

Feedback:
- Waiting time was not enjoyable: I understand it's a zeus made mission but couldn't more stuff have been placed down and organized before hand?
- Desync: I remember Icy saying something about having it fixed after the first restart, which is good for future gamenight, but I had several AI bullshitery moments where desync dropped, I shot an enemy 10ish times then I was one shotted once the server caught up
- Dis-organization: not a host or Zeus issue, but there was an incident where alpha had cleared a town and outlying farm, was about to depart then was asked to investigate a parachute that had come down in the town, which was then told to be a crate, queue a 5 minute search that turned up nothing then command told us to disregard the search. After that it was small leadership irks, indecisiveness mostly.
- Med system: no clue what kind of state it's supposed to be in, getting knocked out by everything is annoying though, and only once did I wake back up to bandage my wounds.
- Loadouts: Wrong ammo given for some guns, TL's spawned in with 40mm grenade launcher ammo and no launcher on the rifle. Yet again no pistol ammo meaning they're just dead weight.
Thanks for your feedback. My answers:
1. The waiting was not because of the Zeus. Waiting is on command needing to get everyone set which takes a long time as you should know by now . I did create assets before hand, there was never waiting on the mission itself.
2. Desync was indeed not fixed, debugging in the coming days to fix it, something to do with a script executing on the server (loop). Very sorry about that.
3. I could create initial plan for platoon commander so it safes time. Idea?
4. You were very squishy as blufor, eu3 team is constantly trying to optimize it.
5. Noticed and already working on it !
Again, thanks for the feedback!

Will be third enabled. Dont ask why

ok, nice to get answers so fast. the uniform thing was actually what i was most worried about because formations are pretty much basic stuff but some people get super mad when i tell them to change their loadout around. atleast on public AW servers
Asking nicely will get you far, especially on eu3

Thanks, applied to Gamenight and probably future ones

Hoewever, before the main force arrives a small QRF of American soldiers whom where posted nearby have been ordered to migrate to the North-East airfield on the island of Antigua.
GAMENIGHT 9/1/16 RECAP
After one of the most bloody engagements of the Sahrani conflict in BAGANGO, where US Marines defended the town against most of the rebel forces, NATO has now turned into attacking mode with more of NATO`s designated forces arriving. Because of earlier captured positions such as the northern hills and the castle NATO now has full control of the Upper northen part of Sahrani, however insurgent activity is expected.
GAMENIGHT 16/1/16 RECAP
NATO forces engaged enemy strongholds near the town of EVERON and succeeded in clearing the forest south of the airfield. However, casualty numbers are shocking and Command needs to decide on how to lower these in future operations.
The barracks and the town were cleared out completely and civilians have started to move back into NATO-Occupied territory.
OPORD
SITUATION
The Joint Intelligence Committee assess that the threat of hostile military action in vicinity CORAZOL is now SEVERE, meaning an attack could occur at any time in the next two weeks and may do so without further warning signs.
