  1. Interesting that I see a lot of TL's carrying LR radios without ASL asking it and even using it when there's a functional chain of command online :/ When I'm in TL all I want to do is not to have a LR to focus on my job: get my team safe through the mission without chatter in 2 radios getting in the way, usually I even lower the volume on the short range and ask my team to use ingame voice in shouting so we can focus in the enemies instead of nonsense radio messages. If ASL disconnects during a mission, tough luck, I still have a 152 radio and with a quick numpad press in "8" I'm in vortex short range with a good 2km reach and can call him in if necessary. If the distance is bigger than what the SR can get to, then use the android and send him a message
  2. I think this is the big question that needs a answer. Rearranging the squads, removing/adding roles or rules won't change much of the question above: Why don't people take the leading role? Even when there's less than 10 players on, TL is most of the times the last role to be filled. I include myself in the "group of people" (no list available) that no longer chooses the leading role and my personal reason is mainly because people don't like others to tell them what to do and do whatever they want and its frustrating to try to lead or choosing the leading role having those past experiences. I've seen other people go past the same experiences while I was taking a lower role and I think there's mainly 2 problems with ASL role: People that appear that can't control the squads they have under them People that take ASL role as a Autorifleman and just get things done "alone" instead of giving commands to the TL's and so on Is I said in my personal reasons, I fit in the first option and simply choose not to take it anymore. I would like to hear other's opinions on this matter too.
  3. I've seen a lot of people disconnecting because they've been told that they can't play role X because of rule XY instead of re-slotting. Inserting that rule won't force people to take to slot or do much for the enjoyment of playing that role
  4. But you agree that we currently have a problem with ASL slot right?
  5. I too agree that the current role structure could be improved (seen to many _recent_ occasions where the SL disconnects (no matter the reason) or simply wasn't filled at all and the organization of the teams was close to negative. But... that proposed structure simply would only change to the same as A1 TL would be called ASL and A2 TL would be called BSL. I have another idea: Why not increase the size of the A1 team and eliminate the A TL roles? like: Alpha Squad Lead Alpha Medic Alpha AR 1 Alpha AR 2 Alpha AR Assistant (yes, 1 assistant for both AR's) Alpha Rifleman AT Alpha Rifleman AT Alpha Marksman Alpha Engineer In the latest server numbers usually A1 and A2 ins't filled totally so only in special ocasions Alpha would be full being a 8 + leader team. That is much more manageable giving the option for ASL to internally promote AR's in the battle (same as the TL roles) but limiting the choice of lead roles to 1 role instead of 3 (ASL, TL A1, TL A2).
  6. Join us in the Enhanced server (aka EU3) and have some fun, the people there are always friendly and glad to help just download some mods for it and you are ready to go!

  8. Unfortunately this time its me that can't make it, not sure if you cleared the signups but if not you can scratch me out. I hope that it will have a "bis" session some other day, from the testing I participated in, this is going to be a sweet mission
  9. The mission is still not in calendar, shouldn't it be up there already??
  10. I hate my voice on mic but what I hate more is that BRDM, now I know why Russian drink so much vodka is to forget the horrors of driving that peace of sh*t
  11. Radio_codes: It had happened to me too but in the last few days (weekend maybe?) I played the same mission in Fallujah as well and it worked fine... MAAWS crate: +1 to that too!
  12. Not sure if the the issue has been reported somewhere else but AT4 and M72 don't work correctly after today's ARMA3 update, the rocket apparently bounces on the ground/target and rarely you can hit it. Nicolai did some test after it and it seems that TF47, MAAWS and RHS RPG 7V2 work correctly.
  13. Today in Altis I had a clear shot at it (as AR) and it took around 10+ shots (blood animation for every hit shot) to take him down, not sure if that is a good metric or not
  14. Alpha 2 AAR has the option to save map markers, possibly a bug (seen in Takistan today, no clue the version version was 50H)
  15. For those (like me) that don't know what that is...what's push mode?
  16. Reporting bugs in a forum is easy (post a new thread, post in a ongoing thread = done) but for tracking purposes, not that easy, even for the one reporting the problem. Finding out if someone else as already reported the problem that you just found is even worst. So...has ever been discussed the possibility of introducing a bug tracker? there are several open source solutions that just need a few tweaking (enable/disable features) and are ready to integrate and are easy to manage. in a quick google search I got this: https://opensource.com/business/16/2/top-issue-support-and-bug-tracking-tools
  17. The mission to retrieve intel from the downed heli is bugged, there's no crate inside the helicopter to retrieve, seen twice in different days in Altis.
  18. That's where the preset radios come into the equation and only need TL to know what button to push
  19. [just posting as a new topic by ryko sugestion] In busy hours what usually happens is Alpha is full + 1 support (MAT usually) + 1 Vortex, but during the mission Bravo starts to fill up + another Vortex + others and its not ease to be under fire and keep alpha moving on the ground and re-plan what the other squad/teams will do. And that's where the additional channel radios come handy (if everything is already preset) and since we can have preset radio channels, why not have: Default Alpha: 50 Default Alpha adicional: 50.1 (ASL + team leaders will have that preset in their 152's), even with only Alpha team full this can get handy. When things get messy in the radios, ASL can simply order TL to start using the adicional 51 freq and ASL will switch to another channel (e.g. command) That way if TL are out of contact, ASL can switch back to 50 and still be able to command the squad.
  20. More off-topic, but the ASL vs radio chatter really interests me. In busy hours what usually happens is Alpha is full + 1 support (MAT usually) + 1 Vortex, but during the mission Bravo starts to fill up + another Vortex + others and its not ease to be under fire and keep alpha moving on the ground and re-plan what the other squad/teams will do. 21. Maybe instead of that, if someone is doing something inappropriate or simply doing whatever they want, I guess you can spawn an enemy in his face and punish him on the spot with a following warning that if he was behaving correctly that wouldn't happen. I left when the running event started so I wasn't there after it, but did the running resulted in good behavior? My guess would be that it didn't.
  22. This is indeed a rant and also a critic. I agree with the rules of the server and always try to enforce them in the chain of command when leading any kind of team or reporting bad behaviors as necessary. But this post is not about that but regarding a specific situation that I'm not even aware of the reasons that cause it. Logging in the server and having the admins online forcing people to run down the air field to prove that the chain of command must be respected is not the way to go. If people don't respect rules/gameplay in server: 1) warn them 2) kick them 3) ban maybe? Admin abuse is never the answer. If I wanted to have punishments I would have joined the real army or just go into another type of server. I respect the work of the people that make EU3 work and I enjoy (very much) playing there. But I can't support these kind of atitudes and these were exactly the same reasons that made me take a break from Ahoy around 2 years ago, so basically I feel that nothing has changed, only the "faces".
