  1. Hello @CheesyChips I have reviewed your ban report and the ban report of @SarbuS. As part of the evidence in Sarbuses case you have been named the boss of a group actively advertising / recruiting on AhoyWorld servers. The rules of AhoyWorld are applicable on all our servers and services, they can be found by a number of ways, for example the forums, in-game on the maps screen and on our discord server as well. By playing on our server you accept these rules and abide to play by them. Claiming ignorance of the rules is in my opinion not a excuse in this case. AhoyWorld strives to deliver the complete package with game servers, Discord, Team Speak and forums. There are a great number of volunteers who do an excellent job of making sure a player should not be left wanting for much outside of the services we provide. We do all of this quite dependent on the donations from the player base we have and work hard to maintain, which in my eyes makes using our services as a recruiting platform quite a low blow. BAN APPEAL UNSUCCESFULL

Hello @SarbuS I have reviewed your ban report, which contains clear evidence of passing along discord info for your Discord group with added requirements of name changes for joining players, there is also reference to a command structure in the group in the form of naming a boss (@CheesyChips) for said group. This to me is an indication of advertisement and/or recruiting, which is prohibited by the rules of AhoyWorld. 3. The decision has been made and this discussion ends here. In the case of a permanent ban you can re-appeal in 6 months time.
  4. Hello @2ndLtMetalboy, Here we are again, with a second ban for recruiting and advertising. The MO and evidence is very much just like the last time. Last time I specifically said "I will take your word and remove the ban. I urge you to read the rules of Ahoy and EU1 once more to make sure there will be no more incidents. Repeat offenders very rarely get a second chance." We have also been made aware of advertising / recruitments attempts after your previous ban appeal. In light of this, the ban will stand as issued again. BAN APPEAL UNSUCSESSFULL
  5. Looking into it now. I've deleted the ban in RCON but it still insists you are banned.
  6. Hello @Dizkonnekted, I have reviewed the chat logs and have not really found anything to indicate a coordinated advertisement / recruitment attempt and thus I am going to take your word on mistakenly posting a discord server link instead of your discord profile link. I will however take this opportunity to point out that advertising and recruitment is in fact not allowed by AhoyWorld rules. I suggest reading the rules to avoid any future mishaps like this. BAN APPEAL SUCCESSFULL!

    Ban appeal retracted by user.
  8. Murph is free to express his view as are you Pickle. There is no need for you to be rude or to "put Murph" in his place as a spartan.
  9. @Pickle I don't think we would benefit much from a rule that is enforced partially or not at all. "Claiming all targets" so you mean kill stealing? One of the big realisations for me in Arma was, the score board really means nothing. Pilots don't get points for transporting people in I&A3, their impact on the server is still hugely important. Their importance is not diminished at all by the lack of points, more over people will start recognizing good pilots over time. Again UAV and CAS isn't directly comparable to the issue you have described. There is only one UAV slot and 5 pilot slots. All six of these slots are scrutinized more closely than any infantry role due to their specialized and limited nature thus I don't think you can draw a direct line between those roles and say AT or repair specialists. In your initial suggestion you mentioned limiting the use of Armour in the main objectives, hence the suggestion to play other objectives.
  10. How would you enforce a tank shooting HE at the enemy with an AT launcher taking out several enemies in a go? I'm going to guess the counter argument here is that they are playing their role by going out to the AO and completing the mission. Armour makes it quite easy, loading the Hunter a bit less so, mostly due to limitations of the AI. Both these strategies still require some effort and knowledge of the game, neither is really breaking CAS rules nor the rule to play ones role as I see it. I've quite often also seen AA-titans carried in the Hunters. These have been used quite effectively against air threats that would otherwise take longer to handle, thus supporting the pilots in their transport duties as well. I will happily step in when someone is say camping an infantry factory from 1,5 km away. That I see as an clear abuse of game mechanic. Just like using the ammo truck to have an infinite ammo mortar. These strategies are available to everyone, if they so choose to play. I won't but if I wanted to I could, this is all in line with the openness that is EU1. EU1 is to me an open sandbox where you are allowed to quite freely do what you like with a low bar of entry, I would not want EU1 to move to a more milsimmy experience, we got AWE and MSO for that. If you feel that it is impeding your fun in the main AO, you can always move to a side or primary mission, perhaps select a support role that does not require you to run around the AO?
  11. @souldeath1 Racism while being a serious offence in and of itself you were also banned for trolling, team killing and ignoring your player role. You have broken several of the server rules quite blatantly and you have been given a permanent ban. I do not find any true remorse nor an apology for your transgression. The first step toward being unbanned is to stop using the N-word and most definitely stop insisting using it in the first place was a "joke". There is nothing fun about using a racist, derogatory term for black people. BAN REMAINS
  12. I get so reminiscent of @LH5 and his blue helmet. I was amazed at how much fire that thing drew from all parties!
  13. Hello @EyePopper I have reviewed the previous ban and appeals and there were a few. You've been given more than one second chance it seems. Still I believe people can and do change over time, so I am going to unban you, but at the same time I want to make absolutely sure that you do play by the rules or the ban will be reinstated just as quick as it was lifted. Finally read the rules, reread them and enjoy the server within those rules: BAN APPEAL SUCCESSFULL
  14. I'll just run around the map shouting "Nakkikattila"!

    Chubbs

Hello @ChubboSlav I have reviewed you most recent ban and it seems to be inline with the previous ban, you have conducted yourself in a manner that has been seen as a violation of rule 1.1.1: I have personally unbanned you once, against recommendations against doing so. I've given you a second chance but here we are repeating the process that has been going on for too long. BAN APPEAL UNSUCCSESSFULL.
  16. Welcome to the forums and the modded content as well!
  17. Hello @ShepherdLaw You were banned for 3 days on the 26th of November. Ignorance of the rules isn't really a defence here. They are available at the forums and they are also available in game. You are even shown a popup when joining the server informing you about this. Also stated above things are dealt with on a case by case basis by the administrator(s) present at the time. That also means the administrator in question chooses weather to address you via chat or TS. In adition to this your TS nick and in game nick were not the same so connecting the two nicknames isn't a given. I see you joined the server and jumped head first in the deep end. Had you spent some time getting to know the rules and people on TS maybe asking some questions you would have been informed how Close Air Patrol vehicles are not suited for Close Air Support. You might have learned that they also tend to end up wasted assets while trying to attack heavily armoured targets with weapons very ill suited for the task. Key word here is wasting high value assets. We do usually work on a warn > kick > ban principle, but since the same rule had been infringed upon and the issue was dealt with shortly before your infringement, it should be clear for everyone present at the time what the rules and consequence are. I would have been quite sympathetic with your case had you apologized for breaking the rules, but instead I read the appeal as how we should interpret out own rules and how our admins should do their job. I am very hard pressed to find any remorse in the appeal. ...and finally I cannot look past leaving Team Speak just to re-join shortly after as C..T and poking the banning admin with a drive by insult. This is pure disrespect toward a member of staff, complete disregard toward the rules of conduct and sprit of our community and a rotten thing to do. For this your ban appeal is not only unsuccessful but I will be prolonging your ban to 90 days. BAN APPEAL UNSUCCESSFULL
  18. Welcome to the community @80Bravo, see you on the servers!
  19. AW MVP 2020: @Xwatt Thank you for everything, I feel you set AhoyWorld on a new course and I feel we have benefitted a lot as a community. AW Most Friendly Admin/Moderator/Spartan 2020: @MidnightRunner picking just one person here is _very_ hard. AW Most Helpful Admin/Moderator/Spartan 2020: @Whigital ever vigilant for the new guys on EU1. Followed closely for Chicken_no6. AW Most Active Staff Member 2020: @Stanhope codes, plays, hangs around. AW Strictest Staff Member 2020: We are all strict when needed? AW Best Team Player 2020: Cannot specify anyone specific. We all have and see moments of genuinely marvellous team play during the missions. AW Most Helpful Member *Non Staff* 2020: @SiegeSix learnt a lot of the finer details of modded arma. Good banter as well. AW Most Friendly Member 2020: @JJ Cakes the Cake is not a lie. AW Tacti-cool member 2020: Anyone spending more than 8 minutes in the Arsenal! AW Underrated Member 2020: @TheScar a force of nature for sure. AW Most Incoherent Member 2020: @Toasted_Bread_Slice he often gets there, eventually. AW DAAASSS BOOOOT 2020: When ever we boot a script kiddie of EU1. There is only one word; Satisfaction. AW Worst Joke 2020: "Hi Back" by @LH5 despite many attempts to unseat the champion of bad jokes. AW Best Moment 2020 (can be in-game, on Team Speak or Forum): All the game nights. I've also enjoyed getting back to DCS with the guys. AW Best Forum Post (please put URL in): I've put one in, but in reality I would say the feed back threads are one of the most important tools that keep the game play moving in the right direction. A lot of thought and effort go into the threads from both the people giving the feed back and the people then implementing the result of given feed back. AW Dankest Meme Post In Discord 2020: impossible to pick, but sometimes I feel I need protection going in there. AW Best Driver 2020: Anyone who gets to point B, with the vehicle and passengers back. AW Worst Driver 2020: @Xwatt - all aboard the bandwagon AW Best Fail 2020: Oh so many, I'm kinda glad my memory isn't what it used to be. AW Best Ban of 2020: @MoonFire getting banned might be one of the more impactful tho. AW Team Speak Channel 2020: Setup room - the banter, the anticipation and the debrief. AW Best Screen Shot 2020: This is very good screenie, getting to the point where it could be passed off as a photo really. AW Best/Worst Call-out 2020: Coms are always a hot topic. Still do not be afraid to make a call out, a bad one is still slightly better than none at all. AW Candidate for the Hague 2020: @Sho_Iwaizumi records the evidence he then shows at his own trials (cannot argue here) AW Role Model 2020: There are many people out there with qualities and ways of handling things that I wish I had. I cannot list all of you here so I'm just leaving this one open.
  20. I use keyboard and mouse as well! I do how ever also use track IR and a set of rudder pedals. I consider the rudder pedals optional but I could not imagine living with out Track IR anymore. I also fly using the standard flight model. One of the most important things to learn is to reduce speed early enough to not gain altitude when slowing down or alternatively smashing into the ground too hard. This combined with the skill to transition into a stable hover is where it's at, like Midnight says small gentle movement to avoid over correcting and pilot induced oscillation is very important. I meant to help you yesterday but got distracted by the kid (again).
