  1. Date: 29.03.2020 17:30 UTC Expected mission length: 120+ min (might be over or under) Act 2 - Might of the Bear Part 5 The operation of Altian special forces was successful, striking at several strategic targets beyond enemy lines. The loss of those installations will hamper the Russian operations quite significantly. In fact, as days pass, there is virtually no movement of the frontline, the Russian offensive halted, and Altian troops utilizing this time to the best of their ability to prepare defense in depth. However, due to recent loss of equipment after having to destroy the supplies stolen by the insurgents, the Altian army is also in a worse shape than anticipated. In an attempt to compensate for the shortages some older equipment makes its way back into active service. Additionally, some of the equipment purchased shortly before the invasion, which was yet to undergo evaluation before a full delivery contract is signed, such as armored vehicles bought from South Africa, is sent in to the frontline units for "field tests". With the destruction of Russian installations and Altian loss of equipment it seems that there is only one party in this conflict prepared to push onwards - the insurgents and their Freedom allies. It is clear that Templar's forces are preparing to move, having received reinforcements amidst the chaos of Russian invasion. In addition to usual guerilla operations, the insurgent are more and more often found probing Altian outposts, scouting for ample place and time to strike. There is no doubt that at least some of guerilla forces on the island are commanded by the "Phantom", an almost legendary Freedom commander and unprecedented master of infiltration. Through diligence of Altian intelligence operatives an interesting piece of information is revealed. Altian special forces attacked five out of six targets assigned to them. However, Russian radio chatter mentioned and attack on another target, one that wasn't even designated for the operation. A Gatekeeper HQ and - more importantly - its server uplink was attacked. As revealed by our operatives, some of the sensitive data was downloaded by the attackers before the server connection was severed. With pieces of the puzzle falling into place several things are becoming clear: Phantom and his forces were operating on Russian territory at the same time as Altian special forces and they attempted to download classified data from Gatekeeper's network. It is unknown what they were after or whether they got it, but the situation itself is worrying. Additionally it presents a question of whether Phantom knew about Altian operation to use it as diversion, or whether it was pure coincidence. This could mean that there is a Freedom spy in Altian high command. The Assets Player faction: Altian armed forces Player slots: 33 - PLATCO - 4 man command element + BRDM-2UM command vehicle - 3 Infantry Squads - Alpha, Bravo, Charlie - 8-man each - Vortex - 2-man helicopter pilot team (pilot and co-pilot) - Deimos - 3-man vehicle crew - to operate Badger and Rooikat (note that as this is equipment for evaluation, it's availability is extremely limited - you will not get replacements) - Mi-8 helicopters -1xBadger -1xRooikat -Various wheeled support vehicles The mission It seems the Russians were so impressed with our spec-ops that they decided to try a similar thing. Under cover of the night and SEAD mission an airborne detachment infiltrated our territory. However, their intel wasn't entirely accurate and they didn't manage to hit their intended targets. Now the sun is rising and they're still in Syrta, as well as occupying a nearby radar installation, which they will presumably attempt to destroy. Insurgent forces are also present in the area. We have an opportunity to destroy the enemy airborne force before they can evacuate, but be wary of insurgents and Freedom. This will most likely be a three-way engagement. More information will be provided soon. 2. Tactical overview Intelligence identified six potential targets - 3 in eastern section and 3 in western. All of these targets were deemed vulnerable, but they do have varying degrees of security. The lowest security target is the listening post in the western area. Heliport was decribed as low-to-medium security. Radar site and field HQ are medium security, while artillery battery and SAM site are the most guarded. It is up to you to choose which targets you aim to hit. The high command decided they are all of compartable priority, though you may choose to consider the possible future implications of your choices, as well as your capabilities. Due to limited time and manpower hitting all targets is impossible. You start at the FOB in Neochori. As passing the frontline on foot or via ground vehicle is almost impossible, you will need to inflitrate along the coast. For those purposes you have access to boats and helicopters. Our operatives managed to make certain unwanted "adjustments" to enemy air radar, which means that low altitude helicopter flight should be safe, though nap-of-the-earth flight is a necessity. The boats can also be slingloaded to facilitate a faster execution of boat insertion. Should you choose to bring a ground vehicle, that wil also need to be slingloaded in. Bear in mind that due to the nature of operations behind enemy lines resupply can be a difficulty. You may also find yourself with limited medical equipment and lack of medical space to provide treatment to wounded. You might come across a safehouse set up by our intelligence operatives for their purposes, but that isn't a certainty. Any routes of insertion you choose should be run through Overlord in order to compare them with intelligence report - you don't want to attempt landing in area we know to be populated by enemy forces. You are recommended to maintain stealth for as long as possible. We have a radio interception team in place and should be able to lsiten in to most enemy communications. Relevant info will be relayed by Overlord or Crossroads. In case of detection, there's a high chance enemy will intially take you for a rebel cell and underestimate the threat. The primary threat to you, and the final clue that you should be leaving, would be mobilisation of QRF force. As far as we can tell there are separate east and west QRF forces,s o triggering alarm in the western section won't necessarily mean the end of operation in the eastern (and vice versa), though enemy will be more cautious. In terms of fire support, the AH-6 helicopoters are equipped for long-range support, you will also have artillery on call. Bear in mind however, that artillery fire on position in the back lines will most likely prompt the enemy to search for whoever was able to call it in. This is of course a night operation, so use the darkness to your advantage. You should ask any questions you have and plan well. This won't be a trip in the park.
  3. Date: 22.03.2020 17:30 UTC Expected mission length: 120+ min (might be over or under) Act 2 - Might of the Bear Part 4 With the focus of Altian military and its NATO allies shifting to the south, towards the Russian invasion forces, insurgents increased their activity across the entire island. They utilized the fact that Altian troops were unprepared for their attack in the sections of the island further from the insurgent-controlled territory and staged a surprise attack against multiple outposts and equipment stores, capturing large amounts of weapons and ammunitions and several vehicles. Apparently they have also utilized the Russian attack for the purposes of their propaganda to boost their recruitment amongst the confused population. Altian troops conducted an operation aimed at recovering stolen equipment and eliminating insurgent threat in the area of Agios Dionysos. The insurgents were driven back, Altian forces eliminated several weapon caches and an IED factory. They have also managed to recover stolen vehicles, but unfortunately vast majority of equipment had to be destroyed to prevent it from falling into insurgent hands. However, loss of such large amounts of equipment will significantly set back Altian troops in their preparations for imminent Russian offensive. As high command has to divide forces between counteracting insurgent operations and the southern front and intelligence reports ongoing preparations on the Russian side, one becomes clear - there is not enough time and resources to prepare for another Russian push, while at the same time dealing with insurgents and Freedom. Especially with recent losses of equipment. A decision is made that the Russian preparations must be delayed and the Altian special forces are preparing to deploy on a daring operation behind enemy lines... The Assets Player faction: Altian special forces Player slots: 32 - PLATCO - 4 man command element - 3 Infantry Squads - Alpha, Bravo, Charlie - 8-man each - Vortex - 2-man helicopter pilot team (pilot and co-pilot) - UH-60 and newly aquired MH-6 and AH-6 helicopters - Boats - Light wheeled vehicles (of limited use due to the nature of operation) NOTE: As this is Altian special forces there are certain differences in equipment and squad layout The mission Intelligence has designated several vulnerable targets in the Russian-controlled section of the island. It won't be possible to hit them all, so you must choose which ones to hit. Infiltrate the enemy territory, strike at your chosen targets and exfiltrate before the situation becomes too hot. Further details and map with location fo the targets will be added soon. 4. I was notified that people wanted to be given some more information in advance. Due to time constraints I probably won't be able to provide a map together with mission announcement, but I will try to add it later, like in this case. It should give you some general idea and the topography of the AO, but as with real intel, I canot guarantee it's 100% accurate. Tactical information The insurgent forces have attacked several of our outposts, including an outpost and arsenal north of Lakka. After the attack on Lakka the insurgents retreated to the west. There are most likely camps and weapon caches somewhere in the area of Agios Dionysos and/or Alikampos, finding them and the stolen equipment is up to you. We have received several reports of insurgent activity around Agios Dionysos, but our outpost in the town reported no contact. You are based in FOB located in Neochori, the Russian frontline is located further to the south. Unless you opt for a really far south flank of AO it shouldn't be a concern, though you should be aware of possible threat from that direction. Further information from attacked outpost might help narrow down the search area, that information will be provided by Overlord as it becomes available. Due to the fact we're not equipped with gear for night fighting it is important that the operation ends before sunset. You should have about two hours of daylight and further 30-45 minutes before it becomes fully dark.
  5. Note to any potential PLATCO's: If you come earlier (server is unlocked about 30 mins before mission start), you can ask me to give you some information that will let you pre-plan certain things before the actual briefing. Up to you. I should be able to give you some preliminary info for most of the missions.
  6. Date: 15.03.2020 17:30 UTC Expected mission length: 120+ min (might be over or under) Act 2 - Might of the Bear Part 3 As the first day of war comes to an end and the Russian push grinds to a halt, the full picture of the situation becomes clear. Russian troops landed on all three islands of the archipelago in a meticulously prepared invasion. The island of Stratis is lost and firmly within Russian control. They had no chance against the Russian force and the full fate of the garrison is still unclear, though most likely many were captured as POWs. The island of Malden is holding, though the situation is difficult. The Russian force has captured approximately half of the island area and NATO troops on Malden are at a risk of running out of supplies. On Altis the Russian advance was finally stopped after their failed assault on Dorida. As of now, there are two distinct Russian forces present on the island. The Altian command is referring to them as South-Western Force and South-Eastern Force, based on the island region they landed in. The South-Eastern Force is also called the Main Force, as this is where most of the heavy equipment and command personnel is. Russian troops also attempted landing in the west, in Kavala, as well as northern section of the island, but both of these attempts failed. As the frontlines stabilize and Russians hold their advance, they keep bringing reinforcements in preparation for the next stage of their offensive plan. Altian and American intelligence is doing what they can to uncover what the plan actually is, but so far interrogation of captured enemy personnel yielded little results. Meanwhile, small cells of recon operatives operate behind enemy lines, gathering whatever information they can, but the enemy is now aware of their presence and aiming to hunt them down. As the second day begins the Altians are braced for another push, but the attack doesn't come. The Russian forces seem to be content with their position for now and hostilities on Altis are mostly reduced to minor skirmishes, artillery exchanges and airstrikes. However, it likely won't remain that way for long. Meanwhile, the insurgents remain a thorn in our side. The chaos of war and the need for Altian troops to focus on the new enemy enabled them to conduct their operations with near-impunity. While the Russian are also a target of their strikes, it seems that they don't suffer as much as NATO troops. Negotiations regarding Epsilon intervention continue, though with the presence of Russian troops on the island and all limitations imposed upon Epsilon it is at this time unclear whether they will be allowed to act. The Altian military is still hopeful to at least try to negotiate a lend-lease of equipment to help in their fight against Freedom. The US has promised additional help in the form of a free credit which can be used to buy equipment, weapons and munitions from US manufacturers and it is to be finalized soon. The civilians are scared, the insurgency and Freedom is once again increasing their activity and the Russians are gathering forces. The fate of the archipelago is uncertain, all depends on the brave men risking their lives to defend it. Invasion time: T+2 days The Assets Player faction: Altian military Player slots: 32 - PLATCO - 4 man command element + BRDM-2UM command vehicle - 3 Infantry Squads - Alpha, Bravo, Charlie - 8-man each (4-man fireteam, 3-man maneuver team + engineer - effectively two 4-man fireteams) - Vortex - 2-man helicopter pilot team (pilot and co-pilot) - UH-60 and Mi-8 transport helicopters -1x Mi-24V -1x BTR-70 - Various wheeled transport vehicles The mission The insurgents have conducted a surprise attack on one of your arsenals and stolen large amounts of equipment, weapons and ammo. The task is to search for stolen assets and deal with any insurgent activity in the area. Stolen assets are to be recovered or destroyed. 7. Date: 8.03.2020 17:30 UTC Expected mission length: 120+ min (might be over or under) Act 2 - Might of the Bear Part 2 For a moment it seemed that the Russian push is slowly grinding to a halt. After several hours of constant fighting troops on both sides are tired, and Russians are seemingly satisfied with results of their initial assault, their momentum almost spent. Fighting on the south-eastern front slowly dies down and fight for Kavala draws to an end with Altian troops converging on the castle. However, US recon operatives conducting reconnaissance beyond enemy lines discover that Russians are preparing for another attack. They have brought up fresh troops and heavy equipment from third landing wave and aim to assault the town of Dorida. Altian command suspects their intention is to break the frontline while it is still lightly fortified and encircle Pyrgos. Warned by the recon element, Altian soldiers mobilize to prepare the defense of Dorida and repel the Russians. With elements of 107th Tank Brigade supporting the enemy push, holding the town will require more than just bullets. The Assets Player faction: Altian military Player slots: 32 - PLATCO - 4 man command element + BRDM-2UM command vehicle - 3 Infantry Squads - Alpha, Bravo, Charlie - 8-man each (4-man fireteam, 3-man maneuver team + engineer - effectively two 4-man fireteams) - Vortex - 2-man helicopter pilot team (pilot and co-pilot) - Deimos - 2-man IFV crew (gunner and driver). Gunner is acting as commander when infantry is dismounted, - Mi-8 transport helicopters -1xMi-24V -1x BMP-2D -1x BMP-1P - Various wheeled transport vehicles The mission Prepare defense of Dorida and repel Russian attack. 8. Date: 1.03.2020 17:30 UTC Expected mission length: 120+ min (might be over or under) Ending of Act 1: Act 2 - Might of the Bear Part 1 As the sun rises on the first day of war, the fighting that started in the night continues, maybe even gets fiercer. The Russian invasion was well prepared, well coordinated and well executed, but it is clear they counted on the Altian communications and radars being disabled for longer than they were. Regardless, while NATO-Altian forces managed to restore communications and organize themselves in record speed, the Russians had no intention of stopping the offensive. They gained a foothold on the island and they decided to use the momentum they have gained to its maximum potential. While not all Russian landings succeeded, the forces that landed in the south of the island made terrifying progress in just 3 hours. The frontline is still not stable and situation changes by the minute. With several reports of insurgent and Freedom forces engaging the Russians and the northern invasion being repelled by Templar's forces, it seems that this is going to be a three-way war for the island. One of the less successful landings happened in Kavala. A Russian airborne force landed in the city and secured a foothold on the island. It was their intention to extend south and push towards the south-western invasion force, but they failed to break through. Now they are contained to the urban area, but as long as they hold this area they remain a threat. They are encircled and - hopefully - tired, having fought through the night. They have received air-dropped supplies under cover of the night and the Altian command suspects they intend to hold the foothold until they receive more reinforcements through air or sea. It is imperative that the city is retaken before the enemy has a chance to dig in and before the imminent arrival of their reinforcements. The Assets Player faction: Altian military Player slots: 30 - PLATCO - 4 man command element + BRDM-2UM command vehicle - 3 Infantry Squads - Alpha, Bravo, Charlie - 8-man each (4-man fireteam, 3-man maneuver team + engineer - effectively two 4-man fireteams) - Vortex - 2-man helicopter pilot team (pilot and co-pilot) - will have access to both Altian helicopters and helicopters provided by the Americans - Various wheeled transport vehicles The mission Russian airborne forces have secured a foothold in the city of Kavala. The city must be retaken before the enemy receives reinforcements. Retake the city, assist friendly forces if possible and do not allow the enemy to break encirclement. Avoid civilian casualties. 10. This marks the ends of Act 1 of War for Altis "Prelude to a nightmare" "Today, at 00:01 local time, The Archipelago of Altis came under a rapid and violent attack by the armed forces of the Russian Federation. We will not stand for this unprovoked act of violence. We will not yield and we will defend our soil, our citizens and our resources with any means available to us. Our enemies, regardless of coming from abroad or within, will learn that people of Altis are people who are no strangers to hardships, for we have tamed this land, no strangers to fear, for we have courage unlike any you have seen... And no strangers to violence, for we have endured more than you ever will. " - Altian Prime Minister transmitting from the government bunker The enemy used underhanded tactics in order to get an advantage in the opening phase of the invasion. They have landed on our soil before the official start of the hostilities in order to paralyze our defense network and communications. A group of Altian soldiers supported by the Americans ventured out to destroy enemy equipment used to facilitate the cyber-attack. They fought in darkness, going up against an unknown threat and with no communications. Their courage is admirable and their heroic efforts will not be forgotten. For their actions they will all be awarded medal of honor. They have accomplished their mission and the enemy equipment was finally shut down about 15 minutes after midnight. While the invasion has already begun, the enemy did not have free reign they had hoped for and we managed to organize defenses sooner thatn they anticipated. The situation is still under assesment, but it seems that the Russian forces, supported in several instances by Gatekeeper, made landfall in several areas of the Islands. Stratis has fallen two hours after midnight, the island's garrison was hit hard during the intial suprise attack. Situation on Malden seems stable, though there is a strong Russian presence on the island. It seems Malden is a secondary objective for them. On Altis situation is not looking good, but we managed to contain the initial assault - for now at least. We must do what we can before they can bring in supplies and heavy equipment. Apparently Freedom and Insurgent forces were also a thorn in their side, as we have learned that Templar's forces repelled the landing of Russian forces in the northern part of the island. There is still fighting in the east, but the msot concering are the Russian forces that landed int he southern side of the island, both eastern and western sections. Additionally Kavala was assaulted by an airborne force during the first 15 minutes of the war and they managed to secure a foothold in the city. We must act fast to push them away, as they are separated from the main (southern) force. Our NATO allies are of course supporting us. While this means that USA and Russia are now in a state of war, it seems that fighting is limited to the Altis archipelago, for now at least. Some call it a proxy war, others are just glad the nukes continue to collect dust in the silos. We are at war now and the altian doomsday clock has hit midnight. But this is Altis and we have always prevailed. We will always prevail. Act 2 Coming soon!

  12. Date: 23.02.2020 17:30 UTC Expected mission length: 120+ min (might be over or under) Act 1 - Prelude to a Nightmare Finale It is now clear that the signal we have uncovered was a ploy by The Templar, who wished to test the skill and determination of his enemy. While the original objectives of the mission couldn't be completed, Altian armed forces managed to rescue several officers captured by Freedom or insurgents during last weeks. The engagement has proven that The Templar and his forces will not be an easy enemy to beat. Regardless, while their threat remains serious, there is an even greater danger looming over the islands now. With the Russian ultimatum and absolute refusal of US forces to comply with it, war is now almost certain. NATO forces cooperate with Altian government and high command in an effort to put together a plan of defense for the archipelago, but time is short and resources are scarce. The presence of insurgents on the island is not making things easier either. As days pass and Russian and Gatekeeper forces circle the archipelago in a standoff with American task force, diplomats on both sides still attempt to avoid the escalation of the crisis. Their efforts bring no fruit however. Diplomacy failed, and so it seems war is inevitable. As the time set by Russian ultimatum draws ever closer, fear can be felt across the archipelago. Fear amongst the populace, and amongst the soldiers who will soon stand against the might of the bear. As sun sets on the final day of peace, a sudden large scale cyber-attack cripples the Altian defense net. Radars, communications and CICs across the archipelago are affected. While it is originally suspected that Freedom and insurgent forces are involved, it quickly became apparent they would be unable to conduct an electronic warfare operation of this magnitude. It appears that Gatekeeper's shiny tech is involved, which can only mean one thing: Altis was infiltrated by enemy forces and the cyber-attack is a preparation for imminent invasion when the ultimatum ends. With merely an hour left before the time set by the Russians, a group of Altian soldiers ventures out in a desperate attempt to restore communications before it is too late. The prelude has ended - nightmare is now upon us. The Altian doomsday clock is showing midnight... The Assets Player faction: Altian military (with US support) Player slots: 31 - PLATCO - 4 man command element + BRDM-2UM command vehicle - 3 Infantry Squads - Alpha, Bravo, Charlie - 8-man each (4-man fireteam, 3-man maneuver team + engineer - effectively two 4-man fireteams) - Hammer - 3-man US vehicle crew operating Bradley IFV - 2xM2A3 - 1xM117 - Various wheeled transport vehicles The mission You must find and destroy the enemy equipment used to jam our communications and facilitate the cyber-attack. 13. Date: 16.02.2020 17:30 UTC Expected mission length: 120+ min (might be over or under) Act 1 - Prelude to a Nightmare Part 6 Pushing back Freedom forces required a lot more resources than was originally anticipated. Losses were high. Many brave soldiers laid down their lives and their sacrifice shall never be forgotten. Thanks to their efforts the enemy was finally pushed back. Additionally Altian troops managed to secure data from a Freedom outpost. While msot of it is still encrypted, it paints a new picture of the current situation. And it is not looking well. Originally the high command feared that this sudden push meant Templar's forces have arrived on the island - they weren't far from the truth. The push was meant to distract us, while Freedom reinforcements were arriving on the island. Data we have decrypted indicates that several well known Freedom commanders are now present on the archipelago. The Watcher - we already knew about his presence. He is a cautious and somewhat paranoid commander, putting a lot of emphasis on recon and sentry patrols to give him an early warning. Torch - brilliant, but psychically unstable. Suspected of having some form of schizophrenia or HFA, possibly both. Adores usage of mines and explosives and brings it to the extreme. Phantom - his identity still unknown, the man is a ghost. Master of infiltration and ambush tactics, capable of exploiting any weakness in security. He is almost a myth, both among Freedom and their enemies. Seagull - technically not a member of Freedom, but operates with them very closely. Has good connections to black markets and commands his own band of mercenaries. He will most likely focus on training insurgents to be better fighters. The Templar - the man whose arrival the high command feared. Excellent tactician and brilliant strategist, he inspires his troops and breaks his enemies' morale. He commands a detachment that is both larger and better equipped than most Freedom commanders can hope for, as Templar has connections among highest leadership of Freedom. Their arrival is bad news as Altian offensive is still not ready, due to all the troubles the insurgent operations are causing behind our lines. If The Templar decides to make his move now, the Altian military may find itself on the defensive. With general disarray among high command it seems that it is only several notable officers, such as recently rescued colonel Silas Xenotis that keep order and prevent the onset of complete chaos among the troops. And to add to these bad news the international situation keeps getting worse. The tension between Russia and USA reached a level not seen since the Cuban Crisis. Russia accuses USA of supporting the Altis insurgency and allowing the passage of Freedom forces on purpose in order to warrant American military presence in the Altis archipelago. They see it as a scheme to take control of Altis and its natural resources, primarily the recently discovered uranium deposits, which where a point of discussion for quite some time now. Tired of fruitless accusations and diplomacy, Russia made a demand - NATO has 7 days to withdraw all their forces from the archipelago and Altian government must accept a garrison of Russian peacekeeping forces. Failure to do so will be viewed as direct threat to Russian national security and will be met with adequate response. Russian military is now fully mobilized and Gatekeeper forces in their service are ready to move out from Syria at any moment. This development also put a dent in plans of Epsilon - international task force dedicated to combat global threat posed by Freedom. While Epsilon was preparing for intervention on Altis ever since Freedom presence was confirmed, the tense political situation forced them to put the intervention on hold. Due to the nature of Epsilon, they are not allowed to take action against any national military forces, unless in direct collaboration with Freedom. Additionally, Russia is still one of the members of Epsilon's council. While Epsilon has already sent some non-combat support personnel to Altis to help with intelligence gathering and decryption, the situation must be further reevaluated before decision regarding full intervention will be reached. Many thought the civil war to be a nightmare, but now it becomes clear this was merely a prelude. The true nightmare may be yet to come... The Altian doomsday clock has advanced and it is now one minute to midnight... The Assets Player faction: Altian military (with British support) Player slots: 34 - PLATCO - 4 man command element + BRDM-2UM command vehicle - 3 Infantry Squads - Alpha, Bravo, Charlie - 8-man each (4-man fireteam, 3-man maneuver team + engineer - effectively two 4-man fireteams) - Vortex - Pilot and Co-pilot - in this mission the role of Vortex will be fulfilled by British pilots. Due to equipment and aircraft losses sustained as a result of enemy AA net and recent operations of Altian air force their help is welcomed by the Altian military. - Hermes - 1-man pilot element from Altian Air Force, equipped with L159 - Ares - 3-man vehicle crew, equipped with T-72 - Wildcat and Merlin helicopters -1x L159 (multiple loadouts available) - 1x T-72 - Various wheeled transport vehicles The mission We have detected several encoded radio transmissions coming from a source close to the frontline. The transmissions seem to be marked with Templar's own signature and while it seems somewhat suspicious for him to set up his HQ so close to the fight, this fact cannot be ignored. Your task is to break through the frontlines and investigate the source of the transmissions. There is a possibility they might lead us to Templar's HQ. It could enable us to gain valuable intel and perhaps deal with the man himself... Be careful, for all we know we could be walking right into his trap. 14. Date: 9.02.2020 17:30 UTC Expected mission length: 120+ min (might be over or under) Act 1 - Prelude to a Nightmare Part 5 The Altian offensive is still on hold, while the preparations are underway. Although insurgents are constantly operating behind out lines, attacking villages and raiding supply lines, the overall situation on the island somehow feels calmer. The fighting is sparser, and the Altian army is making the most of this calm, putting extra effort into preparations, in order to resume the offensive as fast as possible. The high command is aware that with Templar and his forces headed for Altis, time works in favor of the enemy. Insurgent and Freedom commanders are most definitely aware of this fact and as such they are planning to disrupt our preparations. As part of guerilla operations aimed to slow down our efforts, the insurgents set up an anti-aircraft net on approach to one of our airfields. Unfortunately it caused significant difficulties and delays, as well as equipment and aircraft losses. The insurgents also shot down a helicopter carrying colonel Silas Xenotis and took him captive, no doubt willing to extract information from him. Altian forces conducted a difficult rescue operation and ultimately managed to locate and safely recover the colonel, as well as neutralize the bulk of enemy AA net threatening our aircraft. Unfortunately during the operation substantial amount of Altian equipment fell into insurgent hands. The tensions between Russia and USA are still high and there is no sign of them improving. The situation on Altis is constantly brought up by Russian media, who aim to throw blame for anything they can onto Altians or Americans. With the Black Sea Fleet mobilizing all of its major vessels and the constant exchange of ever more ridiculous accusations between Russia and USA, it seems the situation abroad is bound to become as bad as situation on Altis. One can only pray it doesn't become any worse. The Altian clock has advanced and now shows 2 minutes to midnight... The Assets Player faction: Altian military (with British support) Player slots: 32 - PLATCO - 4 man command element - 3 Infantry Squads - Alpha, Bravo, Charlie - 8-man each (4-man fireteam, 3-man maneuver team + engineer - effectively two 4-man fireteams) - Vortex - Pilot and Co-pilot - in this mission the role of Vortex will be fulfilled by British pilots. Due to equipment and aircraft losses sustained as a result of enemy AA net and recent operations of Altian air force their help is welcomed by the Altian military. - Shadow - 2-man sniper recon team (sniper and spotter) - Wildcat and Merlin helicopters - 1x M117 - Various wheeled transport vehicles The mission Yesterday morning Freedom and insurgent forces launched a suprise attack from the insurgent controlled territory. They have gained some ground and captured an industrial complex, which they are now holding. The attack came as a complete shock as untill now the enemy was focusing on preparing defenses and partisan operations, so for them to go on the offensive was a complete shock. We are not yet sure what this change of stance means - worst case scenario is that Templar's forces have already arrived, in which case the situation is looking more grim than we anticipated. The objective of the mission is to retake the complex and search the area for enemy isntallations. We have also received vague reports about Freedom outpost located nearby, clearing it would offer an opportunity to secure intel as well as reduce effectiveness of enemy operations in the region. 15. @JaSmAn I post the mission in "events" beforehand. This is the last one: I am yet to post this Sunday's mission. The info on Vietnam is also posted in events by MidnightRunner.
  16. AWE is still supposed to come out after IA4 is out of development, so check IA4 info on how that is going. In the meantime we have modded zeus op campaign led by me on sunday, with modset similar to AWE in terms of core mods. There is also a modded Vietnam op on Friday with ace recently added to it.
  17. Date: 2.02.2020 17:30 UTC Expected mission length: 120+ min (might be over or under) Act 1 - Prelude to a Nightmare Part 4 Very shortly after the Altian offensive started, the high command realized pushing the enemy back will not be as easy as was originally predicted. Launching an attack before all preparations were complete was aimed to take advantage of enemy weakness, but also resulted in disorganization among Altian troops and casualties much higher than anticipated. Still, it had moderate success, which the Altian government managed to brand as victory. Despite having Freedom's support and malfunction of USS Patrick Gallagher's VLS system, the insurgents were forced to retreat from the territories targeted by the initial Altian push. In face of unrelenting assault, The Watcher, commanding enemy Freedom forces, ordered a retreat. Altian army seized several strategic objectives, such as a field airfield, but the insurgents managed to pull back most of their supplies and equipment before the area was taken. Now the Altian offensive is at a halt. The losses were high and success moderate and as such high command made a decision to hold the advance to await reinforcements, resupply and to have time for proper planning. The original goal of pushing against the insurgents before arrival of The Templar and Freedom's troops that will no doubt accompany him is no longer deemed possible to accomplish in time. Additionally, territory that was taken is not fully secure, as insurgents are still conducting guerilla operations across the island. The Altian government must also deal with the aftermath of an incident that happened during the offensive. An Altian aircraft mistakenly fired upon a civilian target, which resulted in loss of life of multiple civilians. The public outrage on the island and abroad is largely fueled by Russian media and diplomats, who immediately jumped on the story, using it best they can in order to demonize both the Altian government and US troops stationed on the island. The insurgents are also attempting to use the incident as part of their propaganda, but the populace cannot be swayed that easily. Coincidentally - or maybe not - a political incident in South-East Asia sparked tensions between Russia and USA and neither country is willing to back down. With the offense on hold the Altian high command once more turns its attention to guerilla warfare that wreaks havoc in areas that should've had no insurgent presence. The Altian clock has advanced and now shows 2 minutes and 30 seconds to midnight... The Assets Player faction: Altian military Player slots: 32 - PLATCO - 4 man command element + BRDM-2UM command vehicle - 3 Infantry Squads - Alpha, Bravo, Charlie - 8-man each (4-man fireteam, 3-man maneuver team + engineer - effectively two 4-man fireteams) - Vortex - Pilot and Co-pilot - Shadow - 2-man sniper recon team (sniper and spotter) - Mi-8 transport helicopters (including a CAS-capable variant) - Various wheeled transport vehicles The mission The insurgents have been conducting guerilla operations across the island to disrupt our operations and supply lines. Recently they started targeting aircraft passing through this region in order to disrupt ours as well as US supplies arriving at a nearby airfield. Among the targeted aircraft was also a helicopter carrying colonel Silas Xenotis. We have lost contact with the aircraft and the crew and the colonel are M.I.A. Assuming they survived the crash, they are probably held prisoner by the insurgents. Your task is to search the area for the missing aircraft, find out the fate of the crew and the colonel and rescue them if possible. Additionally you are expected to neutralize any enemy AA asset you encounter. 18. If you feel that your ban was unjust and you are absolutely certain you did nothing that would go against the rules, the proper channel to voice your side of the story and attempt to get unbanned is to make a ban appeal, which you can find here: https://forums.ahoyworld.net/forms/4-ban-appeal/ I, for one, can tell you that I don't see any admin or moderator jumping to conclusions, let alone based on your name, accent or ethnicity.
  19. Unlikely, due to the nature of this DLC being essentially a paid mod (creator DLC). The problem with that is unlike the APEX, marksmen and all other bohemia DLCs, which allow you to utilise the assets in the server even when non-owners of the DLCs are present, the Global Mobilisation makes it so that only people who own the DLC can play on the server. There is a compatibility data for non-owners, which allows them to connect to servers running global mobilisation, but it is a roughly 20GB workshop item and the idea of EU1 is to be open to large number of players without requiring them to download mods.
  20. Date: 26.01.2020 17:00 UTC Expected mission length: 120+ min (might be over or under) Act 1 - Prelude to a Nightmare Part 3 The situation is stable for now, but it won't remain that for long. As worrying news reach Altian high command, they realize they must make their move. The insurgent leaders that were captured during recent operation were persuaded to reveal vital information about the strength and plans of the insurgency. None of them were high enough rank to know all the details, but the information will prove valuable in the upcoming operation. Unfortunately the Freedom's liaison couldn't be captured which means our information regarding Freedom's own operations is still very limited. Regardless, we have received some worrying news as well. Freedom is bringing in more and more people and equipment into the archipelago, particularly Altis. It appears they are committed to civil war on Altis, even bringing in some commanders, whose names are well known to the world. Some of them are supposed to already be on the island, with others scheduled to arrive in the near future. One name in particular, the man known as The Templar, is especially worrying. He is one of the best - if not the best - Freedom's commanders and the fact he's coming to Altis can only mean one thing: things are bound to get a lot worse. The Altian command made the decision that the time to strike is now, and push back the insurgents from the territories they're terrorizing. Intel provided by captured insurgent leaders indicates that they are preparing for our offensive and that they are aided by Freedom's troops in this effort. While we do not have full information on Freedom's own operations, it appears that a field commander known as The Watcher - a well known figure - is in command of Freedom's forces in the area, where the offensive will take place. Additionally, during the operation to capture insurgent leaders our forces found and freed an altian officer captured by the insurgents. He revealed that he was brutally interrogated by both insurgents and Freedom's troops and for whatever reason they seemed to be particularly interested in Altian anti-air installations. It is also clear that insurgents have been busy gathering intel on our moves, bases and supply lines. Once more Russia offered help to Altian government, but this time also expressed deep concern about the presence of US troops. In the international waters surrounding Altis destroyer USS Patrick Gallagher narrowly avoided a collision with Russian missile frigate after both ships refused to give way. The Altian clock still shows 3 minutes to midnight... The Assets Player faction: Altian military Player slots: 30 - PLATCO - 4 man command element - 3 Infantry Squads - Alpha, Bravo, Charlie - 8-man each (4-man fireteam, 3-man maneuver team + engineer - effectively two 4-man fireteams) - Vortex - Pilot and Co-pilot - 1x Mi-24V attack helicopter - Mi-8 transport helicopters - 1x M113 APC - Various wheeled transport vehicles The mission The goal is to push back the insurgents before they have too much time to dig in and bring in support. The primary objective is to capture the nearby field airfield, but there are bound to be other enemy installations or camps in the area. Expect heavy resistance. Insurgents will be supported by Freedom forces and our intel indicates they are under command of a field commander (colonel equivalent in Freedom's structure) known as The Watcher*. During the operation American destroyer USS Patrick Gallagher will be available to provide long range fire support if needed. The modset: The modset didn't change, but I'm putting it here for anyone who might need it: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1944287184 Hope to see you there! *Note: This is the first mission where you face a custom enemy commander. Each commander is different and his command style will influence composition and actions of enemy forces. With that said it's not necessarily harder. Some of them are easier to defeat than others, some excel in certain scenarios. More will be explained before the mission.
  21. 1. I believe we adjusted it but we will take a look if it still needs adjustments. 2. They should've been. Vehicles with at least two (logical) passenger seats should've been set as medical. I only learned about this problem after the mission, otherwise I would have fixed it (If I could) 3. You can still die instantly if hit badly enough. It is also possible to go unconscious and die within a couple seconds from bloodloss. Cardiac arrest doesnt mean you're not saveable, especially by a skilled medic. I believe people are still getting used to new medical so possibly things aren't as fast as they could be. Still the medics are doing a wonderful job getting people back from what I have seen. Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed the mission. The campaign will continue next week. And as a side note, I am actually the only zeus there.
  22. Date: 19.01.2020 17:00 UTC Expected mission length: 120+ min (might be over or under) Act 1 - Prelude to a Nightmare Part 2 There are still many who dare not utter the words "civil war", but few words can be better used to describe situation on Altis. The insurgents are clearly more bold, more aggressive than they've been until now. It is clear they feel confident. It is clear they have support from outside. The conflict is very likely to escalate and Altian military must be prepared for anything that the insurgency may have in store. So far, the situation is not as grim as it could be. The insurgents are strong in numbers and are getting equipment and support from outside, but Altian military put a dent in their confidence. The insurgent attempts at destroying the island's infrastructure were largely ineffective, in no small part due to swift response from Altian military. After several days of intense fighting the insurgents were ultimately forced to fall back and the Altian government called this a victory. A victory it might be, but the civil war is far from over. The enemy we feared was finally revealed. During recent fighting Freedom's operatives were spotted among the insurgent troops and there's absolutely no doubt now - Freedom is on Altis and they are helping the insurgents in their fight. Freedom's troops are bound to be better trained and equipped than an average insurgents and it is only a matter of time before their material support and training operations improve the fighting capabilities of the insurgency even further. The enemy may have retreated for now, but they will not stop fighting. It is time to strike, before the enemy has recovered from their losses. A blow must be dealt to the insurgency that will show them what they are standing against. A blow that will show them that we will not wait idle while they're gathering forces. If it is war they wanted, they shall have it. While a major operation against the insurgents is under preparation, the Altian forces seek any opportunity to disrupt and slow down insurgent activities. Many pay the ultimate price, falling victim to traps and stray bullets. Meanwhile, Gatekeeper contract with Russia was officially signed and a large contingent of Gatekeeper troops transferred to Russian bases in Syria, preparing for a demonstration of new equipment and naval invasion capabilities. Several days ago a Russian missile destroyer violated Altian territorial waters. The vessel turned back eventually, claiming a navigation error, but no apologies were offered. In a sudden surge of optimism the altian clock goes back one minute. It is now three minutes to midnight... The Assets Player faction: Altian military + US special forces support Player slots: 36 - PLATCO - 4 man command element - 3 Infantry Squads - Alpha, Bravo, Charlie - 8-man each (4-man fireteam, 3-man maneuver team + engineer - effectively two 4-man fireteams) - Razor - a 6 man US special forces team. - Vortex - a US air unit equipped with AH-6 and MH-6 helicopters - Various wheeled transport vehicles The mission We have received intel that several insurgent leaders are scheduled to meet in the area. It present an opportunity to deal a blow to enemy chain of command which we cannot pass. It is also possible that Freedom's representative will be meeting with them. Both the insurgent leaders and the Freedom representative are High Value Targets which we must eliminate or capture - the intel they could provide could be significant. 23. Dont worry, it probably won't be a night mission. At some point though, definitely.
  24. People wanted this to continue and so this is the beginning of the War for Altis modded campaign. Date: 12.01.2020 17:00 UTC Expected mission length: 120+ min (might be over or under) Act 1 - Prelude to a Nightmare There are still many who dare not utter the words "civil war", but few words can be better used to describe situation on Altis. The insurgents are clearly more bold, more aggressive than they've been until now. It is clear they feel confident. It is clear they have support from outside. The conflict is very likely to escalate and Altian military must be prepared for anything that the insurgency may have in store. The true battle is fought for the hearts and minds of the civilians. The insurgents hoped they could harass the population without impunity. That those who cannot be convinced can be forced to submit. That those who will not submit can be eliminated. However, they have met with strong resistance from the Altian army, determined to protect the people. The Altian army responded to increased insurgent activity with their own operation, and despite difficult terrain, they were successful in driving the insurgents back and saving many civilian lives. Many insurgents were killed and a lot of their equipment was destroyed and it was thought that this victory would greatly reduce insurgent activity in the region. Now it becomes clear that the insurgents and the supplies they receive have been underestimated. Altian army secured intel strongly indicating that Freedom is in fact assisting insurgents with weapon shipments, troop training and intel gathering. Now it is up to the higher-ups to convince Epsilon and UN of the gravity of the situation. After preliminary talks it is apparent that while they do not reject this evidence, they are reluctant to act on it. Most likely the reason of their concerns is the situation with Russia and fear of escalating it further. Meanwhile, the supplies from USA and UK start arriving on the island and the first batch of troops is scheduled to arrive soon after. Russia luckily took no strong action so far, though their offer of "help" is still on the table and they "insist" that they are allowed to help the Altian people. The Russian forces in the region are on high alert, but they do stay clear of Altian territorial waters, for now at least, coming just close enough that their presence cannot be ignored and just far enough that they abide all international laws. While the insurgents and their sponsors are still the real threat, Russia's gaze can be felt across the island, like silence before the storm that threatens to descend upon Altis. The Altian clock still shows two minutes to midnight... The Assets Player faction: Altian military Player slots: 30 - PLATCO - 4 man command element - 3 Infantry Squads - Alpha, Bravo, Charlie - 8-man each (4-man fireteam, 3-man maneuver team + engineer - effectively two 4-man fireteams) - Vortex - air unit with Mi-8 helicopter, both armed and unarmed variants. - 2x M113 APCs - Various wheeled transport vehicles The mission The Insurgents are targeting the infrastructure in the region. We must prevent the destruction of infrastructure and loss of lives of any civilians found in the crossfire. The area should be searched for any camps the insurgents may operate from. We should also be on the lookout for any opportunities of gaining intel, be it in the field or through interrogation of higher-ranking insurgents.
