  1. Hey all, Unfortunately I am afraid that due to certain health problems that I am having today I will be unable to conduct this mission for you. I know this sucks and I am sorry, but my body failed me. The mission will be postponed to a later time, which may or may not be next week depending on how soon the problem goes away.
  2. Date: 19.07.2020 16:30 UTC Expected mission length: 120+ min (might be over or under) Act 3 - Weather the storm Part 8 Even though Altians broke the encirclement of Pyrgos, things are far from calm in the vicinity of the city. Not three hours after the city was deemed secure, the Russians sent in elements of VMF infantry and the fighting continued throughout the rest of the day and night. Now both sides seem to have reached a point where they need to make a gamble to attempt to secure their hold on the Pyrgos area. The Altian command hopes that not only can they secure the area, but also strike at the exposed Russian positions before they establish proper defenses. However, it is unknown how much the Russians are willing to gamble on the assault on the city, and o whose terms the two forces would clash. The Altians made their choice. Now all the depends on the Russian option: will they choose to regroup and reconsolidate a new frontline to account for losses suffered in the bombardment or will they choose to push towards Pyrgos with all their might, refusing to give up on the city, but potentially exposing their positions elsewhere? Not one full day has passed since the encirclement of Pyrgos was broken, and now the brave Altian soldiers that accomplished it are once more preparing to sally out and strike at Russian positions. 3. Date: 12.07.2020 16:30 UTC Expected mission length: 120+ min (might be over or under) Act 3 - Weather the storm Part 7 As the medicane finally passes, the Altians realise that somehow the Russian forces suffered casualties nobody expected. The Altian HQ is unaware of the details of successful sabotage by NATO remnants on Malden, who managed to interrupt the testing of experimental cruise missile system and use the enemy's own weapon against them. They are, however, certainly aware of its results on Altis and the opportunities it opens. The Russians are definitely not out of the picture, and their force remains formidable, as not all major installations were hit and the fire wasn't very precise. They will however need to react to this unexpected setback, they will need to move their forces, adjust their plans, rebuild their positions. With Russians having to give up some of the gained terrain to reconsolidate their forces, an opportunity arises to break the encirclement of Pyrgos and save the city - or at the very least the brave soldiers trapped within. 4. Date: 28.06.2020 16:30 UTC Expected mission length: 120+ min (might be over or under) Act 3 - Weather the storm Part 6 The Russian advance to the north was stopped, but they are still laying siege to Pyrgos and seemingly quite happy to do so for the time being. Part of the reason for their reluctance of pushing further right now is the medicane, which finally reached the archipelago. This adds difficulty to the wartime operations and both sides decided to sit tight for now and limit active engagements, choosing instead to make sure their operations aren't compromised by the elements. Russians are waiting for the medicane to pass, using this time to repair their tanks, damaged in the last assault and prepare for another armored push. While aware of this fact, there is virtually nothing that can be done by the Altian forces. Pyrgos garrison is valiantly fighting back, though it seems they too lost all hope. They are stalling, trying to delay the Russians and in the end it seems that delay is the only goal Altians can hope to accomplish against the overwhelming Russian forces. The US carrier USS Gerald R. Ford and its battlegroup was directed towards Altis but it cannot approach or conduct any operations until the medicane passes. The Russians feel confident and they believe the presence of the medicane favors them. Base on Stratis is preparing for increased air operations after the weather is favorable again, while Malden houses a lot of Russian logistics and HQ facilities. Altian intelligence has even noted the presence of Gatekeeper's WRDD (Weapons Research and Development Division) on the island, though it is unclear what exactly they're doing there. The Russians have moved most of their forces out of Malden, leaving just enough to control the population and secure the island against remnants of NATO forces - brave soldiers who managed to escape the Russian forces when the last NATO bastion on Malden fell. Brave soldiers who now sense an opportunity to strike under the cover of the medicane. The Assets Player faction: Remnants of NATO forces on Malden Player slots: 30 - PLATCO - 4 man command element - 3 Infantry Squads - Alpha, Bravo, Charlie - 8-man each - Whatever vehicles and gear could be salvaged/saved/captured The mission Disrupt Russian operations on Malden and try not to die in the process. 5. Date: 21.06.2020 16:30 UTC Expected mission length: 120+ min (might be over or under) Act 3 - Weather the storm Part 5 The Russian push was swift. Well prepared, well executed. Despite that, the western attack failed to move too far beyond the chokepoint before Altian troops rallied and pushed the Russians back, retaking the fortifications line that was overrun earlier. Now the west holds, though things are certainly not quiet there. In the east, however, things look grim. An armored spearhead managed to break Altian defenses around Dorida. Russian armor pushed on, opening the way for encirclement of Pyrgos, but sustained heavy losses in the process. The tanks were sent for repairs while the mechanized forces are laying siege to the city. Meanwhile, a Russian airborne detachment was sent further north in an attempt to cut off any possibility of troop movement between the center of the island and the north-eastern portion. Many words are being thrown in the Altian HQ. Many accusations. Accusations of incompetence, sometimes even treason, but the truth of the matter is that the Russians struck with overwhelming force and this brings more questions and more accusations - where is the help from NATO allies? Did they abandon their promises, the island in need? The American and British troops on the island fight valiantly, but there are very few of them. Where are the reinforcements that were promised - no one seems to know... And in this dire situation no one can spare the time to care about other threats - the medicane that is about to hit the archipelago, Freedom and their temporarily unopposed operations. All minds are focused on the crisis of the Russian offensive. A crisis the Altians were preparing for the entire time, yet now seem completely unprepared for... 6. @kman Regarding the time we could possibly arrange to switch the time to 17:00 UTC or "maybe" 17:30 UTC (that one is uncertain on my end of things) if that's what people are inf avor of. I would need to know how many people would prefer that and whether that is indeed a big reason for the turnout. Regarding the ammo and armor, youa re using modern standard-issue 5.56 ammo. There is nothing wrong with it and the problem lies elsewhere, in the settings. You can see it both on liberation and gamenights and we are aware of it and will tweak the settings to make things better.
  7. Date: 07.06.2020 16:30 UTC Expected mission length: 120+ min (might be over or under) Act 3 - Weather the storm Part 4 Despite insurgent pressure and artillery bombardment, the Altian forces did not retreat from the territory they have secured. The firebases were eliminated and insurgents forced back. It seems that this move allowed to secure the area, as no further pushes were made by the insurgents. It is clear that they were hoping to force the Altian retreat by putting pressure on the Altian forces. It is now clear that Altians have intent of moving and the insurgents lack the strength to retake the territory in an open battle. It also appears that Templar is either unwilling or unable to commit his force at this time. However, despite these successes, the Altians must now limit their actions against the insurgency and focus on the threat in the south. With general Vsevolod Mikhailovich Izhutin, known as "Chessmaster" in command of the Russian force and fresh troops that arrived from Malden and mainland, it is only a matter of time before... BREAK! BREAK! The Russians have just begun their offensive. Things look bad. Everything is on fire. 8. I am pretty sure people don't actually read these briefings, so I don't think dictioinary would really help. Midnight is close enough. Insurgents - pretty self explanatory, they are the local rebels Freedom - anarchist organisation that is aiding the insurgents, providing funding, equipment, training and assisting with coordination. Freedom forces are also present on the island, less numerous, but better trained and equipped than insurgents. In-game represented by AAF. Templar - Alias of the highest ranking Freedom commander on Altis, who is in charge of their operations here Gatekeeper - Mercenary force acting as an arm of arms manufacturing concerns. They are equipped with all the newest tech and are used both for combat testing and demonstration of effectiveness of said tech. Like a practical advertisement. Employed by the Russians and in-game represented by CSAT.
  9. Date: 31.05.2020 16:30 UTC Expected mission length: 120+ min (might be over or under) Act 3 - Weather the storm Part 3 The Altian operation against the insurgent was successful, but it is clear that the Altians won't be able to follow through as much as they'd like to. The Russians are mobilizing far too quickly. Additional Russian units are arriving on the island and taking positions on the frontline and intelligence indicates the great general Izhutin, responsible for the fall of Malden, has now taken command of the Altis invasion force. The insurgents and Freedom are definitely displeased by Altian actions, but they do not intend to give up. They have set up firing bases, ambushes and roadblocks and are preparing for a larger fight. They are, however, aware that Altians are about to hand their hands full with the Russians and they are attempting to use it to their advantage. They are intensively shelling the FOB that was recently captured by the Altians, hoping to persuade them to abandon it. In face of imminent Russian offensive the Altians must either deal with the threat or fall back. Confident that the insurgents can't possibly have the forces necessary to push back, and seemingly ignoring Templar's primary force, the Altian command decides not to retreat. The insurgent fire positions must be eliminated and the FOB area secured. This operation must count, as it is probably the last opportunity to strike at the insurgents before hell breaks loose on the Russian front. Interestingly, thanks to interrogating Freedom commanders captured at the FOB we have managed to learn more about "The Thor's Hammer". It is a highly advanced EMP weapon developed in secrecy by Gatekeeper, supposed to achieve effective pulse radius similar to a tactical nuke, but without the use of fissile materials. It is clear that Freedom intends to get its hands on its weapon and a large portion of their operations are aimed at finding its location. For now the Altian command decides not to be concerned about the hypothetical danger of the insurgents getting their hands on it and focuses on the coming operation and preparations for the fight with Russians. 10. Date: 24.05.2020 16:30 UTC Expected mission length: 120+ min (might be over or under) Act 3 - Weather the storm Part 2 As insurgent activity spikes across all of Altis outposts are attacked, convoys are lost and both Altian and Russian operations are being disrupted. The insurgents feel bold, they have concluded that with both sides preparing for another major clash they can move and operate freely. The Altian command has finally reached the conclusion that enough is enough and this issue must be dealt with right now, even if it means temporarily weakening the Russian frontline. With Russians steadily pulling more forces towards Altis, the frontline situation will only get worse with time, and so the operation against the insurgent threat is authorized. Altian intelligence uncovered interesting information about the insurgents thanks to intel gathered in the field and questioning captured insurgent leaders. They believe they have located several important installations used to store weapons, equipment and ammunition, as well as facilitate communications and ops control. These facilities must be taken out if the insurgent threat is to be contained. It is also apparent that many insurgent operations are looking to gather information on "Thor's Hammer". Recently, they were searching for a Russian recon outpost in Altian territory, hoping to find data and encryption keys, but that attempt was thwarted by Altian forces, who secured the outpost first. The data found there would be useless to the insurgents but they were certainly useful to the Altians, revealing Russian recon plans as well as any weak points and movements scouted by the enemy - weak points which can now be reinforced, movement plans which can now be altered. Now Altian forces are preparing to venture into insurgent-controlled territory, aiming to show them they cannot operate with impunity. 11. Date: 17.05.2020 16:30 UTC Expected mission length: 120+ min (might be over or under) Act 3 - Weather the storm Part 1 Malden has fallen into Russian hands. Many lives were lost during the stalwart defense and there reports that some of the NATO combatants managed to survive and are now hiding on the island. With the island firmly under Russian control, there is no way to help them now - they're on their own, trapped in enemy territory. Luckily, with the involvement of USMC and USS Gerald R. Ford, the [REDACTED] was recovered from Malden and the Russians remain unaware of the true nature of [REDACTED]. And so it seems a crisis was avoided, though having to involve USMC and a carrier in this conflict is reason for worry, as it may lead to escalation of the war. Right now USS Gerald R. Ford, with the critical cargo still aboard, is sailing south, away from archipelago of Altis and a forming medicane that may soon hit it and - more importantly - away from the battlegroup of Russian battlecruiser Admiral Nakhimov, which was dispatched to chase the carrier away from the islands. It is certain that Russians will now commit their forces to the fight on Altis and it seems they have already began moving forces, though unfortunately NATO forces are unable to do much about it at this time. Additionally, the insurgents have increased their activity across the island, especially in Russian-controlled territory. There is suspicion that it is connected to Freedom's interest in Gatekeeper's prototype weapon - "Thor's Hammer". Altian troops are doing their best, fortifying before the imminent Russian assault and trying to contain the insurgent threat. As it is autumn, days get shorter and shorter and weather gets worse - there is also a medicane forming, threatening to hit the archipelago of Altis. The Assets Player faction: Altian armed forces Player slots: 30 - PLATCO - 4 man command element + BRDM-2UM command vehicle - 3 Infantry Squads - Alpha, Bravo, Charlie - 8-man each - Vortex - 2-man helicopter pilot team (pilot and co-pilot) - Mi-8 and UH-60 transport helicopters - 1x BTR-70 - Various wheeled support vehicles The mission The insurgents are conducting operations across the island and it is clear that they are searching for something. Your unit is awaiting for another reported attack, and preparing to move as soon as possible when it happens. 12. Tactical overview The remnants of NATO forces (combined US, British and Altian troops) are holding the airfield, but they are surrounded by Russian troops. They have a line of fortifications to the south and west, but they won't be able to hold on their own. There are still non-combat personnel in need of evacuating, their location will be relayed to you so you can prepare their extraction. Situation is delevoping dynamically and additional information will be provided before you depart the ships. The base is also housing a classified american facility known commonly as The Dome. It is a black site dedicated to conducting illicit operations focused primarily on monitoring or intercepting data relayed by spy sattelites of various countries, or even actively hacking into sattelite networks. The information stored in the data banks of the facility are critical in two ways - firstly, they are a significant asset for our war effort and could be an equally significant asset for the enemy, if captured. Secondly, many of the files are politically sensitive and may or may not involve countries that are neutral or allied - if the operation is revealed to the world, ot could cause us certain diplomatic difficulties. The emergency procedures involve transferring critical data onto a mobile platform and wiping the local storage in a way that will make it impossible for enemy technicians to recover it. You must delay the fall of the base untill the process is completed. Afterwards, recover the mobile platform from The Dome and evacuate it to USS Gerald R. Ford. You will need to use a heavy helicopter to slingload the package, as such CH53 is mission-critical equipment. After the non-combat personnel and the package are secure, evacuate your forces from Malden. Carrier operations You deploy on two ships: the carrier USS Gerald R. Ford and escorting destroyer USS Patrick Gallagher. The armoury is located aboard the Patrick Gallagher and this should be considered the priamry infantry spawn at the beginning. However, after your gear is sorted it might be easier to depart from the carrier, depending on your reinsert plan. There are means for easy transfer of personnel between ships available. Due to limited munitions, the anti-surface weaponry of the destroyer is restricted for self-defense, carrier protection and emergencies, as such you should not expect it to fire in support of the ground forces. Pilots are expected to take necessary precautions during the flight operations, as deck park is in use. There is still more than enough space to conduct launch and recovery operations and taxi without assistance from deck crew. Locations of servicing pads: 1 on each elevator, 1 on rotorcraft landing pad behind the island and 1 on the landing pad of the destroyer. Landing strip is angled - when landing line up with the strip and not with the ship itself - this could result in crashing into parked aircraft. Overlord will provide deck crew assitance with unfolding and moving rotorcraft as necessary.
  13. Date: 03.05.2020 16:30 UTC Expected mission length: 120+ min (might be over or under) Act 2 - Might of the Bear Finale As days pass it is clear that neither Russians nor Altians have any intention of advancing. The frontline is almost silent, as the calm is interrupted only by occasional airstrike, artillery barrage or occasional gunfire. Yet it seems like both sides wish to conserve both ammo and manpower and it is only recon elements that are clashing against the frontline, attempting to gather information or sneak into enemy backlines. For the time being the Altian troops further from the front, dealing with insurgent presence are seeing more action than those on the frontline. While insurgents aren't making an armed push it is clear that their influence is slowly spreading, poisoning the minds of the population. Altian troops are conducting patrols, trying to maintain security in the region and make sure that majority of the civilians still support the government. During a recent patrol, a detachment of Altian troops did exceptionally well. In addition to providing relief supplies to several villages, the troops managed to find and destroy an insurgent stash as well as a major enemy encampment, managing even to capture the leader of said encampment. They were also commended for dealing with a hostage situation. Both the attacker and hostage were questioned and it was determined that the hostage must have some sort of contact with the insurgents, though no proof of his cooperation was found. He was released and is being watched by intelligence operatives in the hope that it might lead to an insurgent hideout. The attacker was diagnosed with PTSD and is receiving professional help. While the situation on Altis seems almost boring, the situation on Malden has undergone a rapid development. Russian forces under command of general Vsevolod Mikhailovitch Izhutin, also known as "The Chess master", have advanced rapidly, seizing control of almost entire island in several days. Now only one bastion of NATO resistance remains, defended fiercely by remnants from Altian, British and American forces. Izhutin is determined to put an end to invasion of Malden and it is only a matter of time before the defenders are overrun. There is, however, a critical installation in the NATO base. As part of secret agreement between USA and Altian government, the US established a [REDACTED] on Malden, in addition to a small garrison. The Russians seem to be aware of [REDACTED], but they do not yet know the purpose of the facility, only that is crucial. The emergency procedures are in effect and evacuation of [REDACTED] must be a priority. If Russians gain access to the facility, it will be a strategic and diplomatic disaster for the USA. As such, even in danger of possible escalation of conflict, a detachment of US marines is sent in to delay the fall of Malden and aid the evacuation effort. The Assets Player faction: USMC Player slots: 30 - PLATCO - 4 man command element - 2 Infantry Squads - Alpha, Bravo - 10-man each - Viking - 4-man Team equipped with SMAW or Javelin - Vortex - 2-man helicopter pilot team (pilot and co-pilot) - Torrent - 2-man jet pilot element - F/A-181 jets based on USS Gerald R. 14. Date: 26.04.2020 16:30 UTC Expected mission length: 120+ min (might be over or under) Act 2 - Might of the Bear Part 9 As the front settled after the failed Altian counter-offensive, new arguments erupt in high command. There are those who take the side of the troops, who understand that nothing more could be done, that the attack was a foolish idea in the first place. There are also those who refuse to accept this reality, who blame the frontline commanders for failing to execute their ambitious plans, who refuse to accept that Russian forces are still too strong to push against. Regardless, a Russian drone hub was eliminated and intel was collected by Altian military - a victory of its own and about as much as could reasonably be accomplished. As Altian troops fall back from the attempted counter-push, the frontline stabilizes. As days pass, it remains quiet. The Russians are holding their position and it appears that they are content for now. It is unknown at this time whether they are awaiting reinforcements from the mainland or for the Malden force to take the island and support the Altis invasion. For the time being it looks like the situation on Malden is much worse than on Altis. The Russians are pushing relentlessly with general Izhutin determined to end the invasion and start dealing with Altis. Despite a non-escalation policy of US forces, USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier is being dispatched into the Mediterranean to conduct operations in the area of Altis archipelago. Time will tell if the Russians won't consider it reason enough for committing greater forces and escalating this "proxy" war. Situation on Altis seems stable for now, though the silence in the south is only part of the worry. There is also silence in the north, as Freedom forces are still electing not to act. Whatever their plan is, they are playing the longer game. As Altian intelligence gets to work on decoding intelligence recovered from the drone hub, they also report that some information was uncovered regarding Freedom and their attempt to access Gatekeeper's classified files. It appears that they were attempting to access data of Gatekeeper's WRDD (Weapons Research and Development Division) related to an experimental weapon codenamed "The Thor's Hammer". What the weapon is and what Freedom wants with it remains unknown... The Assets Player faction: Altian armed forces Player slots: 30 - PLATCO - 4 man command element + BRDM-2UM command vehicle - 3 Infantry Squads - Alpha, Bravo, Charlie - 8-man each - Vortex - 2-man helicopter pilot team (pilot and co-pilot) - Mi-8 and UH-60 transport helicopters - 1x BRDM-2 - Various wheeled support vehicles The mission This is a routine operation. You will visit several villages, deliver humanitarian supplies to the civlians and make sure the area is secure. 15. Tactical overview Your task is to push against the Russians and attempt to regain territories lost after they established air dominance. There is a drone hub in the area, which is your primary objective. Eliminating it would be of great help, there is also a chance we would be able to find useful intel inside. If able, push south and reestablish original frontline (marked in red). If unable to accomplish that focus on recon by combat, asses enemy strength and installations and pull back to safe position. More information about enemy movement will be provided before mission start. Enemy force consist primarily of mechanized infantry. Our intelligence suggests that you may also encounter minor Gatekeeper* presence supporting the Russians near the hub. Be aware that the drone hub means active drones in the region, there will likely be some sort of unmanned technology, such as autonomous turrets, employed to aid in its protection. Further to the south are stationed elements of the 107th Tank Brigade - the same that conducted failed assault on Dorida - equipped primarily with tanks of the T-80 line. It is possible that they will be sent in in response to your actions, so be prepared for that when you poke the Russian nest. Additionally, enemy fixed-wing are still a threat, to aid you in dealing with them CAP planes are at your disposal in addition to portable launchers. *For people who don't read/don't remember/don't really care: Gatekeeper in this campaign is represented by CSAT
  16. Date: 19.04.2020 16:30 UTC Expected mission length: 120+ min (might be over or under) Act 2 - Might of the Bear Part 8 Thanks to swift action of the Altian special forces the hostage situation was dealt with without much issue. All HVTs were rescued, albeit some of them were injured in the process. The team has also successfully defused the explosive charges set by the enemy. Our sources indicate that Phantom, who was behind this attack, survived the encounter and escaped. There is a possibility that he left the site even before the assault started, which would also mean that Freedom would have been able to extract the HVTs as well. This in turn means that they likely had no plans of kidnapping them - they wanted them buried beneath the rubble when the charges go off. While many officers believe that Freedom was left to its own devices for far too long and action must be taken against them soon, the high command has decided to focus on the Russians. With the aggressive Russian push on Malden and recent Altian success at Molos, an operation is launched to regain the ground lost to the Russians in the eastern part of the island. Many think it unwise, as Altian forces are hardly prepared for the offensive, but the minds of high command couldn't be changed. They are determined to push before the Russians recover fully from the damage inflicted behind their lines. Even with ever more heated arguments erupting between various colonels and generals of the Altian armed forces, the Altian counterattack is scheduled to commence, no matter how rushed and unprepared it might be. The Assets Player faction: Altian armed forces Player slots: 31 - PLATCO - 4 man command element + BRDM-2UM command vehicle - 3 Infantry Squads - Alpha, Bravo, Charlie - 8-man each - Vortex - 2-man helicopter pilot team (pilot and co-pilot) - Hermes - 1-man jet pilot element - 1x Mi-24G attack helicopter - Mi-8 transport helicopters - 1x MiG-29 - 1x Su-25 - 4x L-159 - 1xBTR-70 - Various wheeled support vehicles The mission You are tasked with retaking the territory in the eastern part of the island, lost to the Russians after they dominated the skies. Ideally, we want you to push back the Russians and secure the territory, but we are uncertain how "viable" that is. Worst case scenario consider it to be recon by combat. Destroy enemy fortifications and support isntallations, primarily the drone hub located somewhere in the area. Be wary of possible Russian counterattack, as well as enemy aircraft. More information will be provided soon. 17. Situation overview There isn't much information available. We don't know the composition of enemy forces or how far they have set up the perimeter. We also do not know which building the hostages are being held in or what the enemy intention towards the hostages is. They might plan a public execution for all we know, so our action must be decisive. Safety of the hostages, primarily the civilian officials (prime minister and minister of defence) should be of top priority. There are 4 HVTs total - prime minister, minister of defence and two generals. There are possibly others, civilian staff or other military personnel. Action should be taken to ensure their safety, but the 4 HVTs mentioned before are deemed the most important. Altian special forces start the operation in FOB east of the area. You should conduct recon fo the site to identify enemy positions and location fo the hostages before taking any offensive action. In daylight it will be impossible to save the hostages with stealth. We don't anticipate any fortified position apart from buildings themselves, as they had no time or resources to erect them, and we didnt have any they could capture either. The enemy have been on sight only for three hours. As the enemy commander is the "legendary" Phantom, proceed with caution. We know virtually nothing about the man himself, but we know his way of operating. He is a master of ambush and infiltration and he always keeps some nasty tricks up his sleeves. His force is going to consist primarily or exculsively out of well-trained Freedom troops, but otherwise we can't be sure about the composition or presence of vehicles. While it has been confirmed that Phantom himself is (or was) on site, dealing with him is not part of your mission. Many tried and failed, and you should focus on saving the hostages rather than chasing ghosts.
  18. Date: 12.04.2020 16:30 UTC Expected mission length: 120+ min (might be over or under) Act 2 - Might of the Bear Part 7 Altian forces managed to secure Molos and surroudning area and repel the VMF landing. The Russians took great risk by deciding to commit to another area rather than reinforce existing frontline and this loss will set them back fairly significantly. Altian intelligence reports that these events were a reason for Russian high command to be extremely displeased with actions of the general who was commanding the Altis Invasion force. Displeased enough that he was relieved of his duties as commanding officer and for the time being the senior commander of the Russian force is colonel Ivan Ivanovitch "The Shark" Bukov. Despite his aggressive nature he was reportedly ordered to hold the offensive until reinforcements arrive to assure adequate advantage. Intelligence is also fairly certain that the renowned general Vsevolod Mikhailovitch Izhutin, known more widely as "Chessmaster" - currently the commander of Malden Invasion Force - has requested to take command of the Altis force. While his request was denied for now, there are strong indications that he will be put in charge of Altis force when Malden falls. The situation on Malden is not good. The Russians are advancing slowly, but steadily, utilising every weakness of defending forces. It also seems that Chessmaster opted to increase his speed of advance to compensate for Russian failures on Altis. It is clear that despite decently sized US garrison stationed on Malden, the island won't hold for long. On Altis, however, for the first time there is some hope for the defense of the island. The loan provided by the Americans to buy weapons from manufacturers in USA and other NATO countries allowed Altian military to start replenishing equipment losses. As shipments start arriving on the archipelago and equipment and vehicles are distributed to frontline forces, high command grows hopeful in their ability to hold off the Russians. Of course there are still substantial Russian forces at reserve which could support the invasion, it is clear by now that neither Russia nor USA are willing to commit their full might to this conflict. While NATO and Russian troops are firing upon one another, the war is viewed as more of a proxy war rather than a clash between superpowers, with both sides trying to minimize possible escalation of the conflict. There is still the danger from Freedom forces, which for unknown reason are still opting not to move. Altian intelligence is working hard to discover their plans but there is still little information about what their intention is and what files they were trying to access on Gatekeeper servers. As Altian high command re-evaluates the defense plans and entertains themselves with an idea of re-taking part of the territory lost to Russians, shocking news come through: Freedom forces under command of Phantom have infiltrated a top-secret, high-security meeting. Their intentions are unknown, but now the Altian prime minister, minsiter of defense and several high-ranking military personnel are being held hostage. The Assets Player faction: Altian special forces Player slots: 30 - PLATCO - 4 man command element + panther command vehicle - 3 Infantry Squads - Alpha, Bravo, Charlie - 8-man each - Vortex - 2-man helicopter pilot team (pilot and co-pilot) - UH-60, MH-6 and AH-6 helicopters - Various wheeled support vehicles The mission Freedom troops operating under command of Phantom infiltrated a high-security meeting and taken hostages. Lives of prime minister, miniser of defense and several high-ranking military personnel are at stake. It is unkown what the intention of the enemy is - for all we know they might be planning to either kidnap or execute them. Decisive action must be taken to save the hostages and Altian special forces are sent in to deal with the situation. 19. Tactical overview VMF landed on the north-eastern tip of the island and took the airfield as well as town of Molos. They must not be allowed to secure another foothold on the island and must be swiftly dealth with, before they can bring in heavy reinforcements. As we cannot afford to man another frontline, failure to secure the area would likely mean the loss of entire eastern half of the island. Enemy forces are concentrated in the town as well as around the airfield, there is a possibility they would send scouts further south, so you need to be carefull when crossing the hills south of Molos. Enemy force consist of infantry supported by some mechanized and motorized units, it is likely they managed to build some light fortifications, by nothing major. We have confirmed that Gatekeeper is not involved in the ground operation. As far as we know the enemy has no artillery or mortar support, but the skies are hostile. Enemy has utilised large amounts of strike aircraft since we lost radar coverage. The weather during the planned attack is supposed to be rather bad, which we hope will discourage enemy flight operations, but CAS will no doubt be called once they realise we are serious about advancing. You should try to make the best use of the early stage of the attack before enemy aircraft get on station. Due to our lack of radar coverage you will not be given an early warning about possible airstrikes. We expect no civilian presence in the AO, but always check your targets. You never know. Objectives: secure Molos, Molos airfield and area to the north-east of it.
  20. I was looking forward to that, but just realised that because of time-change shenaningans I might not be able to be there, since its still 18:30 UTC.
  21. Date: 05.04.2020 16:30 UTC Expected mission length: 120+ min (might be over or under) Act 2 - Might of the Bear Part 6 Altian forces menaged to deal with Russian airborne force and prevented the town of Syrta from falling into insurgent hands. However, the Russians managed to destroy the radar station, severely limiting Altian radar coverage over the island and making it a lot easier for Russian aircraft to operate. The following two weeks shown that Russians were very much aware of that fact, as large quantities of five-hundred-kilogram metal buckets filled with high explosive have been steadily falling from the sky. The loss of radar combined with enemy SEAD activity renders long range AA defenses of Altis largely ineffective and the invading Russians are utilizing this advantage. The fact that Russian radar and SAM launchers were among targets hit by Altian special forces somewhat helps, but the battle for the sky is now fought by fighters and unfortunately combined Russian and Gatekeeper air wings have an advantage over Altian air force. Under heavy bombardment the Altian forces holding the frontline in the eastern part of the island were forced to retreat and give up ground. Largely unopposed, the Russians advanced along the eastern shore towards Kalochori before meeting any real resistance. Additionally, in an attempt to accelerate the invasion progress they opted for a risky move. VMF forces that were supposed to reinforce the western section were re-directed to attempt landing at the north-eastern end of Altis. They made landfall under air cover of their aircraft and have taken the town of Molos, as well as a nearby airfield, which was luckily evacuated in time. Altian high command realizes that they cannot afford to split their forces to hold yet another frontline. The VMF force must be dealt with immediately. If the Russians secure a foothold in the north Altian military will be forced to retreat and give up the entire eastern half of the island. With no fortifications prepared so far back, this would likely spell doom for the defending force. There is still the issue of Freedom and the insurgency. Reports about the strength of Templar's primary force indicate that they could afford to push forward if they wanted to. The fact that they're staying put would indicate that Templar is playing a bigger game, as it would be strange of him not to take advantage of the difficult situation of the Altian army. Altian intelligence suspects that it may have something to do with the data Phantom was after, but as of right now there's no indication as to what they could contain. The Assets Player faction: Altian armed forces Player slots: 33 - PLATCO - 4 man command element + BRDM-2UM command vehicle - 3 Infantry Squads - Alpha, Bravo, Charlie - 8-man each - Vortex - 2-man helicopter pilot team (pilot and co-pilot) - Hammer - a US 3-man vehicle crew - to operate Abrams MBT - Mi-8 and UH-60 helicopters - 2xM1A2 Abrams - 1xBTR-70 (for infantry use) - Various wheeled support vehicles The mission Strike against the Russian VMF forces that landed in the north-east of island before they have a chance to bring in heavy reinforcements. Re-take town of Molos, the airfield and area further to the north of it. The Russians must not be allowed to secure another foothold on the island. 22. Your file is named arma3server_readme. The mission is looking for arma3_readme.
  23. Tactical overview The Russian forces are occupying Syrta and nearby Radar station. We suspect it is their intention to destroy the radar instalation, but for whatever reason they haven't accomplished that so far. The enemy force consists only of infantry, as they were unable to drop in any BMDs or Spruts. We have also confirmed that Gatekeeper troops are not present on the ground. Our intelligence revealed that the force is operating under command of renowned colonel Vasili Petrovitch Snegiryov, known also as "Archangel". He is an expert in airborne operations, but due to the success of our spec-ops teams, the enemy lacks the assets to conduct the operation with full efficiency. Due to destruction of enemy listening post, the operation was hampered by inaccurate intel. Furthermore, due to damage inflicted on enemy heliport and artillery, the VDV force is left with virtually no fire support, which robs Snegiryov of one of his most valued assets. However, while the enemy artillery and rotorcraft fire support is non-existent, the enemy SEAD mission is still ongoing, which means that our long-range AA capabilities are limited. Enemy may still decide to risk unmanned assets to provide fire support, there is also a possibility that the pilots of Gatekeeper's Shikra stealth jet may try their luck, but we aren't certain if they would risk the airframe, even when our air defenses are supressed. The insurgent and Freedom forces are present to the north and west of Syrta and we suspect they will try to assault the town. While this offers the possibility of locking the Russians between ours and Freedom forces, it also means a three-way engagement. The exact strength of insurgents is unknown. They are not part of Templar's primary force, though said force is close enough to assist if necessary. We have verified that INDIEFOR armored units are present in the area. Due to lack of supplies our FOB construction was impededand as such you are still based in Neochori, further to the south-east. There is an outpost in Agios Dionysos, which will be avaialble to youa s a forward deployment point, but it is smaller than a full-sized FOB and lacks all the facilities. There is also the danger of Russian troops having a line-of-sight on Agios Dionysos. Equipment in the outpost is at your disposal. In addition to other vehicles avilable to you, you will also have access to vehicles you have recovered during the mission to recover stolen supplies (1xBTR-70, 1xBRDM-2) it is up to you whether you will use these vehicles as standard assets or reserve one or both of them as possible replacements for Deimos. The primary objective of the mission is to secure Syrta and Radar site from the Russians and prevent the town from falling into insurgent hands. As time and manpower allows, your unit will attempt to advance further west-north-west and take out possible insurgent targets. It is strongly advised that you do not attempt to advance north, as this will surely force Templar's hand and it is unlikely you would survive the assault of his force. There may be further details revealed during pre-mission briefing, that will also be when you will receive answers to any questions you may have.
