I was playing on my modded Wibbler scenario and had a dumb idea: Leverage I&A3 code to create a single player scenario where main AO's are spawned 1-by-1 and you fly out of Guardian using any of the transport helos available. Landing within X number of meters of the center of the AO constitutes a good landing, and landing successfully back at Guardian clears that AO and spawns a new one. Once all main AO's have been completed you "win". The reason I say Guardian is it's centrally located. If you crash on landing or get shot down, that AO is reset and you need to successfully complete both phases to advance. Main AO's would spawn with all assets they normally spawn with if possible, if not just armored units. Extra credit: A chance of enemy CAP on AO spawn. So now we can point new pilots to a scenario that's as close to flying on EU#1 as possible w/o all the death encountered by their passengers during their training phase we normally encounter. This is most likely an ass ache of epic proportions to implement, but if not and the idea has merit I'd be willing to help out with my limited SQF skillz. There might be grunt work I could handle.

  8. A bit OT, but I really like the Logitech G300s mouse for Arma. (Lean toggle anyone?) Plus it's cheap.
  9. This is by no means a scientific comparison, but here's some video capture before and after the change. I wanted to keep stamina in the green, but use up a bit and see what the sway looked like. Before (100%) After (70%) So yeah, much much better.

  12. I've never seen a situation where we have all the FOBs and from what I understand there is an actual end-game if we complete all the missions. I don't know what happens, probably we all get nuked. So here is my dumb/brilliant idea: We have an event that runs on a weekend day, we hype it and try and get the server full right from server restart and maybe try and coordinate so the really early/late slots are full, but the idea is we want all slots full for the event. We could try and see if the Arma3 Twitter account would boost the event and isn't there some popular Arma podcast we could pitch this to? It seems like a fun way to try and get the community together for a common cause and see if we can actually beat I&A3, and since Invade & Annex is at least semi well known, get some free advertisement that Ahoy is where I&A was born and maybe get some new players. What inspired this idea is the motorsports endurance race where drivers/crew/etc... take stints to try and get their car over the finish line first. It would be an endurance race... of murder! There's probably all sorts of other fun ideas that could be incorporated into this, but I'll leave that to the AW community if anyone thinks this idea has merit. But really, I think it would be fun to try and band together to beat I&A3. Nothing would make me happier than being unable to find a open slot for this event as long as someone streamed it.

  14. Most vics on EU1 aren't fully crewed, it would be nice if you could set the countermeasures to just pop if an incoming missile lock is detected and you still have smokes. Seems like this is technically feasible using the "IncomingMissile" event handler, but I'm just throwing this out there to see what other people think.
  15. I'm going to just admit it, what attracts me to EU#1 is the fact you can "play it your own way". Time differences means often I'm soloing AO's but sometimes there's a good group to join and I'll do that, but I don't want to be forced into squads to play cooperatively when most of the time I want to just "do my own thing". The sort of weird chaos that happens on EU#1 because of the lack of command structure is a feature to me, not a bug. And despite that all, EU#1 has recently I think been pretty good. God bless our noobs, they seem to actually care about the experience and want to get better. Not sure if this post is useful, but I do love EU#1 as-is. It's like you gave randos military equipment and set them loose. Good fun.

  18. As far as I know only Radio Tower and Factory require players to load up with explosives to clear the AO. Can we have it so those use the scroll wheel to clear? It just seems like we should be consistent and it would help me as an FA to not have to try and train noobs about inconsistencies.

I'm making a custom Zeus mission to eventually run on AWE and previously I was using a weapons sway reduction mod off Armaholic until someone tipped me off to this SQF command: player setCustomAimCoef 0.15; No mods needed, will work in Vanilla and that coefficient seems like a nice balance to me. The bigger the number, the closer to vanilla behavior (1.00). There's still weapons sway, it's just reduced to a manageable/non-annoyance level and the decay on the effect seems faster. You can move 5 or 10m without going straight back into the full sway mode.
  21. Quality of life request: Put an arsenal outside the Hescos at both Last Stand and Stadium to make loading vics easier and help with preventing people running off with your ride when you're in the hangar grabbing gear.
  22. Are there issues with missions not showing completed? The following are showing on the map but without an AO circle, they're in "Tasks" on the menu. Sector 117183 Koroni Sector 122157 Lakka Main active AO, shows AO circle but: Sector 101149 (This one is missing "Location" link in tasks) and it seems complete, or at least sub-tasks, but not clearing. I do totally dig the new Units stuff. Good job on that!
