Retvis Bible PT. 1

This is amazing. Very well done; this will easily become a reference point for newly arriving players. Thoughts of mine on what could be included in Part 2. Chances are you've already thought about these. This will be added to when I think of things: Additionally, some suggested edits. Once again, I will add to this if I see anything. : Same as Copey, will read this more thoroughly when I get a chance. -
TeamSpeak prompted me to update to 3.1, so I had to update the TFAR plugin; I've attached the "about" page just for clarification. Is this not the case for anybody else?
-
Just wanted to make a quick post to remind everybody to update their plugins on TeamSpeak if they have not done so yet. I'm not sure if I'm just late to the party, but the 3.1 update went live for me earlier today and updating plugins completely skipped my mind. So, again, just a friendly reminder.

Thank you all for your quick and helpful replies. I haven't had a chance to try all these out just yet, but I'll certainly keep this updated and let everybody know what works best for me. Given I have a barebones gaming setup, which is approaching something like 5 years old, I wouldn't be too surprised if it was memory starting to go bad (I've pretty well got a new computer ready to buy and assemble, but I'm lacking the funds necessary for it, so this cheap hunk of hardware will probably be lasting me for another year or two). If nothing else, I can always just hope the Arma devs come out with both optimization and this memory crash fix within the semi-distant future.

I wanted to ask if anybody was getting similar errors to what I have (picture of an example below). I have searched for issues like this but found no resolution; it seems as though this is just something that has to be dealt with. If anybody has had or knows how to fix things like this, please let me know. It is becoming rare to be able to play on EU3 for more than an hour or so. Additional thoughts in here:

In the spirit of reviving this thread, here are some recent (recent meaning within the past 8 months) photos of me.

I'm not sure if I'm constantly on during the wrong times, but ever since the a couple days after the initial release of I&A3 I have never seen any of the FOBs be captured. Is this the case with anybody else, or is it coincidence?

Classic Leo and his fog.

If I could do that every day on EU3 I'd be in heaven. Anyhow, definitely plan to join in on this. See you guys there.

Will the logistical squad just be running back and forth with supplies? I'd love to do behind-the-scenes stuff like that.

5./11/'16 | AWE Gamenight - Operation Boom Chute | Prepare For Uranus
ShadowAce11 replied to MessedUpSmiley's topic in Events
I wish I could attend these more often, but as I'm in the US I'm still working. If someone would like to pay the necessary funds to move me to the UK, though, I would not complain. -
Call Signs & Unit Composition
ShadowAce11 replied to SkullCollector's topic in Enhanced Server Information And Discussion
I'll have you know I've missed only 70% of my MAAWS shots. I'd be all for renaming squads and creating a sort of "engineering" unit tasked with equipment setup, as you said. I think that would be vastly more realistic. Pawn is a bit iffy given the role of a pawn in chess (knowing you're expendable on the field doesn't contribute much to effectiveness); perhaps change that to Womble squad. That way we at least think that we contribute something to the team. Nonetheless, this sounds great. -
Since I didn't see anything via a quick forums search, I wanted to make this thread for people to show off what they've made; everyone deserves a little self-promotion. This can be anything you're proud of or just something you want some feedback on. So, I'll start things off: I love making videos about Earth and space. I'm currently working on one space video now, which will probably still take a while to finish; I hate recording on a computer that can't handle it. But, the two I have done are below, plus a trailer I edited for Battlefield 2 Project Reality. Additionally, I just wrapped up making a neat sound effect that might be nice in a gamenight (thinking I might create one for you guys if I ever get experienced enough with Zeus/Ares/Eden/AnyOtherReligiousFigureBecauseApparentlyArma3DevsLikeMythology):

Next Ahoyworld Enhanced Training night: AUGUST 20, 1800GMT
ShadowAce11 replied to Ryko's topic in Events
I'll be glad to attend should you want some additional players who could help with the training. -
Before I go into details, I want everyone to feel pity for me because I have an Alienware setup. Now then, the specs: Model: Alienware Andromeda R5 Processor: Intel i5-3330 @ 3GHz RAM: 6 GB Graphics Card: GeForce GT 640 Cooling: Fan Video card dislodges: Sometimes Emits foghorn-like error sound: Whenever I get close Got this wonderful product for a steal price of $600. On the bright side though, I do have a dual-monitor setup (edit: each monitor is 23-inches in diameter). I definitely want to upgrade, but I'm so cheap I'll still be waiting a couple more months at the least. At the very minimum I'd like to have a computer that could run SpaceEngine and record without a significant frame drop. As someone who makes short videos from what they record, it's frustrating to deal with clips that have framerate spikes and/or freeze.

I looked at the pricing and Space Engineers actually hosts their own servers at a very reasonable price of [am I allowed to discuss pricing here?] per slot. Since we would likely only have a community of 8 or less people actively playing it would only cost [am I allowed to discuss pricing here?] per month. Now, the restriction is that the server has to be public, but I'm sure there's some way to whitelist. Thoughts?
-
Hey guys, I guess by my avatar it's no surprise I'm proposing this, but what would you all think about looking into Space Engineers? I'm sure there would be at least a few community members that would love this type of game.

This is way easier to fix (if you want a cheap lazy fix) than what it seems. The problem with Sync is that it needs to find the file directory C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_65. However, when I looked into this issue, all I had in that directory was a jre1.8.0_101 and jre1.8.0_60. So, all I did was just copy the _101, and renamed it jre1.8.0_65. Sync booted right up without a problem after that and has not repeated the issue. Do not copy the _60 folder, as that does not have all the required files; only _101 will. If you haven't resolved the issue, I hope this helps.

I hadn't seen that before, SkullCollector had pointed that out to me. Originally I thought it looked too much like V (for Vendetta).
