  4. A certain percentage of enemy vehicles should be HMG ones. GMGs are not really that dangerous. It takes a while for the grenade to land so you can move around quite easy to avoid it. I don't know if they increased AI precision after last upgrade (ifrits have disappeared) but the precision was really bad over a distance if you were laying still too. They often hit several meters in front of you. Before I found AW I was playing on servers that had HMG ifrits, and they were quite deadly. The crew didn't have a high fire rate, an issue with GMG too, but the rounds hit almost instantly and very precise. They also shot at helicopters. Disclaimer: I don't suggest this because I want to capture ifrits to have a more powerful vehicle, you can have the ammo removed or limited on captured enemy HMG as far as I'm concerned. I just don't think the GMG ones are dangerous enough for players and I would like to try and see if the HMG ones are.
  5. I'm mostly positive to letting the players get whatever load out they want. But some stuff is over powered (mortars) or just bad for gameplay if everyone have access (snipers and to some extent AT launchers in my opinion). Enemy uniforms are a gate for conflict between players where the players with enemy equipment blames other players for team kills!!!
  6. I hope not too far off topic, but the same restrictions on sniper equipment should have been done to AT (and AA in the future?) a long time ago in my opinion. I get quite annoyed when going to side mission and a couple of guys finish it off from a distance with rocket launchers. It has got a bit better lately, I guess people learned the lack of effectiveness, but also the shooting of rockets on infantry is a bit irritating.
  7. In my opinion the guns are worse. But yes, some kind of check so you cannot get stuff that we have restricted in this way (not only sniper stuff) is something I'd like as well.

  15. Welcome to ahoy, KingScuba. I believe the way to go with the pilot "issue" is to try to enforce a proper way to play. players should wait for medics, medics should do their job, repair specialist should be prepared to repair stuff if asked for, pilots should do their job and players should wait for transports (and not respawn as soon as mission is over). We have this pretty much going at a sort of acceptable level on the EU server, so I don't see why we wouldn't be able to on the US server.
  16. Looks like I need to sit in on the us server more and see to it that the pilots and medics are doing their job and people wait for medic instead of instant respawn. 20 minutes is way too much even at evac from old ao.

  18. When the community was smaller I can totally understand the current subscription model; maximize income on a few dedicated members. But with the current growing community I suggest a muliti-tiered subscription model. At least a "Ahoy+ light" level for people who thinks the current Ahoy+ subscription is a bit too much to pay as a monthly fee, but still want to contribute.

  21. I though having enough pilots was the least of all problems when the server isn't full. In my experience the pilot slots are more or less the first to be filled. Rather, having too many pilots relative to the number of players is a more common problem by far. By the way: The current map isn't that big. Using land vehicles to get around is not that much of a problem.
