I believe adding a new aircraft that isn't part of the original program, like a Harrier etc would require a mod to be loaded on your server and everyone's pc that connects to your server, load up the mods you want on your pc then start the editor add what you want and save the mission file, but remember to let your players know you are now running the mods :)

I have decided to learn to pilot heli's, I'm good with fixed wings but a disaster in rotary, so its into the editor for a crash (forgive the pun) coarse in heli piloting skills then on to my test server where I can do missions without killing a load of passengers, I can't fly using the keyboard and mouse so I've hooked up my x-55 hotas and I'll see how I go with that, any tips would be welcome, I've already had one and that is to buy rudder pedal controls for the tail rota. B)

  3. I don't play I&A3 on eu2 anymore because of.....

     

    Very few pilots play there now, without pilots it makes the game mostly travel time and less ground war, if I wanted a travel time game I would play euro trucker!

    New weapon restrictions for the spotters

    It takes ages to get anywhere by boat

    There are no vehicles to use / steal to drive in land when you get out the boat, the airport has no vehicles whatsoever, every airport I know of is littered with cars etc

    You can travel for 20 minutes then find a red smoke grenade suddenly apears at your feet in the middle of the jungle, then cas wipes you out.

    No vehicles at main base as they are all on the beach getting a sun tan

    I too hate the fog but that's reality for you, I do like the darkness and rain though

     

    Its basically just not fun anymore, I appreciate all the work that has gone into it and the idea behind it, but it just doesn't work in its current form on the tanoa map.  And I'm sorry but I have no suggestions on possible solutions to these problems at this time, it will require much thinking to solve this one.

    The AI certainly got a bit more spicey, I am practising the sniper role at the moment, shooting from around 1Km and through a small gap in the jungle I got 3 shots off then a red smoke granade lands next to me, this happens all the time on eu2 now, it doesn't seem so agressive on server 1 maybe as there are more players for the AI to target, I do prefer a more agressive AI as its more challenging, but at the ranges I'm shooting and in the middle of thick jungle the AI must be using telepathy lmao :)

  5. on eu2 after Sunday's launch.

     -vehicles do not de spawn when leaving them to take boats, which is the only way to get to missions when no heli pilots are on.  with only 3 boats available I can also see a situation where all the boats are gone and no way to get to do the missions except swim, that would equals an empty server.

    -after assigning myself to a mission on both servers 2 minutes later I get automatically dropped from the mission assignment,

    -as a revived player I sometimes cannot move but I can plant and detonate explosives?

    -went to do a side mission on the main island, after a 10 minute boat ride I get to the airport and there were no vehicles to steal, now I've only been to an airport a few times but I can tell you there were cars everywhere, the side mission was a 3.5km hike from there, I was loosing inspiration to do the mission.

     

    I will now appologise to all the groups on both servers who invite me in when I play spotter, I won't be taking the spotter slot from now on, as you know I will sit on a hill reporting the position of all I see and marking it on the map, sometimes without even taking a shot so I don't give my position away, well they might as well just rename the spotter slot as "rifleman" now as the spotter has been restricted to 5.56 weapons and short range scopes, you can no longer take the EMR 7.62 rifle or long range scopes, (I could see all the weapons in the arsenal but they were taken off me shortly after selecting them), the reasoning behind this apparently is that the spotter is there as a protection detail for the sniper, how this is to be achived when the spotter has his face glued to a rangefinder is beyond my comprehension, and as both are proficiant snipers why can't the spotter pick up the rifle from a dead sniper and carry on the mission as would happen in real life.  Most of the time on the servers its very hard to find a sniper that even wants a spotter tagging along, they usually prefer to be out there on thier own anyway making the spotter role redundant in a 2 man team.

  6. Ahhh was that what it was? No one had a clue what had happened, but to be killed by a big explosion while lying in a field looking for an enemy sniper that was picking off our guy's at the radio tower mission, then seeing the messages scrolling up saying I had team killed everyone around me was a shock, then we hear the base was a wreck and it looked like it had been hit by a B52 bomber, the arsenal and everything had gone most things were a burning wreck, so we asked baconmop and xOderusUrungusX to look at the server as we thought it was throwing a fit, shortly thereafter it was all fixed and back to normal (thanks guy's).

I had that cba_a3 warning too, but I was told to unsubscribe from the steam workshop and delete the @cba_a3 shortcut from the !workshop folder, that did work but to me that's messing with the way the game works, so I wonder why its not working as it was designed.  I was discussing it on eu1 last night with Teddy and Armentes no one can shed light on why some of the weapons have gone, I'm begining to think it might be due to the recent updates, I had to play as medic last night (out of my warm blanket comfort zone of marksman) so created a new loadout for it, I might go looking for the loadout file and remove anything that's stopping it from working as its a real pain in the ass and I don't want Lostbullet shouting "hurry up Aunty" as I'm stuck in the arsenal making up new loadouts lol :D

I can still have the EMR as spotter its the nightstalker scope that's missing along with many others (acog included) its not just my spotter loadout thats greyed, medic, engineer,  rifleman and others are all greyed out, and nowhere in the changelog does it say why, the thing is I'm not the only one this has happened too over the last week and server 2 is nowhere near as full as it used to be, I think a step backwards has been taken here :(

I always play spotter on eu2 when the slot is available, most of the time the snipers run off on their own and want to do their own thing, very rarely can I team up with someone who wants to play as a 2 man team, I always carry an EMR 7.62 and both an AMS and nightstalker scopes in my kit, I get invited to groups all the time as people like to have me in to spot for the group, they know I do a good job and with the EMR I have the weapon to take out the enemy sniper teams, however I've been away for the last 2 weeks and last night I went on servers 1 & 2 to find out that none of my loadouts work, they are all grey'ed out, I can't see anywhere on the forums of any changes that have been made to the servers, I'm upset and will have to adapt but it would be nice to know whats changed and why :(
