  1. if we'd end up using this as main base then the whole idea of 'invade and annex' is no more, current base is good as is, we invade the island from 1 end and gradually take over the rest of the island.. ur base is slap bang in the middle of the island, however it looks good though, dont get me wrong, just doesnt suite i&a as its intended imo.

i thought tents were a new feature , there cool anyway makes 1 player bareable , as its always too hard to travel back & forth to ao

If we let everyone place their own respawn tents then there wont be use for pilots anymore, taking away the immersion as everyone would simply spawn on their own tents rendering the pilots useless hence the tents will be disabled for I&A. Pilot insertions are much more fun and cooler than simply spawning in a tent you placed down somewhere close to the AO, this is no Battlefield we're playing here. :P

If that's an typo/auto correct and you mean thermal then no you can't, that option was removed it seems.

As it stands SL can do the least of all the roles in the mission, they are as stated before a basic rifleman.

As Amentes said, at least give the poor fella his GL back.

Yes, that was a typo dunno what I was thinking and I didn't know the option for thermal scopes was removed, sorry if that info missled you.

    Hahaha appreciated mate ;)

But are there any specific type of roles and/or rules pilots need to follow?

Btw, I have seen allot of people talk about VORTEX when they are talking about pilots... anyone who would care to explain what that is? ^^

Here are a few pilot rules.

  5. As the CSAT Supreme Commander I can confirm that the ninja trees are being paid by us to disrupt your air traffic, deal with it! >:] (just kidding)

And here I thought that the most deaths are caused by lack of situational awareness and improper risk management (-:

Vegetation pop in has some known solutions. Do you need help with that?

What is your object draw distance set to? What is your terrain detail set to? Are you running 64bit executable? How much RAM do you have or/and do you run Arma from SSD?

I've got an i7 6700k, 16gb ram, run it on an SSD and have the 64bit, draw distance set to max, however for objects in air it is set to 5 or 6km I believe and this still happens to me occasionally. :P

sweet include heli`s as well. just make all empty so we can load them up our selves (as everyone needs other things)
for example as pilot i like to carry
    10 fak`s
    10 titan at missiles
    1 mortar tube
    1 darter drone
    5 lazer designators
    5 gps`s
adding as requests are comming in

    mags on request

It's gonna be added to all the vehicles.

"every pilot is responsable for theire own heli. if you fuck up you need to fix it.
    ask for help in game
however after some time if you notice there is no one to help you out because people are incompetent, ignorent or just stupid
and you have done all you can you can blow your self up"

If you've given it a proper attempt to get someone to help you get your heli or any type of vehicle repaired and there is no Admin or Spartan to see if they can get people to play their role either then yes, you can blow it up or as mentioned above just leave it behind to respawn if no one is in the vacinity (500m I believe), if people are in the vacinity it won't respawn untill they've walked away far enough.

    so?

Not to start a argument about this, but these rules are on the forum, not on the server/mission file.

And it doesnt mention a timeline, too.

So when i call out for repair, how long you want me to wait for?

I might not mention i waited hours for (vehicle) repairs or walked back to base cause i got none?

Pilots need to transport people, not wait for repairs in the field.

I stick to my 6P rule.

Not cause i refuse to acknowledge your logic, but because i dont see the logic point in this (rule/guideline).

It's not just pilots who need to play the role they chose, if a repair specialst or medic doesn't wanna play their role you can also come in contact with a Spartan or Admin to get it sorted. If people refuse to play the role they chose, they will also be asked to leave and if refused will be forced to leave so someone more competent can take it's slot and do the roles job.

Just cause no one is willing to help or answer doesn't mean you can blow half the shit up so you can start over again, there are many ways to work around an issue.

apart from its a "old" reply from Cyro, this

    is debatable.

Its based on Zissou´s advice 1 year ago as the repair specialist ability to repair+fuel choppers was included to repair choppers way out of base.

I never find that a "practicle" solution and i ll just refer to the "BinLaden" engagement as example.

Your chopper is broken (for whatever reason) and no help is to be seen > rigg that chopper and work your way back to base instant (respawn, walk, drive, get in another chopper).

When i pilot i usually wear min. 2 sets of explosives with me and if my bird is in a situation i see the need for it i got the ability to blow it whenever i decide to.

    It just makes sense.

Even tho the "guidelines" (yea, its not a rule) says otherwise.

Point 4. 6. and 7. do mention assets are not to be wasted without an attempt to get it repaired, all 3 points mention assets are not to be wasted in their own way.

I indeed agree on most things, however taking off without a tail rotor is something I advice against. I would say ask an other pilot to bring IED to blow up the helicopter and return to base

No, no, no, no, no. There won't be any heli's blown up cause you've lost your tail rotor or something similiar, get a repair specialist, get another pilot to sling the repair container, get someone to drive the HEMMT repair over. If you're being caught blowing up an asset without attempting to get it fixed you'll face the consequences, you as a Spartan should know this more than anyone else Cryo.

To those who can't fly without a tail rotor or adapt to the situation you may find yourself? Don't be a pilot. There usually are enough Spartans or Admins available who also keep an eye on pilots, don't think we'll have a quiz or test, it would be too much of a hassle and whitelisting the slots won't work either on our public servers. Whitelisted pilots may not be online at all times to transport people from and to an AO hence it's open to the public and free to use. If a pilot is deemed reckless or simply can't control their aircraft they will be asked to leave the slot and practise in the editor, if they either ignore or refuse they will be forced to. Feel free to hop on our TS and find an Admin who is available to keep an eye on said pilot and possibly have him removed.
