  1. I just want to personally give a public THANK YOU! to

    Kamaradski

Without his hard work the past week or more, we would not have the arma servers back up and running yet. So thank you for that bro!

It doesn't just stop there though. He not only got our server reinstalled and ARMA servers online, but ALL the behind the scene stuff that you guys will never see or know is going on with our server, he has done such a superb job on everything he has done. I wish that I didnt have to work the past 4 days so that I could have helped.

So again, thank you very much bro, your hard work is not unappreciated. I hope your wife isn't pissed at you for all the time you spent getting us back up and running.

Also thanks to everyone else who has helped get things back in order, or are in the process of getting back up and running, I.e. Proxima and the MC servers, and anyone else who I'm not sure is helping because I am at work 12 hours every day.

  2. Rats....

The thing I like about getting missions from the source is that they are fairly vanilla.  From the wild, they tend to have lots of scripts implemented that we are not necessarily interested in.

    Got any suggested server(s)?

you could start with ummmm.... ours? :P

filter "ahoy" and join eu 1 or eu 2. :) thats usually how people get a copy before re actually publicly release.

  3. yes you are correct. or you can just delete that line altogether. Then remove "group_manager.sqf" from the whole mission. (want to keep it as slim and trim as possible so your users dont have to download huge missions to connect to your server.

Yea, the reason i was asking you what all you wanted removed before is because i was gonna suggest that you try removing the stuff yourself.

An easy way to go about doing it is just as you have, look inside the init.sqf and look for various stuff it is initializing. OR you could go to aramholics and look for any addons that we are using inside the mission. Such as BTC revive. Look how you are supposed to install that mod in a mission, then reverse engineer it in the mission, just do the opposite of how to install it.

I know that a while ago I tried to label all things that were being initialized in the Init, but I have been away from the scene for some time and not sure what all has changed in the mission while I was gone and if that proceedure is still being followed.

  4. No disrespect taken. Ty for enjoying the mission. We always encourage our users to tweak it to their liking.

The bad part is, to have us remove everything to a bare bones would be something you want to find someone with time to do.

How much or what all are you looking at having removed?

  5. be careful of having your server reboot to often. People who are playing on a server do not take kindly to being in the middle of an AO and all the sudden the server restarts. Especially if this happens more then once a day.

Just giving you a heads up that you could potentially be eliminating your playerbase by having scheduled restarts that people do not know about.

  6. I have to agree with you all. But as a novice driver myself, I will admit, I sometimes take corners "not at the optimum angle/speed". I do not purposely try to bump others, but it does happen.

You can definatley tell when someone is blatantly aiming for you or when it was just a case of trying to hard to overtake. I usually give way when I know someone is trying to pass and they are clearly a better driver then myself.

Anyways, I will be playing GRID a bunch over the next week if anyone wants to race and get some AW exp for the club, just let me know. You are warned though, I am still learning the tracks and am far from a pro driver. (easy exp/cash for you!)

  7. welcome aboard. You seem to have a bunch of stuff in your resume that I also do. Was a mechanic for 12 years, 17 if you count the times wrenched with my pops growing up. I went to college for graphic design and animation, which I used 3ds Max and Photoshop, as well as a bunch of others for. Glad to have you stop, hope you enjoy yourself.

  8. wow, nice writeup danne! now if i can get all of it to sink in....

let me ask you this though, if i sync the files that are in the repo with ones i am editing, i.e. i alter a file, click save, the sync now sees that the file has changed and updates the file in my forked repositorie..... will that then update the files on bitbucket? or do i need to do something for them to update on the website.

if it does it auto matically then i dont think i will use an autosyncer.

  9. Yep, I ran out of dev time before I had a chance to figure out a way to prevent this. On a side note, if you really wanted to abuse it, you could just sit inside that screen even halfway through the AO and still make it happen. Maybe someone will try to fix it until we have time to do so.
