  1. Welcome dude! Always good to see more people joining the community. I'd love to make a joke here but as it's quite inappropriate and will probably get me a one week ban I won't. Anyway, welcome and see you on the battlefield -Taxi Thomas
  2. I've met many people on the TS server who seem to play CS:GO. I'd like to suggest creating a permanent CS:GO TS Channel right below DCS. Like so: Also: if we could add a " [spacerX] " between the permanent channels and temporary channels under "Create Your Own Channel" that would just give a little indication of which ones are actually temporary channels created by members and which are permanent channels. -Taxi Thomas
  3. Welcome! Nope he's not playing on here anymore indeed
  4. For how long will this application be open? As I'd love to apply, yet I can't right now because my GPU has died and I'll be getting it back from the retailer in a while. -Taxi Thomas
  5. YES! It's basically always on! Here's the IP: 144.76.82.169 You probably have that already...
  6. Hi Mark! Welcome to Ahoyworld! Yes, Arma is an amazing game indeed. It takes some time to understand all of it though! Make sure to ask many questions, don't hesitate to ask usually you'll get the answer you're looking for. Here's a list of all of the rules: Just go ahead and read through them so you know what not to do. EU #3 is IMO the best server we have. It requires some mods however. If you want to check it out here's some useful links: And the trailer: Make sure to go through those if you're looking for something more advanced and enticing. And I'll see you on the battlefield -Taxi Thomas
  7. I played the Beta and enjoyed it a lot. I'm personally not going to purchase it. Why? Because I know I won't be playing it enough to justify buying. It is an amazing game though! Yes, there's bugs and glitches everywhere. Which will probably be taken out sometime later.
  8. Hi and welcome! EU #3 is public indeed. So join whenever you want, all you need is the right mods. Which if you haven't already you can all get through here: Have a nice stay at Ahoyworld and I'll see you on the battlefield! -Taxi Thomas
  9. Honestly, all you should've tried to do is just talk it out, using some proper manners. Which by all means, looking at the way you've talked, you do not seem to have. What it looks like to me is that you just want to get attention whether it'd be negative or positive. Just like @PiranhA said. Ahoyworld is an amazing community, it really is. It is extremely friendly and overall a group of amazing people. Yes, of course, you'll always have moments of frustration within any sort of community and you will always meet people you don't like. But if something is bothering you, or someone is, try and sort it out. The way you targeted admins as well as what you've posted in this topic is all just very immature. Also, those videos you posted say absolutely nothing regarding you being banned or whatever else. So get your happy ass back to the drawing board with whatever you had planned to do here as I presume you really don't have any video proof as to why you should have been banned or how admins have "abused" you. Overall, from what I've read right here, you are a very immature kid (even if you aren't actually one you still act like it) who doesn't haven any proper understanding of how you should interact within a community like Ahoyworld's. If even any understanding of how to interact with people on the internet. Very, very, pathetic. -Taxi Thomas
  10. Yup, I can totally relate! For me what I needed was a new cool story game to play through. That got me back into wanting to play games. I highly suggest Rise of the Tomb Raider absolutely loved that game! The gameplay feels smooth and is generally nice with some challenges here and there. The story is quite nice and interesting. The Graphics are AMAZING! if you can run it on some high settings of course :P. I just really liked it. My opinion of course I have to say though, it's nice to not play games for a bit sometimes. This is definitely a thing, I play more games and prefer playing them if the weather sucks. When the weather is nice I tend to play a lot less. You could also try downloading a game that you never saw yourself playing but which your friends do play. Make sure to play it together with them, that makes the experience a lot more fun and will also get you back into gaming. If you don't have friends to play games with there's always us at Ahoy. Just join a random custom created channel by someone on the TS and see what they are doing (Preferably someone you know on Ahoy, others might not really want you to join, but I for sure know many love it when people join). If they're playing a game which sounds good or alright to you go ahead and play it together with them. -Taxi Thomas
  11. Will do. I don't have much time the next few days so it'll be a bit until I can make and send it. -Taxi Thomas
  12. I know, I have taken many players aside after battle and talked to them. Some were very ignorant and others understood and either changed or still kept on going. I'm always trying to improve my own attitude towards other players and also try creating a better community for others. As for the rules: I would just like to see a clearer version of the squads thing, that's why I started this topic first of all. Right now it's all a little vague IMO. -Taxi Thomas
  13. Yeah, true. But I know some that stick to the rules but will try to stretch them if they can. They will also do things which they know they really shouldn't do but will still do them because they are not in the rules. I've just been annoyed by quite a few players and this was the biggest issue I had, others had it too. I know but it's not listed all that clearly anywhere. I've just been missing the team spirit a lot lately. That's also why I've decided to take a little break from EU #3. -Taxi Thomas
  14. The 40 players should've been 30, a little typo there. +The rule isn't "stated" anywhere but is however enforced by many. As for the 1vortex per 8 ground troops, that's what I meant. I edited it. Yes I know, it is all in the mentality of players. But as of right now there are too many players that care more about themselves than creating a fun experience for all. By these rules we can avoid needing to shout at each other because it's simply in the rules. I'd love to have it work that way. But we can't just add tons of moderators to the server as that won't work either. Even if we do add 5 - 6 moderators, which already is a lot, we won't always have one online. Which is by all means understandable as everyone also has other things to do in their life. And as for "Common sense" same thing I said to PiranhA. It would've been lovely if we didn't need any rules. Unfortunately, the world doesn't work this way. This is just a simple rule avoiding* players to just pick up any random role. -Taxi Thomas *=Rules can and will always be broken, but most will probably stick to them or at least almost..
  15. I have personally had quite some issues as to when players are allowed to use certain squads. I Always thought: "Why is there no scheme showing the minimum required players before a certain squad is allowed to be used or something alike." Now why would we need this extra bit added to the EU #3 rules? Because there's always a lot of discussing going on, during the briefing, between command (The leading role at that moment sometimes just A1TL) and other players who want to take a support role. If we just add a list to the rules telling players when they are allowed to join a certain support squad command can just point to the rules instead of having an endless discussion on wether they are allowed to use this squad. For instance: /////////////// Command: Platoon command: REQUIRED at 30 players (already a rule but not known by all players) ASL: Always open, you need to have proper understanding of the game as you are leading the main teams A1 and A2 and sometimes more than just those if command isn't present. A1: fill primarily, don't take other support squad unless this is full. A2: fill secondary. Vortex: 1 vortex team per 8 ground troops. (minimum of 8) ////////////// Then just make a list for all of the squads with their own rules. We could even add descriptions to all squads and even roles explaining the grand scheme of what they will be doing in the field. This makes it easier for players to know what they are supposed to do. Otherwise some players sometimes will take roles not knowing what they are supposed to do and just run around like a headless chicken which has happened before. Or someone taking Vortex when there's just 4 players on and taking an A-10 to the AO and doing shit on their own, ignoring other players. -Taxi Thomas
  16. Taxi

    Include Gestures

This is already present on EU #3 in mod and we never ever use it unless we're waving to each other in base . As for EU #1 and EU #2, what Colsta said.
  17. I'd say it'd be nice to have a sniper squad as a new support role. (Talking about EU #3 as I only play on there :P) However, this would bring a couple of big issues with it. First, people would be going lone wolfe, or double eagle if they'd have a spotter with them. We've seen this happen with things like HAMMER and TORCH. That's why I, whenever I am in a command role, prohibit others from using HAMMER or TORCH unless we are with more than 30 players. Because if you are with less than 30 these roles usually ruin the game for the others. They'd just go into the town of the objective ignoring other players and finish the mission on their own. Second, I will asure you that the marksman, whilst supposed to, will not switch guns with the spotter unless the two players in this squad are actual friends (also play other games together and such). You can already see this happening in other squads, take HAMMER for instance, if you are the driver and want to be the gunner next objective you probably won't get it. Unless you are playing with your *friends* within the community then you might be switching roles within HAMMER each objective. Unfortunately, that's just how things work. Especially with the noobs of the community and the veterans. Veterans don't want to give their role to a noob and noobs usually don't want to give it to a veteran either because they finally got to play the role they hadn't had a chance to play before. Same thing goes for the lone wolfe thing. If there's many noobs on veterans don't want to teach them everything and get annoyed by the mistakes they make and therefore take a support role solely to not have to worry about the others, WHICH THEY STILL SHOULD! I'm not saying this is always the case, I've seen many people within the community that have been here for longer than a couple days help noobs out but this doesn't happen enough IMO. -Taxi Thomas
