Found this excellent UAV mod it comes in a backpack that you assembel al-la the darter, it's rechargeable after use it has 2x cameras, laser deg & pointer you control by setting a waypoint on the map, it'll fly to the way point at which point you can switch to the camera and take control, by increasing / decreasing the flight radius and altitude around the target area, then adjust the camera position to locate hard targets for designation for CAS, or use the on board laser pointer to show show ground troops where the last pesky enemy is dug in http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=24235
  5. 3 minutes 24 seconds to clear an AO on a full server with majority working in properly to clear it way too quick Definately should turn the AI skill up a notch or 3, Also maybe along the development lines of things we could have a cost of war script, that would limit the ammo pool per AO for blufor some how, i think i rember this being done on a life, conquest or wastland map somewhere you spawn with 4 or 5 mags for whatever loadout you have and there's a global counter set at whatever say 1000 mags, as players respawn the counter drops as they take 5 mags and also depletes as people rearm at base or ammo bearers, when all the ammo is spent you have to scavenge the dead & dying, if the pool still has left overs at the end of the AO it get added to the next AO's total along with a completion bonus of extra rounds. could so similar for vehicles & CAS

Hi all I'm trying to sort out an odd bug for a map I put together using Raz's pvp Mission I have the map layout set in editor and it loads correctly once in the game but the in game map & GPS shows object like minefields & spawns in the wrong place would anyone know how to fix it, it's doing my head in and looks really messy in game. i've tried deleting all the points that show up wrong on map and put down new ones but this just spams more down in wrong locations on the in game map. the .pbo is in the TS PVP channel if anyone wants to take a look been looking on BI forums & armaholic for similar problems but finding nothing cheers

Not just blu4, all the ai react the same if something shoots and injures them they or other ai close by will return fire, saw it happen a while back to the mi-48, it opened fire on one of our panthers in the ao there were ai in danger close that got killed and one on the Tigris turned and opened fire on it was funny to watch

Performance was good but I think we still had that fps fall off after time not a quick as usual though, Alive mod is more about the way Ai are handled and behave closer to an actual player would, rather then just stand and return fire, there are some performance boost with the caching that's done, there is still the dandruff build up that eventually bogs the fps, lots of theories on the BI forums about it, but like I said I reckon it's dandruff, dust, GSR, pollen, and spent bullet rounds travelling and spinning extremely slowly being processed constantly and maybe not cleaned up at all that may be causing this fps drops,

No not good for I&A pubbies would render helo transport pretty much useless, also the way the Ai is now you'd be picked off at range well before you hit the ground, maybe as a spawn option on a smaller pvp mission, hopefully BI add some form of transport plane, that would enable us to do air drops from which would be a lot better, doing it from the helo's before we rolled back versions was fun but hit and miss with damage rotors etc

Haven't seen any script kiddies in ages, battle eye usually gets them before they pounce If it happens again could someone try getting a shadow play recording of the previous 5 to 10 minutes, might help weed out the kiddie if no admins are on at the time it occours Also type #userlist in chat will show players in order they joined it helps as usually kiddies join just before they attack and will show in the last few players to be listed so helps sometime with process of elimination

Hey Saw this on Armaholic just had to try it out it's very early stage alpha build but is loads of fun for bilping around in a Loach / Littlebird through the city streets can't wait to see where it goes development wise most of the buildings can be entered and have up to 30 floors Some roof tops can be landed on some can't and some have invisible top floors might make for a good cbq building to building pvp map in the future http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=23869
  18. Doesn't matter, pcie 2.0 is still the standard for the moment, all cards step down / backwards compatible with pci express 2, there are only a handfull of high end mobo's enabled with pcie 3.0 so go for a decent (read as better) afforadable card, the 580's a bit weedy for today's games
  19. that's been in Arma since year dot from what I remember form years past, just though I'd point out the hazzard of the base AA if your returning also looks like Pilot spawn VAS truck doesn't work anymore too.
  20. yeah but most EU players get horrible ping to US1 & 2 so more lag then usual

Just a quick heads up re base defences, I've noticed this few times now, If you're a pilot and you have to destroy your chopper if it too damaged etc. or kill friendly vehicle / troops and you don't respawn if you fly back into base you'll be shot down by base defence as it'll take you as being enemy

And so it is Christmas, Now there's a wholelotta people on a jam packed EU1 what's the possibility of putting EU2 back up full time again for the next couple o' weeks so we're not having to hang around refreshing the server browser for 30+ minutes trying to get a game also can we get christmas jumper uniforms for everyone too

Task force radio is fairly nice easy to use too need one or 2 people to test it on eu3 if possible to see what the radio effect sound like dl from here, instructions on the site really straight forward. http://radio.task-force.ru/en/ Basicly your acre ptt keys stay the same, just put the @addon file into arma as normal copy the userconfig into the userconfig folder in arma install and cut and paste the teamseak client files into TS instal folder peasy easy. switching radio's is more straight forward then ACRE no finger twisting key combos, Cap's lock is short range, Ctrl & Caps is long range radios are applied at spawn in Squad leaders get Long & Short radios automaticly everyone else get SR, if they need a LR radio they are in the vas as a backpack

    First Impressions

    Some nice ideas, think some have been touched up before The squad rally point is a good one, leader can drop once per ao and members can spawn once only at it and maybe only while leader is alive or within the ao. The outpost thing would only be useful if the main ao was within 2 or 3 clicks of side I think, as it is now most sidemission can spawn opposite side of map so a spawn there after completion would be a bit pointless. Civies emu would like to see them add some life to the map but as you said the hit would probably be to much, but maybe possible with something like the zombie spawned, maybe Civies could only activate if players were 500m from a town and only if on the ground so airborne players don't trigger them while crossing the map If I get some spare time in next few weeks I might have a play about with the mission scripts (a bit rusty mind so will take a while) and see what's possible and pass onto core staff for approval
