I get where your coming from and feel you bro when it comes to those who hotmic, but having been set to PTT before now I can say it's a real pain. I think the best solution is simply to have a dedicated EU#3 moderator on station for as much as possible. It seems a laborious task to perform but it would be worth it.

(P.S. Ahoy admins, if you need a guy who has nothing better to do than this 24/7, I'm your man!)

I do like that idea, only those who have the mod can see it on oneself and others of whom have it. If the devs (or whoever) can see if that's possible then that could be an idea.

Fair enough. It's not so much the camo that I'm bothered about it's the overall design of the uniform itself. The British uniform is a very distinctive one, the current one's in ARMA all look the same with basic reskins. It's not simply the uniform that's in this pack, it's the helmets (of which there's nothing currently in the repo which comes close to the designs in the mod) and of course the berets.

In all honesty I'm failing to see how adding this mod would negatively effect the gameplay. If you guys would just add it for a month or something in a trial run and see how it goes that could be an idea. Being as it's only 300MB the download time could be counted on one hand!

I've been in only a handful myself. Sometimes the idea gets shot down by die-hard rule enforcers who feel obligated to keep order when an admin isn't around!

In the situation I was describing (4 people online), using a helicopter doesn't decrease the mission time. Having less people online increases the overall mission time, the helicopter may reduce it but it will still remain far longer than your bog standard session. Just the other night there was a handful of us on the map in which you play as the Russians, we used a chopper in the way described and the AO was never even completed. There just wasn't enough of us to win the battle. But returning to my point, we were dying so often that driving back to the AO just wasn't in our interests. Flying there made it quicker and was a lot more enjoyable.

100% agree with this. We have to remember that the opinions within this thread (and the whole forum to a degree) don't necessarily reflect the opinions of every player. Not everyone who plays the server is a member of this forum. I would argue if you held a poll (somehow) within the server and got everyone to vote, the majority would vote for the Arsenal to remain in it's current state.

Not exactly. If there's only say a 4 man alpha squad online and the AO is 10km+ from the base, then people are gonna fly a heli even when they're not Vortex. Yes it's rule breaking but it's also a matter of discretion and a bit of common sense. Again the same thing if there's no medics online, you need to carry some meds yourself. I'm sure you get where I'm coming from?

I'm advocating rule breaking where it's absolutely necessary. Going around firing in the base, team killing and general pissing about just because an admin isn't online is not what I'm trying to advocate here.

But with regards to the actual point I was making; it was with regards to what Amentes said. Sometimes an AO requires special tools (e.g. ladder, explosives, launcher etc) and the necessary roles for this may not be filled. Then the commander might ask for an Alpha (or Bravo) squad to carry one each. This is against the rules but given the circumstances it's applicable. But I was saying sometimes you get players who cry out that it's against the rules and that just kills the idea there and then.

Yeah the BDU in game in not accurate. This is real life BDU, if you check my screenshots in the OP you'll see the mod pack is actually accurate.

Fair enough. The equipment pack is really the one that I'm gunning for the most here. There's a serious lack of British Army uniforms in the Arsenal and, understandably, as a Brit I've always wanted to able to wear uniforms that represent my country. Yeah it does come with some useless shite but even if you blacklisted everything in that pack aside from the uniforms, vests and those bergens I'd be a very happy bunny! Oh, and the green commando beret, need that too!

If it was limited to a stock loadout that everyone spawned with and you couldn't change a thing then that would suck so bad.

But going somewhat along the lines of what Minipily was saying, if there was say some presaved loadouts to choose from e.g. Israeli Soldier, SEAL team soldier, SAS soldier and so forth, and the uniforms and loadouts we're accurate to IRL then I wouldn't mind giving that a trial.

Thing is, noobs will be noobs and you'll always get people taking stuff to battle that isn't designated for their role. I myself when I started out did the same, as I'm sure you all did, but through experience I've realized taking 20 morphines to battle isn't my role, nor is it required!

1.1. It's difficult to apply IRL loadouts to in-game. You think how often when going on a real life patrol does a soldier engage into a full scale battle. It rarely happens, but compared to ingame where it's a certainty, I believe extra ammo is a necessity. I often share mine with my squad mates if it comes to it.
    1.2. Agreed
1.3. I like the idea but the current ratio of medics to soldiers is inadequate. Having a queue of 10 soldiers in battle waiting for a shot of morphine would be a disaster. A good idea would be to add a medic to every squad and remove them from the SL's.
1.4. Don't really play MAT but yeah, sounds okay.
1.5. I rarely carry smoke, the effects of it seem negligible IMO. But nonetheless I do like your idea.

Not so hot on leaving the gear behind. As you say realism is everything to you, dropping your gun and doing your own thing would probably number your remaining days in the military. The US for example has strict punishments for those who do this kind of thing.

If people would rather miss a wave and play dressup then yeah, those people need some discipline. I'm talking with regards to the majority of normal players.

Appearance gives a better experience for some players, at the end of the day this server is about having some fun while keeping stuff as realistic as possible. If the realism is all that matters, then here's the best mod for you - http://www.army.mod.uk/join/

You clearly haven't read the OP well enough. I suggested adding the equipment to VA but blacklisting it for the in-server arsenal. Thus meaning it will have no effect on dressup.

At the end of the day people are always gonna play dressup. You could put 5 uniforms in the entire arsenal and people will still piss about getting dressed. A small price to pay in my eyes.

I'll be that guy again that saids no. Atleast to some mods.

Funny thing is, I've already added the weapon pack once, on request. Did not turn out well; the quality of the weapons is not up to standard of the weapons we already use. So after the pack was added people complained the pack was bad quality. Plus the only reason we added it was because of the L85 (for which we have the standard rifle in now), most other weapons are already in the modpack.

Unit pack has no purpose what so ever, apart from making it easier to place units (which are already placed). But to use it you need the other mods, which is not really practical because it adds a lot of duplicate weapons of lesser quality. Plus we use a custom loadout script with custom loadouts (that have required ACE items) anyway so we may as well do it manually.

The only one that may be interesting is the equipment pack. It has some useless equipment, like the Soflam, glasses and NVG. And some useful equipment like the HMG, GMG and mortar packs that you put in the launchers slot, so you can bring an HMG and a backpack at the same time.

We certainly do have enough weapons and uniforms, but unfortunately next to none of them are British used! Even if the uniforms pack was just added, that'd make a lot of lot of happy chaps! I mean c'mon, who doesn't wanna be Royal Marines Commando!!

I get where you're coming from though, it's just more stuff for people to piss about with on spawn. Thus my recommendation would be to add them to the repo but hide them from the in-game arsenal, forcing people to spend some time in the VA and save some loadouts.
