  1. Could we get the opscore FAST maritime for the current faction? It (and/or high cut versions of the ECH, almost identical anyway)obviously not been adopted for every single USMC unit, but a whole bunch have been issued out to set marine units, and a lot of testing has been taking place where Maritime/super high cut helmets for marines are relatively commonplace.

also perhaps the plateframe as a stand-in for the USMC Scalable plate carrier gen 3, for us that like the dressup (spc gen3 visible on first and third pic)

  2. Idea for the infantry in buildings: Increase the change of multiple AI being in the same building. More buildings should have 2 or more infantry inside. It wouldn't drastically increase AO difficulty regardless of playercount because garrisoned AI is easier to take on because of how easy it is to limit your own exposure to it. Clearing houses can be a bit tedious so it would increase enjoyment if the house that ends up having dudes inside then has more than 1.

Also a spesific idea: Have some buildings, preferably larger and complex, to have a change to spawn many enemies inside. IRL you wouldn't want a squad randomly dispersed into a village with one dude per house, but holding a single point, be that a command post or a house with tactical value. Bigger houses with 5-10 enemies inside, depending on the house size would be a cool room clearing experience and something where you can actually go in with a frag first to every room and not always find out it's empty. Maybe give these houses an increased change to spawn intel, to simulate command posts and such.

Some points I would like to comment on.

I have logged into server just as Origins called everyone together and announced the "run down the airstrip for f*** around" command.

No idea what happened, I considered opting out for 1-2 seconds, but also understood this was a disciplinary thing and so made the run with others without any comments.

You mention that running isn't real punishment in game. I would submit, that the sole act of running isn't realy the point even in real life. The point is to make the person(s) responsible to feel guilty about dragging their comrades down with them. That's why units are often disciplined "as a whole" - because there is no "I" in the army.

Sure, we are neither an army nor a milsim, but my logic is:

Make EU3 play like a discussion society, and see how that will waste MUCH MORE of everyone's time, than one run down the airstrip.

And the more people are logged on, the more amplified this is.

well if you can make people run back and forth in the airfield, can you not get them to leave base?

     i see an inconsistancy here.

  4. Hazing is illegal in most militaries and i think it should be illegal here aswell. this clearly fills the definition of that. that being said i dont think it is a huge deal, and i think it can be done as long as all people agree and it is for example rp reasons. but enforcing the chain of command by hazing is not the way to go.

  5. while i agree that scope switching for versitality is unneeded, and thats why we have multiple roles instead of bunch of guys with an sbr sniper rifle that shoots full auto .338 with red dot and 6-25x switchable magnifier, for attachments such as suppressors this would be useful since suppressors are taken on and off quite usually irl and in game. And anyways for the dummies that do actually carry multiple sights or optics this would be a good penalty.

I'm not planning on getting it. The other concern would be that if Apex were integrated into the server, from what I've seen, non-Apex players won't even be able to see Apex assets, so it's not even a case of 'there are shiny things, but YOU can't use them'.

you will be able to see them. just like marksman dlc stuff or helicopters from helicopter dlc. and from what i know you can even use them, you'll just have an annoying overlay after sometime.

This is nothing compared to Battlefield 3, 4 and probably 1. (alienation to the max).

Why do you doubt even less then 50% will purchase apex? At the moment i have 18 steam friends that have purchased apex.

34 friends that purchased the previous DLC bundle. I think you are under estimating the potential popularity of the Tanoa.

Even if only 50% here would get it, on public side of things. There will be ton of other people playing apex content.

This is why i pointed out that moderator team can figure out the numbers and make decisions to bring out Tanoa available.

Id personally find it silly to just completely ignore Tanoa. All it would do is make everyone go play on other communities servers.

im just simply worried that just ingoring tanoa would be the only option if purchase numbers are low.

It all comes down to the moderator team and so forth.

Potentially one server could be converted to Tanoa. If general population is low on EU3 as you put it, then what is the harm in Tanoa?

If anything new change in the enviroment can invigorate the server population. Perhaps setup a poll to inquiry how many community

members purchased the Apex DLC or planning to. So can see if modded server is even valid choice for such conversion.

As for public servers, well. If there is still two running then one of them could be converted to vanilla apex.

Running a public vanilla apex server isn't a problem in terms of population either.

Weekly or longer map changes could also be implemented.

(Simply playing Tanoa on gamenights can be frustrating cause you might not even be able to attend)

well what it really comes down to is the amount of players who purchased apex. thanks to the system of handling dlc that bis has, we can use apex assets such as weapons and vechiles but it is obious that not 100% of the people will purchase apex. i'll be suprised if even 50% will.

I have no doubt the Apex will be reviving old time players (such as myself) back in to the world of ArmA. Whole new map to explore in jungle / archipelago environment, along with improvements to make naval assaults a valid option. Boost in returning veterans could potentially improve overall experience for everyone.

How will this work out? I've been wondering about that since the first information about apex. Sure we cant run a dlc map on a public server, let alone eu3 where populations are already low in general. That would just cut the population into unplayably low numbers. If anyone ever even bothers to make gautlet or valiant tanoa a thing for those reasons.

  10. If we are strictly talking about how to make eu3 more enjoyable i shall present my own subjective opinion.

gauntlet in itself is kinda annoying. the missions feel like sidemissions on i&a. witch i guess would fit more to special forces type of gameplay but right now i would say that the faction that we play as is more like normal infantry. the  missions feel odd and very non-immersive witch is something that all people care atleast on some level. they are not binded together and anyone with half a brain will realize that there is not a single military in this world that would operate this way. go into an area without worry about the surroudings (you can just drive away from occasional ambient ei) and then move away and never come back into that area again.  a way  to improve the immersion and to make ao's fit the teamplay stuff that we do in this server would be to make missions(whatever they then would be, thb just normal I&A would be better)string together and spawn nearby eachother. also it doesnt really make sense to have huge bases from where we operate on maps like altis or chernarus. bases should be smaller and more ''Fob like''. also something i noticed that the playerbase is not skilled enough or they dont communicate well enought for ace advanced medical. whenever someone gets hit, the movement slows down and most people do not know or bother to take the time to literally study how the ace advanced medical works. imo it is not necessary to have immersive experience, and it doesnt fit for this public playerbase for communication and individual knowledge of the system is not very great except on some individuals. i guess some of this could've gone on the gauntlet feedback but oh well..

  11. i would advise you check the current modsets, as we already have SMA, and have no interest in RH, as we use RHS weapons.

no, sma3 is a different mod  only consisting of some sights and optics. check the link. and i just wanted to specifly RH accessory mod is robert hammer, not red hammer studios, the eu3 currently has RH sidearms.

  12. i realize that this post is couple weeks older but it would be nice to revive it.  i took a look, and the idea sounds amazing!! breaching buildings with charges? yespls. if this mod ever gets done i throughfully wish that it will be implemented. as for my own mod suggestion i'd like to see RH accessories and/or SMA3 R2.

i think many of us already know RH accessories and the pretty models but the sma3 elcan specterDR are absolutely beautiful and stunning, with perfect models and textures.

here is links to both mods.

  13. so i just recently started playing on eu3 and with some people messing around a bit, wearing goofy uniforms and others strictly following a radioprotocol and sticking to the marpat wood(me included). I want to ask a question. how far into milsim stuff would most of you want to take it? me personally, i love squad and fireteamleading but i dont like extensive goofiness. jokes here and  there are always nice but i'd like to get peoples opinion on this. do you like to do formations, do you mind if FTL assings a sector for you and do you mind following radioprotocols and moving in a convoy properly? would you mind if your ftl would like you to stick to a certain uniform so everyone doesnt look like just whatever. i like to know this stuff because i know from experience that some people get mad when i tell them to cover our 6 and he cant look at the exiting stuff. people dont want to be with too strict ftl's or sql's for that matter.

  14. hi, as you can see my name is lammin or lamminrevityin, i wanted to introduce myself in the forums, i recently got into eu3 and i think you will be  seeing me there a lot as i quite like the way the server is run. i will hopefully get to the point where i can fireteam lead and if you like formations and that kinda stuff, im the guy for you!
