  1. Its 14.99 on steam still which is still not all that bad if you want a boxed copy then Amazon, ebay will probs be the best. Preowned copies may also be available in places like game and that.
  2. That is exactly the way to do it, learn by doing if you want to start small try getting double doors to open at the same time, with red stone I found that hard at first. I dont really have to think about it that much now. So go and just give stuff ago!
  3. You don't need HL2 unless you on Mac. You only requires the SDK installed which is free on steam. Video telling you how is .Its pretty easy, open steam, go to your library, where the drop down is saying all games, click it, click tools in the drop down menu, install Source SDK 2007. Unfortunately 2006 will not work with the Stanley parable
  4. Since I started working in 2009 I have had money enough to buy most of the games I wanted. In that time I have come across cheap games from CEX, weird quirky games on steam and have found all sorts of site to buy them. I am sure this is the case for a lot of you guys and maybe you have played something myself or someone else would really like. I just wanted to tell you about a few games I have found really interesting. The Stanley Parable "The Stanley Parable" is a free source SDK/ half life 2 mod, which has no end, its impossible to win and its unlike anything I have played ever. Cant tell you much more than that. But try it, you will find it interesting and you will have a few hours of fun. For maximum enjoyment just try it and believe me its worth a look. You can get the "The Stanley Parable" here. I would use the Desura Download link (Desura is like an Indie version of steam.) Singularity A group of American soldiers en-route to investigate an abandoned mysterious of Katorga-12 formally a Soviet research site. As they get close to the island there is an electromagnetic pulse which disables their helicopter. leaving only you and one of your comrades alive. The protagonist Captain Renko finds him self on the island alone and makes his way up to a large building long abandoned, their are old propaganda films and posters. What happens next is our game, a first person shooter with an interesting but not unheard mechanic using the appropriately named TMD or Time Manipulation Device you must "Manipulate" time to uncover the mysteries of Katorga-12 and put right the past to save the present. In this game you will go back in time and fight Soviet soldiers the solider trying to keep Katorga-12 shrouded in secrecy and Mutants, caught somewhere between time, to do this Singularity has given you an advanced array of weaponry some of which are out of this world. A lot of fun and interesting and I don't think I could do it much justice, Below is a trailer and a link to the places you can buy the game now... if your board and want something that's going to eat a weekend, this is not a bad time. The Story is engaging and interesting and the environment just grabs you and really pulls you in. It strongly gave me a similar feel to Bioshock, audio recordings and propaganda movies as well as flash backs really make you feel connected to the world. You get to make decisions which will lead to unique gameplay/ story changes, what was different in this game was there was no Bad or Good choice just grey and the out come could be both good and bad. Eeek it is such a fun game! http://store.steampowered.com/app/42670 Factorio This is an indie game currently being developed, to get access all you need to do is to donate at least 10 Euros to get full access to the Alpha and all future updates! You can do this over on indiegogo. What do you do in Factorio? What else, build factories. The first question I asked was "Why?" Well, your on an alien planet and you need to survive and then take that to the extreme, where you have a factory making all the stuff you could ever need. Then I asked... "Why?" Then the night came, then the indigenous horde of aliens came after me and I was glad I had built those turrets. There is the challenge of the game, not only building factories that are as efficient and automated as possible but also a factory that can hold up to the ever growing horde. It is very involved and the time I spent playing it flew by. Until finally they got me, the game didn't stop there and I could have reloaded, it just gave me a chance to look at the time!
  5. Aye read my news article about THQ Link: THQ What Happens Now
  6. Still Waiting for this game! It should be done some time in March hopefully
  7. Bringing you up to Speed In November 2012 Toy Head Quarters (THQ) filed for bankruptcy. Initially THQ wanted to sell the entire company, its 4 Studios and their respective intellectual properties (IPs). unfortunately for THQ they were unable to do this and so have had to sell off their individual IPs and Studios to different companies. Below I will talk about the "who got what" and what that means for the IPs. Relic Entertainment Since THQ buying Relic Entertainment in 2004, they have produced several excellent games for THQ Almost all of which I have played far longer than someone should most famous for the "Company of Heroes" and "Warhammer 40K" franchises Relic really is a legend when it comes to strategy games. Relic and their IPs have been sold to Sega. Sega also owns "Creative Assembly" makers of the "Total War Series", truly a 'great power' in the world of Strategy gaming. I feel that Sega will help relic continue its successes with previous Company of Heroes games as the released there newest game in the franchise "Company of Heroes 2", currently scheduled for March 2013 though due to the current state that things are in this may be delayed. Kaos and Homefront Kaos is best known for making "Homefront" a game in which you take on the role of a US resistance fighter against the North Korean Occupation of the USA. This game had a lot of THQ marketing muscle put behind it. The game at Launch got mixed reviews, in my opinion it is fun and is an interesting setting, however the campaign is a rather short and does leave you still wanting more. Sales of this game weren't as good as expected and this game has been partially blamed for the financial trouble THQ is facing. There is currently a squeal to the game "Homefront 2" being created by First Person Shooter veterans Crytek who brought us games like "Far Cry" and the "Crysis Series". Which will hopefully bring us some amazing graphics (if they use the CryEngine) and hopefully the experience from past games will make "Homefront 2" a far more rewarding experience than the first instalment. Saints Row, Metro Franchise and Voalition.inc "Koch Media group" publish games under the label "Deep Silver". From THQ they have acquired the "Saints Row" and it's studio "Volition Inc." and the "Metro Franchise". "Saints Row: The Third" was a great instalment to the franchise and with the 4th instalment just coming out of pre-development I am sure the fourth game isn't too many years away. "Metro: Last Light" is the up-coming sequel a gem of a game "Metro 2033", very simple on the surface, but with fantastic game play and mechanics you can remain extremely stealthy if you keep your noise and most importantly your self in the dark and the fan boy in me really just wants to say "buy this game is super, awesome, happy fun times go and buy it!" You will not be disappointed also worth noting metro 2033 has great graphics and is often used for benchmarking, I hope this trend continues into "Metro: Last Light". Thanks for the Read, I will try to make more of these sorts of News Reports as we go on. Which of the above games is your favourite? Is there any game you think I missed? or if you just want to give some much wanted feedback!? Please let me know below!

  10. In the 2 years or so that Minecraft has been around the things you can do in the came have been getting crazier and crazier. There is soon to be an update to red stone that will add even more functionality to this already extensive part of the game. Below is a video from the Voxel box a very special group of redstoners if this is what they do now what will they be able to do with even more tools! Watch the . Also remember the ? Thats now so yesterday in the MC community people can do this very easily and have even expanded on this concept and made even bigger CPUs. memory banks... more insanity! Discuss!
  11. There is nothing wrong we have had quite a lot of re-laughs since new guys started trawling out forums!
  12. Yeh but what if your computer is still hot after that? This video hardly goes far enough.
  13. What would you rather have Dont just give us the problem, give us the solution too!
  14. The Larger event are sponsored by intel, Nvida and/or Radeon. I have seen The aforementioned companies provide PCs for the event (even if that is mostly just to show off their own gear.) The event shown above looks like one of those also the fact its in a larger sized convention supports this. I think if we did a BYO Gear event and rented somewhere quite modest for the evening it couldn't be too expensive We would just need a large area with desks, We would probs need some network solutions to get everyone connected up. Just make sure that we never allow too many people to bring too many things like if 100 people turn up in an evening... FANTASTIC, if they all rock up with a PC that could be problematic.
  15. It does look rather swell mate would be nice to use pictures of our server where possible however.
  16. Awesome cant wait to see your fort, castle, mansion finished... btw which is it? Which ever it is! Awesome looking place!
  17. No... Just no... Unless you have Pizza and Alcohol... Anyone up for a party?

    GTA 5

Person A: "Do I need to buy GTA V?" Person B: "Are you a breathing human being?" Person A: What? Yes of course" Person B: "Well, just like you NEED to breath you will almost certainly NEED this game to continue living." In summary Birthday all not... YOU MUST HAVE THIS GAME!
  19. I agree entirely but on reflection is it worth potential turning the server from a Ram Whore to a RAM Guzzler? That's all I am worried about I would rather save the RAM to give us better functionality.
  20. Trees are Tress I would rather not use up any resources even if the outcome is kinda cool... lets stick to practicality.
