  1. The CCG servers are usually decent, i have played arma 2 epoch and overpoch and some arma 3 epoch on them, but i quit because i got randomly banned for verbal abuse. haven't really had the patience to file a ban appeal though.

    Will probably start playing epoch/exile when Exile realeses

  3. i was playing with some friends from potatosquad the other day on eu2 and the server was fairly empty (20 ish players) and i started of flying beacuse there was no pilot on and i know people trust my flying skills. so i flew for like an hour before getting bored and wanted to join my friends on the ground, all the pilot slots were full by the time so i thought that i am not forced to be a pilot anymore. but what i didn't know was that none of the other pilots could fly at all. they crashed basically all the helis so we tried taking ground vehicles but got shot out by the nephron so we couldn't get to the AO. so i was forced to go back piloting but now all the slots were full and it took another halv hour to get a slot.

     

    the only time i dont feel like i am forced to be a pilot is when there is a zues mission on because they attract the more skilled players

  4. 1) Partial solution would be - if it can be programmed in - to remove fuel-leakage from the game.

    Me and "insert name" (dont remember who) discussed a neat idea that would fix the fuel problem but it might be hard to implement, jerry cans!

    like on the wasteland servers where there are jerry cans you can carry around and refuel vehicles, then either the pilot can have 1 or 2 jerry cans in it's inventory (just enough to RTB) or the engineer can have one in it's backpack

     

    like i said, it's probably is going to be really hard to implement but it is a suggestion.

  5. Rather than adding more vehicles you could replace the (inferior) Mora and the (useless) Panther with another Marshall and/or Slammer, as they are more popular. Personally I'd really like to see at least two Marshalls spawning in base, as it's a vehicle I like to use but very often there's someone else using it.

     

    I agree with you that the panther is complete and utter shit, but just popping in another slammer and marshall would be boring to everyone because it would just be "oh two more OP vehicles standing on a hill 1km out sniping everything". The only infantry needed would be guys clearing the towns because the vehicles have cleared the AO in 2 mins

The problem with the enemy jets is that they will just focus on the helis and let less powerful vehicles past like hunters, and because arma is the way arma is and ai have unlimited ammo makes them just constantly base rape the spawn. i think that if you could somehow could remove the AA missiles on the nephrons  so that they actually attack ground targets rather than just being another AA jet (but that discussion dosen't belong here)

     

     



    I think the Slammer (Urban Purpose) should be removed for the heavier Slammer, which can either fight from long range, or as my friends and I do, stalk the outside of the AO looking for Armoured targets to remove before heading back to base. Because the Slammer doesn't have the Commander gun, that the Urban Purpose does have, it is much less effective at attacking infantry. This makes it more role specific and therefore might encourage the use of the smaller vehicles for that purpose.
     

    The slammer UP is actually heavier, smaller gun but more Armour :P

    but i like the idea, the slammer UP is way to versatile in the current AO setup. basically unstoppable with a good driver and gunner and is anti everything

    i like the idea of having a badge for known good pilots but i understand that it would be difficult to implement and that it might cause problems such as people dont really wanna fly with people that dont have the badge and that people don't really wanna take a pilot slot because they don't have a badge

    (on the other hand, im the kind of person that will actively avoid a pilot if i know he is a bad pilot)

  8. Is it even 3rd person lock on eu3? It wasn't the first time I played and i got really surprised. They have all these mods to make it more realistic but it's not locked to first person. Personally I would love to have eu2 and EU 3 to make it a bit more hardcore.

  9. Ye the names started out as a joke on a altis life server some time ago and we never changed back, i have kind of grown fond of the names :D

    And it's really hard to make up a new name which is catchy but still usable, but if it becomes to big of a problem then il just have to face the the fact that Anyone is probably the worst name i have ever come up with for a serious military simulator game. XD

  10. The portable VAS seems like a really interesting idea but it would be way to op just spawning in missiles right next to the AO. it would be nice if you could restrict it so that you can only pull out a set amount of each ammo type. 

  11. hmm it's basically the complete opposite for me when i play, i agree that the mora and gorgons are really common but i basically never see any helis spawning. have only seen like 2-3 helis as rewards the past few days. have they changes something or am i experiencing a random anomaly in which basically no helis spawn

     

    (I am first and foremost a pilot so i just feel unlucky that i basically nerver se a heli spawning :P)

  12. My personal experience is that i would never have found the Arma series if it wasn't for Dayz, it was the sole reason i bought arma 2. And arma in general would probably not be where it is today if it wasn't for the popularity that came from dayz. so you can complain as much as you want that you hate it but the harsh truth is that bohemia really needed the money they got from dayz. they might have gotten it a bit to late to fix the core problem of arma 3, that it is only 32bit.

     

    So i dont really understand the hate. Not everybody likes the "hardcore" military simulator that is arma, but it is a great platform to create other gamemodes/styles of gameplay to cater what other audiences wants.

  13. Never really gotten in to making arma 3 missions beacuse of the 2d editor, it was just daunting at first glance. The new 3d editor seem so much easier to use and actually learn. But i havent really gotten into the more advanced stuuf but seems to be good for me as a noob in the editor.
