  1. Hello chaps!

     

    I realize I have not been too active here lately, but I'll be returning more often from now on and play Arma 3. What can I say, been busy and GTAV was released, so what is nerd to do with so little time and so much awesomeness?

     

    I will try to participate in the next game night event :)

     

    Also, my building just got connected to a brand new spanking fiber connection, reducing the old coax to trash. About time. I've known about this for some time, and I've prepared my self a physical server that I will host stuff on, so If you need extremely fast hardware and a 100mbit connection to host game night on while I'm not about, give me a shout and I'l see what I can do about giving some of you that I know admin access to the operation system :)

     

    PS: don't be alarmed about the server name, I was not sure if I could call it an ahoy world server so I'm using my other crews name on it so that players know where to contact and admin. We are not a serious bunch, just 3 slightly mental guys that have no intention of stealing any players or anything like that, AW comes first :)

I have actually made this in my custom mission for Game Night, haven't tested it full scale but using the correct inits on the hostages will make them stay still until you trigger them to become part of your squad. After that you can just select them (with the Fx-keys) have them board a vechile, join them, take them back to base and unload them on a trigger that ends the mission successfully :)

    I did not realize you were that young, during tactics you were excellent and I would much like to have you in my squad again :)

     

    Oh, and I also follow english football, although I like wealthy russians I must admit that Swansea has got some class players :)

  4. You need to make it simple on casual server, some people care about points, some people care about realism, while others don't care about either. An easy way to promote this would be to deduct a certain percentage of your score if you press the respawn button. For those that care about realism this isn't even an issue as they will wait for a medic no matter what, and if they need to respawn they will understand why there is a penalty for doing so. For those who care about their score or points, this will obviously encourage them to wait for a medic, if there is no medics around they have to respawn and need to be more careful not to die if they want to keep their score. For those that don't care, well, they don't care.

     

    To ease the pain for those who care about points, you could add a timer, so that if no medic comes to your aid within 3 minutes, you can respawn without being penalized. However, you are not supposed to get killed, and unless you get killed by friendly fire or you did not make sure you were in a squad with a medic, its your own fault for being careless if this is something that happens so often that it deducts a larger portion of your points.

     

    The medevac should be made so that players need to be taken to a MASH. If its by car or helicopter doesn't matter, a helicopter is faster but a car can get to you more easily with less risk. On stratis the only place a MASH could be set up is in base, and its not very far if drivers cooperate with pilots. This is, in fact, a lot of fun, as I have played like this a few times as a medic with people who were willing to contribute to the realism and felt likewise. When the injured person is landed at the medevac, he needs to be dragged into a zone, where he would heal up. 

     

    All of this is only necessary if there is no first aid option for medics, or if there are no good medics on the server and you want to save a mate. With a more advanced injure script, this will however become a reality :)
