"Nothing too fancy but it gets the job done" - Huahuawei 2016

Motherboard: Asus M5 A97 R2.0

CPU: AMD Fx-6350 Six-core 3.9Ghz

RAM: 8Gb

GPU: Strix GTX 960 1Gb

Memory: 240Gb SSD, 1Tb Seagate HDD

PSU: Corsair 600W

Other gear

Keyboard: Logitech K520 wireless (don't ask why. I thought of getting a new one)

Mouse: Trust GXT 25 gaming mouse

Headset: Turtlebeach Earforce P11

Asus PCE-AC66 PCI Express wireless adapter

Yeah that's that. Like I said nothing too fancy. No pictures neither there's really nothing to see since my case is just black.

Also I was wandering if I could maybe overclock my CPU even though it doesn't really have the best cooling in the world. I switched the stock cooling of course straight away but I'm not sure about overclocking it.

Our setup should last us 2-3 more years. We can maybe keep on upgrading GPUs.

- Case: Thermaltake Versa H35

- PSU: Corsair CX600 V2 ~ 600 watt - 80+ Bronze rating

- Motherboard: ASUS Z170 Pro Gaming

- CPU: Intel i5 6600K @ 3.5 GHz (Previously OCed to 4.1 GHz)

- CPU Cooler: Corsair H60

- GPU: MSI GTX 980ti 6GB (forget which specific model)

- Ram: 16 GB (4GB x 4 sticks) DDR4-2400 Corsair Vengeance LPX

- SSD: 128 GB SanDisk Z400S

- HDD: 1 TB Western Digital Caviar Blue

Had it for almost a year now, and my only real regrets are not going with a beefier CPU cooler, like a H100i from Corsair, and getting at least a 256 GB SSD. Total of 4 fans (including the H60 cpu cooler's) - 2 front, 1 rear, CPU cooler mounted on top. Other than that I just run video through my 45" Toshiba 1080p TV, and stereo is through a 1500 watt Sony sound system (primarily), but for MP gaming/TS I use a Hyper X Cloud II USB gaming headset.

I've already gotten enough flak from internet tech friends for using an HD TV as my monitor, but in all honestly it works just fine for me. With my system able to keep everything I play (except Arma 3) at 60 FPS, I don't really have many issues with it, so I'm of not about to throw cash down for a similarly sized IPS LCD monitor..

Just finished putting together a big upgrade to mine although I carried a lot of parts across. I went to scan with a motherboard bundle, it was only marginally more expensive than getting the parts individually and they do all the gritty stuff such as the overclock and the putting the cooler on the processor (I hate doing that).

Mobo: Asus Maximus VIII Formula

CPU: i7 6700k OC @ 4.6GHz

CPU Cooling: H100i V2

Graphics card: Zotac GTX 1080

RAM: 16gb Corsair Vengeance LPX Black 3000mhz

SSD: M.2 NVMe Samsung 950 Pro

That's just the headlines, but I also went gung ho for RGB lighting and a perspex side to the case (audio synced lighting is awesome). I modified the H100i that came with two 120mm Noctuas pushing from underneath and moving the two 120mm corsair fans from bottom to top providing a proper flow through the radiator. I reinstalled windows on the m.2 and a select few games, they now load insanely fast!

It was packed well!

Starting to take the old stuff out and also dealing with my "who gives a fuck" cable management style when I put this one together.

20160813_072856.jpg

Well it's too late to go back now..

Motherboard is in!

Everything connected!

Finished product!

Before I go into details, I want everyone to feel pity for me because I have an Alienware setup.

Now then, the specs:

Model: Alienware Andromeda R5

Processor: Intel i5-3330 @ 3GHz

RAM: 6 GB

Graphics Card: GeForce GT 640

Cooling: Fan

Video card dislodges: Sometimes

Emits foghorn-like error sound: Whenever I get close

Got this wonderful product for a steal price of $600. On the bright side though, I do have a dual-monitor setup (edit: each monitor is 23-inches in diameter). I definitely want to upgrade, but I'm so cheap I'll still be waiting a couple more months at the least. At the very minimum I'd like to have a computer that could run SpaceEngine and record without a significant frame drop. As someone who makes short videos from what they record, it's frustrating to deal with clips that have framerate spikes and/or freeze.
