GPU - EVGA GTX 1080 FTW2

Motherboard - Gigabyte Z170-X Gaming 7

RAM - 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 - 2400Mhz

SSD - 250GB Samsung EVO

HDD - 1TB Western Digital Blue

Case - NZXT S340

Mouse - Razer Deathadder Chroma

Headphones - Sennheiser HD598s & Custom cable

Microphone - AntLion ModMic 3.0

Only recently upgraded my monitor from a 1080p one, but 1440p is staggering. Had it set up in a dual monitor fashion but wasn't too keen, so back to the single 1440p for now. Looking to pick up another SSD in the future and possibly upgrade my CPU, but I'm happy with 'er for now.

Looking for reviews and recommendations for a 27 inch hd, 1 ms response, LED monitor, either flat screen or curved, tilt adjustable or adaptable to a stand. Currently I am running a 22 inch Samsung which has been great but as it’s now about 5 years old it’s colours are beginning to fade. Manufacturers Short list so far
Asus and Samsung but I am open to suggestions for sub £300 units.

1080? 2k? 4k?

I'll assume 1080 as you are asking under £300; I've had BenQ's in the past (still have one as a second monitor ) and those can be great. PLenty offter tilt and rotate (mine is currently in portrait for recording/streaming setup)

Something like this spec ASUS VP278H 27 inch FHD 1920 x 1080 Gaming Monitor (1 ms, HDMI, D-Sub, Low Blue Light, Flicker Free, TUV Certified) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B016AWBO2E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_i_bLU3AbVD5VB0Q
By tilt i did not mean portrait to landscape but an adjustable stand.

Sorry bit of clarity I was saying the Benq ones have both adjust and rotate; you can also higher and lower the monitor unlike that Asus

This one looks decent and under £300 / good benchmark

I'd only really have a 1440p monitor if your GPU can handle it, otherwise have a good 1080p. So there is another question.

indeed this is true, though, you can get 1440p 120Hz monitor scale it down to 1080p and still have the option to run it at 1440p when you upgrade your pc :)

I have a geoforce GTX 1060 6gb. Think that can do 7680x4320@60Hz Maximum Digital Resolution

Maybe on the desktop and only with DisplayPort 1.4 :):)

What's it with the 1 ms response time? You a professional CS:GO player?

I may or may not be currently using an Acer CB280HK which does in fact come with a 1 ms response time and I may or may not be playing on a rather high resolution, but from previous experiences I can confirm that 2 and 3 ms response times are actually still fine too :)

Unless you intend to play competitively that is :)

No I am not any way a pro gamer. In fact quite the opposite, I need all the help I can get! I am just lucky enough to have a fair amount of disposable cash to buy nice gear if I want it or think it’s justified.

In this case I highly recommend making a 1 ms response time no criteria as something as <7 ms will give you a lot more choice in monitors.

FPS and ping are exponentially more noticeable factors and they have got nothing to do with your monitor :)

Agreed you really don't need 1ms, unless you do this professionally. I aim for under 5 but no idea how much it helps with the games I play. Of course of you get 1ms because everything else about the monitor is what you want then fair play.
