Miksi
Have you experienced Massive framedrops to only 3 FPS and/or has your game crashed out of nowhere (also texture loss)? There is a fix and your FPS might improve by 20% Switching to profiling branch on Arma 3's Steam properties might fix memory issue that leads to the game crashing. Instructions: Spoiler - Right click on Arma 3 in your Steam Library, then Properties- Select the tab BETAS- Enter the code CautionSpecialProfilingAndTestingBranchArma3 then click CHECK CODE- Finally, still in this BETAS tab, use the dropdown list to select the branch profiling - Performance Profiling Build Profiling branch works with servers running stable branch. It's a temporary fix until the next patch Original post on the BI forums here Reidy
Ryko
Hey Miksi, Can you summarize? That's a long thread. Do we have to download a new version, will it work with AW servers, or is it a settings thing? - R
Auntystatic
I think its caused by a memory leak, as when mine did that I tabbed out to see a directx 11 out of memory error box pop up just before arma3 died.

Amentes
I've been plagued by those framedrops when Zeusing on #1 and #2. Will try this out and report back
Miksi
Well, sadly I've just had a DX11 OUT_OF_MEMORY crash wich implicates that profiling branch failed as stable did. There was however a slight FPS boost so, I wont switch back to stable any time soon.
Eagle-Eye
Also noticed a small FPS increase of about 10-15 FPS, but GPU load immediately rockets to 95-100%, just like it did on stable version. No crashes yet, but haven't tested long enough (15 - 20 minutes max so far) to see if it works over longer periods of time.
Ryko
Yeah, I just crashed with DX11 out of memory as well.
Max
just patched, gonna try see if i can play on eu1
Amentes
Right, so about 7 hours of Zeus time on #1, total of one massive several minutes long framedrop. So I'll call it an improvement.
Max
may have been the server doing better, but i had much better fps than usual
Eagle-Eye
After about 90 minutes of playing on EU2, I just had a CTD, crash report and all (which I've actually NEVER had before with ArmA 3). From the monitoring log, however, GPU seemed to be holding pretty steady this time. EDIT: Make that two. Needs further testing, but may have something to do with being a pilot or view distance? Worked fine while I was infantry (view distance 1600), but as pilot (view distance 3200), I CTD'ed within 15 minutes. Same error: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION, apparently in this file "Arma 3\dll\tbb4malloc_bi.dll"
Max
unlikely it would be due to piloting, but I'll try out a benchmark with various render distance settings, to see what happens.
Eagle-Eye
Flew around a bit more yesterday, with view distance set to 2000, which worked just fine, so appears to be a problem with whatever needs to be rendered at longer distances. Max
not sure if related, but I downloaded the repo update, and now can't connect to any of the servers - 'session lost' immediately
GhostDragon
Not likely because it is completely separate, are you connecting to the server directly from a3sync or from within the server browser?
Max
update, eu#2 isn't letting me connect because it hasn't been updated... not sure about eu#1. connecting from the server browser
GhostDragon
a session lost indicates the communication with the server was lost during connecting.
