VAS IS Gone and won't return (*everything is subject to change)

All the CTRG uniforms should be there, new Darter backpack as well, we will be double checking the classnames. Same should be with the AP rounds for Lynx, but Bacon might have removed them on purpose.

 

Rocket warnings are now connected to the Radio audio settings.

Alright, alright, let me just outline a few problems, a little bug report if you will as feedback from myself and a few others from testing out the new arsenal.

 

-AT specialists need to click on a titan rocket launcher, then immediately go to their backpack and add the missiles. Doing it in any other order won't allow you to add the missiles to your backpack. Titan AP rockets are also missing, but I'd be willing to bet that that was intentional...
-The new nightvision/thermal goggles allowed in arsenal can only be equipped via arsenal, but if you bring them via inventory for someone else they get taken out of your inventory when you try to equip them because "you're not allowed to use this item"

-Saved loadouts can't be loaded, even brand new ones you make with the new changes can't be loaded in if you leave the server. you're able to reload any loadouts you saved in your current session within the server however.
-Deathstar UAV operator spawns with Darter backpack, but CANNOT get another one Via arsenal

-Mine detectors spawn on engineer and EOD specialist classes but cannot get another one VIA arsenal. Explosive specialist spawns with 2 mine detectors.

-the CTRG stealth uniform that isn't a Tee or rolled up isn't in Arsenal (one that fully covers the arms). Honestly I don't know if there was one to begin with but I've heard multiple complaints about not being able to have a full body stealth uniform
 

additionally:

-every class can still grab a UAV terminal via arsenal.
 

If you're doing this for Luetin (which is just a rumor, but a possibility)...

-Consider limiting the new Bergen backpacks to the AT class, there's no bloody reason to have everyone wearing the big new backpack, it'll just let everyone bring a sh*t ton of mags to the AO, something Lt is trying to put a stop to...
-If this is for Luetin, don't give us thermal hiding gear. If you watch his streams, the only way he can quickly find the players when he shoots at them is with thermals, so you'd just be giving him something to complain about later

 

On a final note:
There needs to be a discussion about telling your playerbase about the changes you're dropping onto the servers. The issue has become an elephant in the room scenario, and it needs to be addressed. weeks ago there were some minor changes made to I and A regarding co pilots along with changes to EU 3's unit structure, and slowly more and more changes have been made right under everyones' noses. While everyone can appreciate edits being made to ensure improvement to the game (which we are all very thankful for <3), I humbly ask that there is a method in place for you to tell us (things said in a TS channel through its description, an announcement in the forums, an edit to the I and A changelog) because, from a member of the community representing many other members when I say this, it's starting to get a little annoying to join into one of the servers and find the carpet pulled out from under you...

Just my two cents, I hope the bug report helped you in some way ^_^

thermal sights and goggles are for wimps. It takes lot of the fun out the game and makes you just a dick trying to beat to kill everyone before anyone els. Thus in my opinion such equipment should not be implemented for use.

Ahoy

Some feedback:

- As repair specialist, I spawned with 2 x Toolkit

- CTRG uniforms only with rolled sleeves or T-shirt

- Unable to take ammo for PCML through arsenal. Backpack had space but it was not present in ammo selection even though PCML was equipped.

 

Enhanced NVGs are too much DeltaDevgruSealteamSix for me :)

Well I was trying to rewrite how the restrictions work to get better performance out of the mission as the restrictions is one of the biggest performance hogs in the mission. And if you think that we were going to allow the thermal nvgs and shit, think again. They were never going to be allowed. As for why there were so many restarts yesterday it was because I was trying to fix the arsenal but BIS wrote the arsenal in a very stupid way. Also VAS is gone but you shouldn't be needing VAS in a few days time if everything goes according to plan.

Just to point out also - a few people mentioned that the Nightstalker restriction seemed to have vanished as they were able to run with it on roles other than Squad Lead... Might want to have a look into that.

As for the thing with the thermals, I don't see much issue with them, other than people abusing them to locate enemies...
After some testing, trying to look through any optics with them active gives you an EXTREMELY narrow field of view... and through some of the RDS type optics completely block your vision.

It might be an idea to test it with maybe just 1 or 2 of the RECON team able to equip them to aid in locating and marking enemy positions on the map.

I agree with Liru on the bag thing too....
Limiting the bag size is a good thing for some roles... but there are some who NEED a decent amount of bag space.
I've been testing out a few different loadouts and have begun using just the Viper Light without vest (as this allows for a rebreather if needed for assault/recon teams) however I know that Luetin has mentioned the possibility of removing packs almost completely from some classes and only allowing vests... This will mean that any 'diver' or 'water approach' will no longer be able to carry ANY equipment with them.

Hope the input that is being provided in this thread is helping you to iron out the kinks, and that things take shape soon.

Just to note Edits & Mission Bug hunting will currently be thick and fast as we try to bed in I&A & any possible future missions with the new & old maps alike, so please bare with us in the transition to a new & improved user experience 

 

As of now VAS is gone (unlikely it'll be ever reinstated - the Arsenal is more user friendly) *everything is subject to change

 

Don't confuse I&A on EU1 & 2 with Leutins EU4 mission (although running similar I&A versions they are totally different beasts with a different set of criteria, any bug bears or gripes with that missions please discuss with LT and he can make or relay any major changes that need to come about to keep ya'll happy hill top campers :D)
