Teamspeak timeout

Hi guys I have some problems with teamspeak for like 2 weeks now. I have allot of timeouts on ts while I normally have a good stable connection. I tried the standard things like dns flush/restarting modem/router etc etc.

So I looked a bit further than my personal network, lets do a route tracing.

Trace from france to AW ts in when the connection is stable:

Tracing route to ts.ahoyworld.co.uk [144.76.82.169]

over a maximum of 30 hops:

  1    <1 ms     *       <1 ms  vss-1-6k.fr.eu [94.23.30.253]

  2     1 ms     1 ms     1 ms  rbx-g2-a9.fr.eu [91.121.131.30]

  3     8 ms     8 ms     *     fra-5-6k.fr.eu [91.121.131.129]

  4    11 ms    13 ms    11 ms  decix-gw.hetzner.de [80.81.192.164]

  5     9 ms     8 ms     9 ms  core1.hetzner.de [213.239.245.6]

  6    13 ms    13 ms    13 ms  core22.hetzner.de [213.239.245.178]

  7    13 ms    13 ms    13 ms  juniper4.rz19.hetzner.de [213.239.245.150]

  8    16 ms    19 ms    16 ms  hos-tr3.ex3k20.rz19.hetzner.de [213.239.243.198]

  9    14 ms    13 ms    13 ms  static.169.82.76.144.clients.your-server.de [144

.76.82.169]

Trace complete.

And when I timeout:

Tracing route to ts.ahoyworld.co.uk [144.76.82.169]

over a maximum of 30 hops:

  1    <1 ms     *       <1 ms  vss-1-6k.fr.eu [94.23.30.253]

  2     1 ms    <1 ms    <1 ms  rbx-g2-a9.fr.eu [91.121.131.30]

  3    27 ms     *        *     fra-5-6k.fr.eu [178.33.100.245]

  4     *        *        *     Request timed out.

  5     8 ms     8 ms     8 ms  core1.hetzner.de [213.239.245.6]

  6    16 ms    13 ms    15 ms  core22.hetzner.de [213.239.245.178]

  7    15 ms    13 ms    13 ms  juniper4.rz19.hetzner.de [213.239.245.150]

  8    21 ms    22 ms    18 ms  hos-tr3.ex3k20.rz19.hetzner.de [213.239.243.198]

  9    13 ms    15 ms    15 ms  static.169.82.76.144.clients.your-server.de [144

.76.82.169]

From my home when I time out:

tracert ts.ahoyworld.co.uk

Traceren van de route naar ts.ahoyworld.co.uk [144.76.82.169]
via maximaal 30 hops:

  1     2 ms     2 ms     2 ms  192.168.178.1
  2    30 ms    37 ms    39 ms  10.222.128.1

58.16]
  5    13 ms    13 ms    15 ms  amsix-gw.hetzner.de [80.249.209.55]
  6     *        *        *     Time-out bij opdracht.
  7    25 ms    24 ms    22 ms  core21.hetzner.de [213.239.245.217]
  8    24 ms    23 ms    25 ms  juniper3.rz19.hetzner.de [213.239.245.110]
  9    24 ms    32 ms    27 ms  hos-tr2.ex3k20.rz19.hetzner.de [213.239.243.166]

 10    24 ms    24 ms    23 ms  static.169.82.76.144.clients.your-server.de [144
.76.82.169]

De trace is voltooid.

This is when I do have connection:

It seems core1.hetzner.de does not like me and some others?

Anybody knows what the exact problem is or how to fix it?

Also if someone has the same problem pls open command and type ''tracert 144.76.82.169'' and post the result below.

That looks like there's a problem with the DECIX exchange, DECIX is a company that operates commercial internet exchanges, on the 2nd October 2014 they did announce they are beginning to upgrade their exchanges starting with Frankfurt.

I would guess that you're routed through the Frankfurt exchange to connect to the AW TeamSpeak, and that the loss of connection is due to the maintenance they're performing.

Furthermore, it's also interesting to note that from your home you are routing through AMSIX, which is the Amsterdam internet exchange, which coincidentally is also under maintenance. That would explain why only 50% of packets are getting to hetzner, a hosting company, which I'm guessing hosts AW's TeamSpeak.

Although I haven't suffered your exact problem in the UK it's a similar case, although we don't have big central exchanges, only little green boxes. Because, in my area, infrastructure is being upgraded to "superfast" broadband we lose internet around once a week for fifteen or so minutes. So the solution is simply to wait, and if it goes on for an unreasonable amount of time, then phone your ISP.

I hope that helps.

Regards,

Hench.
