Gfx card died, what to buy?

It seems like my graphics card died suddenly. Wich is normally kind of crap, but right now extra crappy as I probably won't be able to afford to replace it in a good while.

But in the case I would be able to manage to pry some money out of my strict budget, what should I buy?

* Money is an issue!!!

* I want to be able to run arma 3 at least.

* I have a monitor that runs at a resolution of 2560x1440, i want to keep doing that.

As I really can't afford any extra monitors right now, i guess nvidia is ok.

What's the rest of your system like?

Hard to give a decent recommendation if we don't know any more details.

Otherwise, head over to Logicalincrements.com, find a level that's similliar to your system and see what card they recommend? :)

Amentes: Well, I'm not looking for anything to optimize my system. I really need to optimize my wallet here. A level similar to the rest of the system is way too much here. I want the bare minimum to run ARMA.

Kenny: Well...that's like €200 on komplett? Did I mention price is an issue? I really, really mean it. :-(

I have an asus radeon hd6870 something (broken) on a machine with a core i5 2500k overclocked to 4.3 GHz and 16 GB memory

I can recommend www.novatech.co.uk very highly, I get all of my hardware from there and have not once had a problem.

In particular this card may be of interest to you: www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/nvidiageforcegraphicscards/nvidiagtx750series/n750-1gd5oc.html

Although that price seems reasonable to me, since you haven't shared your budget, there are also cards from the GT series available for £20/25 euros.

I haven't shared a budget because I have none. I need to know what the cheapest possible shit is that can run ARMA and then think about if I can afford even that. It's that bad.

Well, run ARMA and be able to output regular stuff in 2560 x 1440 digitally. My on board graphics can't even do full hd and uses a strange aspect ratio that don't even fill my screen. All application windows cover too much of the screen, I can't work like this. And the colors are bad as well, I guess that's from analog video signal.
