The catastrophic rout at Gliniska gave the Russians a dangerous momentum causing the escaped forces to be encircled inside of the ruined village of Nidek. With the airfield still mostly intact the Russians are now able to deploy fighter jets and helicopters at an increased frequency. Combined with little to no supplies, pressure from the enemy and an anticipated artillery and bombing barrage Eagle company 3^rd platoon has two options. Surrender or stage a break-out towards friendly held positions to the south or east.
