[EU6] Saturday's 1730UTC (MSO + EU#2) Gamenights Invitation!

Hello fellow AW ArmA players!

You may not have heard of us or know anything about the AWMSO, but our two groups are more alike than we think!

Myself,@kennychr and other MSO members have been thinking a lot recently about how we could attract some like-minded Arma players into the AW Multi-Session Operations. Although we have a decent turnout for most missions, we all know for a fact that it's the more the merrier when it comes to Arma, so we are cordially inviting anyone who is interested in gamenight-style missions along to join our usual MSO players for our primary weekend-campaign operations!

We know that most Arma players just like having a bit of fun in their free time and don't want to be tied to anything too serious or dedicated, so we've decided to try out a sort of "hybridisation" between our two AhoyWorld playerbases.

Anyone who is interested in these campaign-based gamenights would be more than welcome to tag along for the ride; either to simply get their fill of teamwork-oriented Arma, or to see how they like the MSO playstyle should they want to join into "the suck" more seriously.

You would be under no pressure to perform beyond any standards higher than your usual EU#2 operations, meaning that, as long as you are willing to stick to the AW rules and are happy to work as one big team, you'll fit right in.

The way it would essentially work is:
- You will join into non-permanent roles ("reserve role") that you will be under no pressure to use with our mission's player-progression/campaign saving system (ALiVE).

- You will either tag along with some of the MSO members in permanent roles ("regular role") or stay in an element of your own, should you have a leader and/or sufficient numbers.
- You will be treated no differently than you would in your usual EU#2 operations and used as efficiently as every other player on the server. We'll all be kicking ass together as one combined unit.

We may also have a test-server up before the operations start for people who want to make sure their mods are working correctly and/or to have a bit of a practise.

If this sounds like something you and your friends would be interested in, shout out int he replies to this post, along with any comments or questions you may have!

This will be the first attempt to join our two groups, so we will be more than happy to receive any suggestions either before, during or after our events!

For more information about what the AhoyWorld Multi-Session Operations actually are and how to download and install the mods, please refer to this post (you guys can skip Step 1 obviously and go straight to installing the mods):

I also took some quick screenshots from the mission which can be seen in this spoiler:

At some point over the weekend the question was asked about how I found the MSO and this thread is the smoking gun, @whoever it was that was asking that question.

Not yet willing to "commit" to a persistent slot as my current sense of "how available I am on Arma" is a bit messed up due to The Incident, but Roma's cool.

OPORDER for Saturday (25.04.2020) is up:

Lore:
We couldn't get picked up from Oreokastro because of possible AA-threats and therefore needed to stay the night at the castle. Everyone is tired from the hard figthing the day before and resting wasn't really possible due to ongoing gunfights in the region. Now it is 0615, everyone hopes to finally return to base. But all of a sudden plans get changed again and ARES-2 needs to move out to the village of Faros to link up with an intelligence officer by the callsign of "Hermes", who is supposed to have optained crucial intel that needs to be acted upon immediately...

Lore:
As the intelligence of our god of thieves "Hermes" indicated there was an extremely large enemy presence at the northern airfield...too large and too well equipped to just be a group of stragglers from the cell we destroyed in Oreokastro. Therefore our HQ thinks that we might be dealing with a seperate cell in central Altis and as our previous mission with "Hermes" went well we are to work with him again (whoever this guy is, it looks like they want as few people to know him as possible). Though this time we have the lazy job as he is doing a trade with an enemy defector in the town of Galati and we just have to sit in a formerly abandoned FOB (now called "FOB Argus Panoptes"...The all seeing giant) to prevent any surprises and possibly act upon that intel as QRF. Sounds simple if everything goes alright...but 2-1 also has a new Sarge with this @Minipily-guy because @Johnson got pretty messed up last time...

Lore:

Hearts and Minds. That seems to be the plan for tomorrow, as after relentless fighting in the western and northern part of Altis, we are now ordered to escort IDAP eastwards so they can set up a refugee camp. Sounded easy enough and like a small breather for our platoon at first...well, at least until the CO revealed that this won't be just some show of force escort but one that will actually be needed because, according to our threat intel, the whole area is classified as dangerous. And as if escorting them wasn't already hard enough, we also have to make sure these IDAP guys can get real comfy in their new home. Meaning we even have to secure the whole area around them. I guess I'll just clean my rifle, try to get some sleep and hope that I won't sit in the front vehicle...

Lore:

SE. The last major region of Altis we haven't been in and ARES-1 has its hands so full that they asked us to assist with patroling the area. And what a patrol this will be! Long as hell with everything from mountainous areas to the dense urban environments of Pyrgos. So basically a dream for every guerilla and a day as usual for the soldiers of ARES-2...

FRAG-O for saturday (30.05.2020) is up:

Lore:

The patrol went even worse than we thought. Sure we knew there had to be trouble out there when we got asked by ARES-1 to assist them but no one expected this! Not enough that the region wasn't secured one bit but the Loyalists even openly attacked ARES-1 HQ and devasted the platoon. One of their squads was lucky to be out on patrol and we managed to MEDEVAC a heavily wounded soldier but that is now all that is remaining of ARES-1. Therefore, ARES Company HQ deemed them combat ineffective and is treating them back at the airfield. For us that means that we have to continue our patrol south without them to back us up if the need arises but nevertheless our platoons morale is still high as we are close to ending this damned civil war.
