  1. Considering the many controversies Ahoyworld has gone through from 2016 to today, I doubt it'll recover to what it once was. I guess there isn't a niche for 'be your own master' PvE gamemode in a community that was torn apart inside out. There is a shell and ripoff in other servers, mainly the ones you're referring to.
  2. The Final Stand Situation The year is 1986, the cold war has reached its boiling point. A combination of heavy western sanctions and a collapsing economy has forced the Soviet leaders to recoup one last time. Instead of a proxy war, the warmongering east pushed its armored brigades straight through the western front, announcing another war in the european theater. NATO was quick on their feet, but although losing a lot of land to the south and in the north, they managed to pierce a hole straight through the center, using Germany as their access point. One country in particular was hit by the war. Czechoslovakia, being a neighbouring country to Germany, was the first to see a full scale invasion by both eastern pact and NATO forces. On the frontlines, crews from the 2nd Armoured Brigade saw first action as their M60s and M1A2s rolled straight into the heavily forrested and observed terrorities. After much relentless fighting on the frontlines, a squadron of tanks had been all but wiped as only a single crew had survived a 2 hour engagement. Battle damaged, alone and surrounded they await their faith. Aware of this, 5th Special Forces Group iniated a daring operation to evacuate the lonesome crew, sending no army but only a couple of dozens men with no armor. Let me tell you a story about something so unexplainable it seems silly, so predictable it seems boring and so unoriginal its almost refreshing. The story in question is about a group of engineers who has been called to investigate a claim so ridiculous that no one believes it. A story that starts slow, but ends on a cliffhanger.   6. Everyone else seems to drop the mask, so I'll do so too. I think you mean "we" and not "they", because you started playing over there as well. Because after 1,5+ years of talking about how inactive core staff is, I think it important to air it out. Xwatt opened a platform to do and I utilized it. Sure, the issue regarding the members has been resolved, but issues still linger. You don't like when I'm vague (for a reason) and unfinished, so let me be clear. If you read my comment from top to bottom, you'll notice this isn't about the players, but about core staff itself. Faces that are never here and for a lack of better words, only here to do their role and half can't even do that anymore. I think it's okay if you need to take a break in real life for a while, but it's been almost 2 years and we haven't seen Ryko or Chris. Ghost we've seen work out technical problems for I&A as well as setup AWE server when Midnight was away, but not an active face to be seen. I believe this is the point: I am surprised you can stir up Cakes that badly. For that I can only agree with him. We both know where he is.
  7. So after 7 or so months, I finally read the full message. Rather late than never, right? Language. Let's analyse the tip of the iceberg. People left for another community. They somehow brought each other with them, including those they didn't really talk to. When player numbers are dwindling and players are offered a chance for higher playercount operations with ranks and designated roles, they jump ship and most never looked back. In that dire time, it would've been nice to know that Core Staff gave a care about it. But instead we got this: I think the underlying issue is the core staff itself, and not the reaction to the situation... well mostly. You see, as Lindi said, we were never told anything, besides what we could find in Stating the transparent thoughts about the process and thoughts about the community who picked their side. I do find it curious as to how Core Staff can conduct an investigation into a matter like this, the way they did. I find it funny, that everyone that saw the document took the same side. I also find it strange those that tried to set things right got punished for it. I am by mostly a neutral man. I love a good drama and this is no exception. However seeing the very pillar of this community, Mr. Community Referee or whatever Lindi's role was as an Admin, choose his side as if he knew what was going on. Yet with the knowledge of the document being leaked, the core staff never opened the floor to invite some of the admins that werent in the report, like Lindi. Sure, policies are in place, but we've banned people for less. If actions were taken and people were banned, well... those people probably never would've returned for the next 2-3 years anyways. Sure, forcefully saying goodbye to long term members are sad, but at least it would've shown you had guts. Instead our current Core Staff team, consisting of Ryko, Ghostdragon, Midnight and Chris, is not what we define as pillars of the community. You see pillars can be seen, they can be seen as supporting the structure they are placed within. Keyword here being, SEEN, because where is everyone? Now is not the time for excuses, we know Ghost can deliver when Midnight is not there... mostly, but where is Chris and where is Ryko? It's okay if they're busy with real life, but why keep them up there if they don't have time for the community? If Xwatt can, why can't they. If the requirements are to process the qualities that each member require, then why isn't anyone with the same level of qualification, who is vastly more active core staff? Why make a third open letter, when Xwatt's second is a good forum to revive, because unlike Midnight's comment... This was foundation of the entire post from Xwatt, and that I cannot beat.

Situation After assisting the rebels decommissioning an airbase, we've essentially eliminated QRF from the north. Additionally we've managed to secure some intel regarding the officer that trapped us, who seemingly seems to carry what we're looking for. Intel says he'll be at his HQ, but according to the rebels, that could be in either one of three places. We're gonna go knock on some doors and see whos home. If we manage to get our hands on the device we're looking for, we're leaving the island while the heat is on us. Situation After being rescued from a prison transport, we managed to get a tip on a rebel raid on the PLA. A failed attempt forced our hand at an attempt of our own. Gathering intel in the command building regarding an operation in a massive cave. A cave that housed an operation to make domestic portable nukes. The same nukes that required the very tool we're after. A rebel cell heard about our actions and came to pick us up. Residing at Camp Oden, they gave us a tip from a captured PLA officer regarding an FOB that has intel on the nuke shipments. Maybe that information will find the General's Chamber. However we've been forced to make a choice. Locate the nuclear warheads or help the rebels with an ulterior plan. Can't do both. It seems our help benefitted the cause and the rebellion is in full blown effect now. However... on our last objective capturing/killing a PLA officer, we were lured into a trap. Russia has invaded Ukraine, USA are seizing Greece, Germany and Japan and China... China just invaded an Albanian independent island; Saint Kapaulio, marking their entry into Europe. In the week after the invasion, a rebel alliance has been starting to shape up with no central command. We've worked through back channels in order to get in contact with of the cells. Since the chinese are listening to every channel and monitoring everyone entering or leaving the island, we have to enter the island undercover to meet the rebels. Since we expect the device to be here, but don't know where, we need to scour the island for intelligence. Maybe the rebels can help us. While the rebels are civilians and could work as our allies, we cannot let them know of our true intentions. Remember we have to blend in. Gear up, get ready. Intel suggests the device may be enroute to Saint Kapaulio for a deal. At least we know where the package is heading. In the meantime we're stuck in the wrong country and without exfil options we must rely on militia connections... Let's hope none of them knows who we are. Command has gotten in contact with a militia officer that seems to have exfil options, but he wants something in return. Afraid of how open the line is, he refused to list it on the phone and requested a meeting. We are to go find and talk to him about getting out of the country. In the meantime, we're laying low. Each nation must thread carefully to avoid stepping on toes, which could result in all-out war. Knowing their stance, the majority of NATO countries has agreed to use their military power to defend their own and allied borders, however knowing the threat of what could come, the military intelligence agencies within has created a specialized task force, made of the very be-... made of soldiers to carry out missions with no liabilities. A special military grade decrypting tool has been let loose. Its function is to decrypt military cyber defenses, leaving it vulnarable to hacking and interference. One such tool cannot be left in the hands of our enemies. Intelligence points to a trade being made in Georgia between a known cyber group and a militia group.
