I like Tanoa but the main isue I found with it was the layout, it does not work well with I&A. Malden works better for I&A as it is land locked.
 
If no pilot is online, or only one, then you can be waiting ages to get transported to one of the island AOs; those AOs can be rather cramped as well, meaning landing on the island might be nigh on impossible.
 
Boats are too slow, and landings can be impossible due to enemy fire.
 
Tanks etc become useless in these situation, as do most vehicles. At least on Altis you can drive anywhere, even if it takes a while.
 
I love the look and feel of Tanoa (Georgetown is so fun to have as an AO), but it's just a pain when it is an island AO, and once one of thse pops up the servers often just became deserted (night seemed to have the same effect on server population as well).
 
Maybe we just need a new sort of mission for Tanoa? (he says saying that this is an easy thing to just do ?); I suggest a type of AWE with all those mods but without ACE ?

Here is a quick guide on how to create a backup for your arma profile and how to restore your profile from a backup.

1: Creating a backup
First you'll need to find the profile you want to back-up.  Typically your profile will be stored at one of the following 2 locations:
C:\Users\yourUser\Documents\Arma 3
C:\Users\yourUser\Documents\Arma 3 - Other Profiles\yourProfile
 
In those folders you'll find these files:
  
Yours will not have Stanhope in them but your profile name.  Those 3 files contain all your profile settings/preferences/...  Copy paste those files into a seperate folder, preferably not in a profile folder, for example:

root, stan & Stanhope are 3 profiles I use, backup contains backups from those profiles.  
 
2: Recovering your profile from a back-up:
Locate where you saved those 3 files on your disk and copy paste them into your profile folder, overwriting any and all files with the same name.  These folders can be located in:
C:\Users\yourUser\Documents\Arma 3 (default profile)
C:\Users\yourUser\Documents\Arma 3 - Other Profiles\yourProfile (custom profiles)
 
3: As a little bonus:
If you want to copy a profile you can create a new one in arma and copy paste those 3 files into your new profile folder.  Rename them so they have the same nickname and you copy pasted your profile.  (There are a few other ways of doing this but this is how I do it.)

Hi everyone,

Over the last year and a bit I've put a lot of my free time into Ahoyworld.  Right now the time has come for me to take a step back and leave the staff team, I'll be taking a break of an undetermined length. This because I've been spending just a bit too much of my free time as Ahoyworld staff.  I need to get my priorities, like my real life, straight again. There are no hard feelings between me and anyone from the staff team.  You'll still see me around on teamspeak and on the server but as just another player.  
 
I'd like to thank everyone for my time on the staff team, I truly enjoyed it.

Brief Summary: Yes! A game night on EU2! You read that correctly. I am proud to announce the introduction of the first official Ahoyworld Public game-night hosted on our EU2 server. 
 
So what exactly should you expect?
 
The game-night will consist of a variety of different types of Zeus ops all around the map of Altis - Each mission made intricately by the Spartans and public moderators of Ahoy. These are the types of missions you should expect to run into on the night;
Hostage rescue missions Attacking an enemy FOB Attacking a town fortified by CSAT And much more!             
Lastly we will finish with a defence mission - where you must hold off from an incoming CSAT attack.
