  1. I would try those TS Server settings recommended by TFAR developers: Both ACRE and TFAR are communicating with TS Servers on behalf of user - which is "not as humans". This could lead into server sometimes detecting it as spammbot attempts. Likely your IP address is then put to temporary blacklist that is recycled in certain intervals. Anyway, those changes are worth a shot if the TS is managed by Ahoyworld admins and not third party.
  2. Hi as you probly know me and at least 2 other guys run into the "spamm protection" bug in TS again today when using TFAR. It has happened to people before and usualy clears out when you are out of TS for extended period of time. But it needs to be fixed more properly Don Cambio and me googled it, all seems to point to TS "flood protection feature" as in: http://forum.teamspeak.com/threads/73725-Action-currently-not-possible-due-to-spam-protection aslo suggestion on TFAR page: To TeamSpeak servers admins To be on the safe side, reduce the level of flood protection: Right-click on the server> Edit Virtual Server> More> Anti Flood, set 30, 300, 3000 values (top to bottom).
  3. Some points I would like to comment on. I have logged into server just as Origins called everyone together and announced the "run down the airstrip for f*** around" command. No idea what happened, I considered opting out for 1-2 seconds, but also understood this was a disciplinary thing and so made the run with others without any comments. You mention that running isn't real punishment in game. I would submit, that the sole act of running isn't realy the point even in real life. The point is to make the person(s) responsible to feel guilty about dragging their comrades down with them. That's why units are often disciplined "as a whole" - because there is no "I" in the army. Sure, we are neither an army nor a milsim, but my logic is: Make EU3 play like a discussion society, and see how that will waste MUCH MORE of everyone's time, than one run down the airstrip. And the more people are logged on, the more amplified this is.
  4. Hi Cryo good effort on the base, but I would point out one thing: players spawning as infantry want to gear up fast and get on helli. At the moment, distance between infantry spawn & helli boarding area on EU1/2 is about 12m on EU1 and about 8m on EU2. On your map, I'm seeing +-40m from your screenshots. It may not seem lot, but every time someone gets killed and respawns, they will have to get to hellipads and this will be a detriment.
  5. ready to... ..repair some vehicles (signed up as engineer)
  6. I got wasted by BMP from behind too, when we were pushing from the forest to that last village. I would say our greatest weaknes were these armored vehicles - possibly because Apache was not utilised correctly. As I understood from debriefing, Zeus was suggesting that Apache should have kept greater distance and perhaps used missiles against these hard targets. But Helli pilots reported issues with visibility range which is why they come closer. Admitedly, we were also stuck in that first compoud for far too long, because command structure was unluckily decapitated.
  7. hmm, that could have gone.. better
  8. EU#3 repo i have Are we going to use ACRE? Because I have no experience with TFAR.
  9. Looks great. Are there going to be any addon requirements ? Do we need to use ACRE2 or TFAR ?

    OP-Alamo 8/17

Looks nice Wish you could start sooner then 22:00 BST. For us from middle Europe, this is 24:00. Kinda late..
  11. It was fun, we just need to be more snappy with the start of the events. This one started like 45 minutes after suggested time. Ppl who come late and start solving MOD problems.. well: tough luck
  12. Playing with enemy Buzzard was fun for exactly 1 person on server = the BLUfor Buzzard pilot. Rest of the server population was just enjoying respawns (sometimes it was pretty bad on low-pop EU2). I agree though, that enemy Orca/Kajman has became somehow docile at least on EU2, not sure why.
  13. TBH I dont find the fog so much problem for a pilots (yes i flew in it too). Its more annoying for the infantry - you are being shot by 100% invisible AI from the mist. Its even worse than heavy foliage - where AI at least take some foliage into account.
  14. So it was U blowing that offroad in my face. Bad BAD Liru!! Good fun overall, but the wheel-changing was rly draaaaag. Next time lets do convoys with with simple repair mode on.
  15. Thermal imaging against Zombies? I thought they are room temperature, just like Vamps. Unless they are fresh after "brain-snack" ofc I vote town sweep. Noone said sweep cannot turn into survival - look at the poor "elite" team in Resident Evil I (the movie). I better change my name to Alice..
  16. This thing about luring people to other communities honestly seems little paranoid. It's not like we are MMORPG hardcore raiding guild, freaking about losing key player(s) in middle of progress. Been there, done that + all the Dramas, Ragequits & Flamewars™. I'm almost crying with nostalgia (almost). PS: I would speak for giving Liru some leeway about his ban appeal post. He wrote it shortly after ban and was clearly angry (who wouldn't). Crucifying him over it is child's play, but also perhaps opportunity to be magnanimous.
  17. That is the part I do not understand. As I wrote, there was no "other" community being advertized at no point during the event as far as I can tell. It was from my perspective one-shot event from AW members for AW members. Also David - what makes you use the word "covertly"? This event was announced on this very forum, how is that "covert" ?
  18. OK Let me just sum up what I - as a casual player on AhoyWorld - experienced. Couple days ago I have seen Liru's post that he wanted to run an unofficial gamenight - an even that would last about 1 hour. I signed up thinking it's nice that AhoyWorld members come up with such activity. Yesterday I went to Ahoy TS and found the participating people in one TS room. It was stated that Shadow(if memory serves) will create ad-hoc server instance for this event - which seems reasonable, as not to interfere with usual activity on I&A. The server IP was eventually given in channel description. We logged, had one hour of fun and then went to do a debriefing - to have some discussion what went wrong etc.. About 1 minute into debriefing Liru disconnected from TS mid-sentence. Some people then noted, that he got banned from the server. Since this greatly surprised me I stayed a bit to hear the staff explanation. I did not caught it all, but seems that the problem was that non-AhoyWorld server address was given out on AhoyWorld TS. Let me say two thing: 1) Never during the planning or execution of the event did I have impression that Liru or anyone else is trying to create new/separate community to the AhoyWorld. In fact, I have chalked this event up as another proof that AhoyWorld is nice and active community. Apparently, some members of the staff seen this in very different way. I wonder why that is? Miscommunication? 2) Even thou Liru might have broken house rules, I would expect that staff would give him a warning that when running event outside AhoyWorld, he needs to use separate TeamSpeak as well. Booting him from TS mid-sentence when there is ~15 other people listening to conversation seems very ham-fisted and paints bad picture. I would appeal to staff, to take a moment and consider, if this could perhaps have been handled much, much better?
  19. To avoid confusion: What was exactly the reason for the ban? The fact that IP address of the server where this event was occuring was posted on TS - therefore creating what can be perceived as "advertising" for non-AhoyWorld server?
  20. So what is the server address/name ? and eventually - what TS are we using ?
  21. OK I will check my calendar and like to come if able. ps: I got impression that blufor will start controlling just one side - as you mentioned "they're camped across with little casualties and just exchanging fire with you", that led me to that "crossing withoud EOD support" issue. I just misunderstood the starting dispositions.
  22. Hi Liru, does this operation require some particular game version? I'm currently using the Tanoa test version (the one you can activate in Steam settings). Also just an observation: your comment about being more active then just camping one side of bridge suggest that Blufor should at some point cross the bridge to secure the other side. Planning this, I would include EOD element in Blufor assets. I would hate for someone to step on a mine, IED or even lose Marshall to it.
  23. Looking forward to APEX, but little worried that largely jungle-infested Tanoa will have the usual problem with AI seeing through foliage too well. Unless BI is going to adress this with DLC too.
  24. Would love to come, but 90% cannot make it on Saturday. If possible, Sundays might be better, since as the summer aproaches there is bigger chance of ppl being away on Saturdays, whereas on Sunday evenings most are at home.. just a thought.
