  1. I agree. I think it only rarely serves any purpose on EU #1-2. Emphasis on "rarely", feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, though.

    Nasties

Arma 2 has taught me to hate seeing that ugly thing. Many lives were lost to it.
  3. If you've ever wondered how to take out an Ural (Or any vehicle for that matter..) when your ammo gets scarce. And you happen to have ArmA Enhanced Movement installed.
  4. That may be slightly off-topic, but good god, that lady looks hideous. Ah, well, I believe Scar would start complaining that the "Clear vehicle inventory" script thingy is still missing, considering that getting all the garbage out of a Hunter before filling it to the brim with missles is so utterly tedious, but I doubt he has any reason to do so. Let's just wait for new additions to I&A 3. I think an upcoming update already was announced in some other thread, but I don't remember anything specific.. besides, I don't have much of an idea how to integrate scripts into missions, so I'd rather keep my mouth shut than to openly complain about it. ... Make it happen, please.
  5. It would probably be nicer to have all the supplies at one FOB instead of having all those supplies (ammo, repair truck.. etc.) scattered over all the FOB's, because most of the time, you simply end up going back to base if you need ammo. Makes having a FOB kinda redundant. For example: FOB Dirt Track spawns with 2x Marshall, 1x Kajman (?), 1x Huron, 1x Slammer and some Hunter HMG's, along with Quadbikes, iirc. That's nice and all, but it doesn't have any supplies for vehicle maintenance.. now imagine going all the way from Selakano over to the main base (Almost 20km, if not more.) only to reach the service pad in a Slammer. That's not so bad, if you have to do it only once.. but most of the time, if you're competent enough, you're going to keep the Slammer alive and well. Now, I get that there's ammo and repair trucks available, but try finding a player who does logistics on EU #1. Almost certainly not going to happen. Perhaps, you should also look into that. However, it's just my point of view. I suppose that adding service pads at the FOB's, like the vehicle services in I&A 2 would be a nice solution, that's probably easier on the server than placing down the assets themselves.

    Officer Teddy

At least he's not running people over when he just feels like talking to them.
  7. Kudos to Pvt. Smith for his magnificent piloting.
  8. That memory leak occured ever since they've released 1.60. Nothing new here. I'm fairly certain that there's no way you can fix it as of now.
  9. That moment when you realize that your comment is the top comment on that video.. but yes, I second that. It's very enlightening. Not your usual Top 10 clickbait crap.
  10. So the machinegunners are all from East Asia? Mind is blown. Receive Reputation. Edit: That thing with the AT gunner applies to me. While it's not entirely true, it's probably accurate.
  11. Oh, so there's a thread for stuff like that.. time to show what I have. 1. Landing a helicopter 101. 2. CSAT power lines restraining my Hummingbird. 3. Yeah, think what you will. (Our Blackfish crashed and that happend..) 4. Not having a spine. 5. And lastly.. (We were doing a side mission and couldn't find a proper vantage point. Thus, we decided to go on top of these towers.. and yeah.)
  12. Think I'll be adding my opinion here, too.. Base Design I'm honestly not a big fan of it. I know that it's supposed to look like we're invading the island, but having the runway for the UAV's on a dirt road with rocks in the way seems, uh.. not so good, I was thinking about placing them and an UAV service point on the AAC Airfield after completing a couple of AO's, or something. I'm not a mission maker, and I'm not really good at making suggestions, either. But that's what came to my mind. About that hilltop, yes, I have to agree. I saw a player getting a reward Gorgon up that hill and killing everything down in the base. The fact that teamkill messages were disabled also didn't help too much. Iirc, in the end someone had to sneak up on him to see his name.. yeah. And you might want to tweak a few things about the Prowler spawning script. Right now it seems like the player can just spawn infinite Prowler's, you see what I'm getting at -- Trolls. AO's I have no idea if the Radiotower sub-mission got replaced by the Ammo Cache sub-mission, but I think it's neat. That way, we don't have to carry charges around the map. Though, I may be biased because I only heard it from other players and didn't participate in doing such a mission just yet. Personally, I'm glad that proper enemy CAS is back; makes things more exciting. (And frustrating..) The artillery mission seems to be overused, indeed, and it also seems to irritate players. I don't know. I think it's just a minor nuisance, seeing how it's only the two tanks and nothing guarding them. Maybe give the player a reward for clearing them? Otherwise it gets rather bland and annoying. Either way, I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking that way. I'm kinda stretching things here, though.. on to the next point. New Side Missions I've only seen two of them yet: The one that involves diving and the other one where we have to protect the UN officers. While we had trouble completing the first diving mission, (It took us 30 minutes to find out what we were looking for..), it does seem like a welcome addition and it was requested multiple times. The UN officer mission.. ah, well, I prefer sitting on a hill and shooting at stuff, getting close and personal isn't my style. But I do think that it's a nice addition for those who want CQC. Advanced FOB's It's a neat addition. But it surely doesn't beat the FOB's and the missions from I&A 2. But I'm certain that it'll get better the more feedback you guys can gather. Overall Issues I didn't notice much of a change regarding the FPS, or at least nothing noteworthy. It got a bit better, mind you, but it's not exactly worth noting. For the sake of feedback, I'm doing it anyway. Some people appear to have gotten a bigger increase in FPS than others, so.. The new marker script doesn't seem too good as of now, you can only see player names and player vehicles when scrolling out and viewing the whole map, which is a bit difficult. And as Scar mentioned, it's not exactly accurate. I think the "Clear Inventory" script being gone is an oversight, but I think it's still worth mentioning. It's not exactly entertaining to drag three Bergen backpacks full of gear out of a Hunter before filling it up with missles and making your way to the AO only to lose it to some random player who takes it and having to do it all over again. The score system involving requesting artillery strikes etc. seems a bit flawed, since you can essentially just teamkill your entire team out of cold blood and get away with it.. might wanna look into that. Well, I've been rambling on for long enough. You did a great job with the mission; changes are always appreciated on my end. Keep working on it and listen to the feedback as a whole, adapt to the playerbase and I'm pretty sure it's going to turn out even better.
  13. Can't wait to see I&A 3 on Malden. This is bound to be great. What are your opinions on the matter? I'm hyped, goes without saying. Only thing that's making me uncomfortable is that I have to get my wallet ready. The fact that Malden is for free makes me happy, though. Link to the roadmap: https://arma3.com/news/arma-3-roadmap-2016-17#.WArABOCLRaQ And yeah, I'm probably a bit late with this. Still, there's probably people who haven't seen it yet.
  14. I have literally no idea who to side with in this thread, since everybody has fair points. But I must admit that I found it pretty hilarious that we had a 155mm Cluster round flying right into the spawn, killing about 10 people after one of the new spartans thought that it was a good idea to give them an artillery tank as a reward for doing his mission. Totally didn't see that one coming. Though, I think their "styles" of Zeusing should adjust to the playerbase eventually. Just give them some time. Best thing would be to pin the post with the "do's and don'ts". I was among those who died horribly that day.
  15. I see. It's not like I'm holding any grudges because of it. I just found it weird.
  16. When I played on EU #1 a few days ago, I saw a Zeus player spawning AT units in front of a tank that was rampaging a side mission. I'm not going into detail where it happend, or which player was in the tank/zeusing. I don't exactly care about that. But I wanted to ask if it's allowed to do those kind of things -- Spawning AI to stop somebody in front of somebody doing a mission, interfering the flow of the game, whatever. I don't remember anyone asking a Zeus to unnecessarily "spice up" a side mission. It just struck me as odd. So?
  17. Often: - ArmA 3, random games whenever my nostalgia gets to me.. Occasionally: - Skyrim, DayZ, Starbound Besides that, I don't really own too many games at the moment. I have Fallout 4, but I'm a bit unimpressed by it, so I won't play it much. Got 22 hours on it, but I don't like it. I'm just happy I got it cheap, otherwise I'd be mad. I also own "The Culling", but if they don't launch significant updates soon, the game is just going to die.
  18. *Internal screaming intensifies* Seriously, though. Did people really deem the WBV scope too good for the Sniper class? It's a tool used for sniping, after all.. I don't see the problem. It's a bit odd. If it's an oversight, then alright. I didn't say anything, ignore this post. If it wasn't, then I'm probably not going to touch a sniper slot again, at least not at night. I'm one of those people that think that hitting running targets in ArmA 3 is hard enough, and now that I finally manage to do it without wasting about three mags worth of ammo, the most viable scope is restricted to the Squad Leader again.. (Let's be honest, if you want an easy time spotting an target and getting the range, you can just use a Laser Designator. But why make things harder if they can be easy? The default nightvision scope is terrible in every aspect, to say the least, at least for a dedicated sniper. For a Marksman.. alright, I suppose. If it was an attempt at balancing I&A, then it's one that I don't fully understand.) And yeah, I get that I sound like a dumbass when I complain about minor things like these, but I'm just no "dank MLG" sniper like other people in this community, sorry. I just casually choose the slot whenever I feel like doing something else than blowing up tanks and flying other people over to the AO.. but this? Meh. And I might also add that I made this post not to offend anyone (I don't even see how I could, but you people know the internet these days. You say one wrong thing.. and everything collapses unto your virtual self.), but to ask why the restriction got re-introduced. This isn't supposed to be a discussion of any sort. Tl;dr: Why did the WBV scope get removed? Please don't shoot me. Have mercy.
  19. And meanwhile I'm just wondering how many times you crashed during the recording of the plane scenes.. that being said, it looks like it would be great fun to fly on that map.
  20. Would be the third time I'm doing this campaign. Still wishing you the best of luck, though. You'll need it. (AI shooting through foilage.. running away from enemies.. ambush spawning..)
  21. Sounds crazy. I like it.
  22. Welcome! Nice to see you on the forums.
