  1. You can report said player(s) after the event here: http://www.ahoyworld.co.uk/pr/ If there are no admins around then there isn't much you can do, try and avoid killing them if you can as that can sometimes lead to a ban for you. Take screenshots so that the admins have good evidence when it comes to a report, and just keep checking teamspeak, there aren't many times when there aren't any admins or moderators around!
  2. Whilst I agree that pilots do need to learn in this order, EU1 and EU2 aren't really servers that are designed for teaching pilots to fly, a pilot's main aim on the servers is to get the troops that they are carrying onto the ground safely and whilst some pilots are more than competent at avoiding AA in the hummingbird, others with less skill see the only way to avoid missiles as mashing the flare button like there's no tomorrow. I think that the script would reduce the amount of times the hummingbird goes down around an AO and therefore get more boots on the ground safely. I think its a good suggestion for the servers, though I'm unsure whether it will be implemented. I can see where you're coming from though, the hummingbird is an extra challenge to fly for pilots who are more confident and can be more exciting, would just be nice if the pilots who were less skilled would stick to the helicopters with countermeasures!
  3. I have to agree that there does need to be the addition of an NV scope for longer ranges that snipers and marksmen could use because I have also found this to be annoying. But what I find more annoying is when playing a close combat role at night, which can be some of the more exciting times as it makes enemies far harder to spot, you walk through the AO constantly waiting for enemies to engage only to find that snipers and marksmen have picked them all off from a hill about 1000m away because the enemies are lit up on their thermal scopes like a christmas tree. It may be fun for a small group but it can make the rest pretty bored, and this has been vastly improved since the thermals were restricted. I completely agree with this, this is exactly how marksmen and snipers should play, but people abuse the thermal scopes and use them to clear whole enemy squads before the rest of the infantry even get a shot. If we can find a way to disable thermals as others have suggested then fantastic, but for now I think that things should stay as they are, its by far the lesser of two evils for me.
  4. This is a pretty good overview to watch, and there are more in depth tutorials if you want to become a proficient mortar operator
  5. I think he means having the helicopter spawn with a pre set loadout with ammo and more useful items so that when pilots repair/rearm the helo it will refill with the items rather than the pilot having to keep refilling it

  7. I think one of the greatest advantages of drones is the tactical oversight that they offer. A drone can see things that the soldiers on the ground can't, access areas either too hard or too dangerous for soldiers to go to. When a commander has a drone over the scene of a firefight, they can make real time decisions and relay information to guys on the ground that gives them a much better perspective of the threats that they face, their direction, number etc... It is also far, far, more effective than having commanders trying to work out what is going on from radio reports from the ground which are often lacking detail and can often contradict each other and cause even more confusion. Let's look at a simple situation, a platoon engaged from the north by enemy forces, with hilly ground to their west. A second enemy unit is flanking the platoon on the other side of the hills and moving to a position to fire down on them. The commanders will have no idea that the platoon has been flanked until the first shots have been fired and radio reports start coming in that they are taking fire, and they still need to locate the source of the incoming fire and arrange some return fire. Who knows how many soldiers have died before they can start firing back. Now imagine the platoon is being overwatched by a drone. Being above the hills, it can see the enemy flanking to the west from the very start. The commanders can then move units around to prepare for the appearance of the flanking enemies and fire on them as soon as they are visible, removing the element of surprise and probably saving lives. As far as I am aware, drones were deployed over most larger scale assaults in Afghanistan by the British (e.g. the Jugroom Fort attack) allowing commanders to watch the attack and give orders as needed. Essentially, they are used whenever they are available because of the massive advantages that they offer! That's my little bit of knowledge, I haven't even looked at the use for taking out high value targets and the like because I'm not so sure about that I'm sure others can add more information and correct me where I have made mistakes!

  9. Even though this has already been suggested, it is still a good idea The side missions very rarely gather many players. Pilots don't often go to them, even to pick up players who have completed them and they are often failed by people who don't know that if they destroy that ifrit then the intel is destroyed as well. All of this adds to the repetitive nature of the side missions and means that most people just tend to ignore them. It might also help if the rewards were used more effectively, far too often we are rewarded with a Blackfoot or wipeout which could have a big effect, but watch a pilot that doesn't know how to use it fly our shiny new aircraft into the middle of an ao and get blotted out of the sky by a million AA missiles. I don't know what we can do about this but I think feeling that completing side missions has a genuine effect would encourage people to give them a go! Okay there's my opinion, go back to whatever you were doing
