  4. Just because i totally forgot and followed the help post exactly. A dmall reminder, You can use the shacktac hud mods on your client. Get them they will help no end with squad management which we found last night to be ermmmm fun...
  5. Does it have the same loadout loading bug from the main server (in that it wont load saved loadouts), thats really the only reason I still use VAS tbh. Ill give it a try tonight though for sure. oh another thing I wanted to ask, would it be possible to edit the mission to add something like this: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=22522 Its something I miss when I play missions like I&A, ill use my normal excuse of I dont mod Arma (im a software programmer by trade and ive modded everything else, no idea why Arma has escaped!) so not a clue how you define the units but if the unit can be defined and this script applied to them, from my reading they will hunt buildings down and garrison them. Do this for 2-3 fireteams per large AO and I feel the mission takes on a whole new level. I dont want that safe feeling when moving through town, only looking up roads and alleys, I want to systematically sweep a town checking every building, I want it to take time and I want be bricking it the whole time. When Zissou (I think, might have been Elcour) on EU1 took up Zeus and had guys on roofs, it turned a normal sidemission to destroy some crates with my 6-7 man squad into a "WHERE THE HELLS THAT FIRE COMING FROM!" FALLBACK!" "CLEAR THAT BUILDING!" "FIND HIGH GROUND!" "RETURN FIRE!" type dealio which was one of my fav moments on EU1 to date. I want MOAR! Itd be nice to have this but I dont think it needs someone on Zeus to achieve something passable. This is actually making me want to download the mission and start messing....but ill never play again if i do that...i know it edit - ok its begun....im staring at code...i see Shukos garrison script being referenced in the code but not used as far as I can tell, isnt that for Arma2, I dont think this script can work on 3 can it? I dont think building positions work the same. So could we replace this with the above....*continues fiddling*
  6. This is just a query, the pack that adds the silly amount of weapons with multiple variants that just make using vas painful, do we really need it? Dont get me wrong i like the variety but if these weapons were done without the need to have 10 versions of each weapon listed it would be so much nicer. Based on my experience getting setup on mission start takes like 10-15 mins and thats purely waiting for vas and then trying to use it, which again i dont mind but would love to cut it down/make it nicer to use. Are there any smaller packs of weapons that use an attachment system that doesnt require 10 of each weapon in lists? Thats really the only thing bugging me so far. Everything else is fun as hell.

  8. 2 littlebirds might be quite cool actually, i quite often get a squad of 6-10 and would be quite cool to mount in 2 birds and do some more tactical dual insertions, would mean that the other 2 helis are still able to carry 20+ troops still and once the birds have done their insertion it takes them no time to get back to ferrying guys about. Id support a test run of this to see if theres any major outcry from the community. Nice idea.

  11. Just gonna update this when im up for a proper session. I have the bug and should be on tonight. So if anyone would like a slightly less chaotic than normal experience find me on around 10pm uk time.

  13. Speaking of that. You guys got a christmas plan for the server? Snow textures on vics, santa hats etc...do like planetside did and add snowmen all over the map to find, oh and make ALL helis play mariah at all times....wont be annoying at all.

  15. ah makes some sense i suppose, just to add the teleporting back for the injured body happens before hes down on the ground hence the double death. Not major just something i spotted while afk'ing in base (a heli exploded outside and like 10 bodies appeared infront of me). Was just curious.

Sorry have a bit of a binge in bug reporting today (this is the only the second, so not really a binge lol) When being killed I end up with my vest duplicating into my backpack plus all my inv generally being screwed up, I know this is an old bug and my brain says its something thats been in the revive script forever but on the off chance it isnt (and i couldnt see a ticket).... Its particularly annoying for medics and AT who lose their medkits/rockets. Can anything be done about it?
  17. Hopefully a really quick one and im gonna guess this happens due to some need for spawn scripts or something but... Why is it when someone dies the bodies are animated dying twice at the death point and also once back at base. An example of what i observe is: a player is killed, his body hits the floor gear isnt dumped it then animates a second time, dropping to the floor again, gear is this time dumped at the same time back at the base a player can be seen dying at the spawn point. Now as i said im guessing this is needed for something it just struck me as odd and I dont remember it ever doing it before (a few months ago anyway)

    Ill admit the hour was once and it turned out to be quite a funny hour so yeah scratch that. Thinking more about the problem i think Josh has nailed the issue people just seem unwilling to go on TS and let someone know. To to this end i do solemnly swear that if i am online and pilots/anyone is being a pleb i will do my bit and let admins know.
  19. Raz just jump in the editor and test it youll see it instantly, no terrain def at all in jan. But....it seemed ok the other night when playing so im guessing you guys flipped the month back. As stated wasnt trying to cause bother just making people aware of what the user base is talking about...that isnt the stamina system

    As someone who never flies, this is something i think needs some kind of solution. Currently as stated above its rare we get more than 2 pilots who wont just smash into the ground on takeoff. It took me 5 attempts to get further than the end of the runway the other day. As someone who plays squad lead and tries to get a squad together everytime i play i usually comandeer a pilot as my personal squad transport, much to everyone who doesnt want to squad ups annoyance, the pilot usually prefers working with squads who know what they are doing so end up hanging around for them. I dont agree that reserved slots are the answer but i can say removing the sometimes half hour/hour (not exagerating) long waits to get into the fight would be a huge incentive for me to keep playing here (dont know about anyone else). My 2 cents...
  21. This is me trying a different approach to getting a squad together. As im having issues right now doing so ingame. I have to believe that the more dedicated ahoy players use the forums. I class myself as a pretty good squad lead and have been playing the role pretty much exclusively while on ahoy servers. (Some of you may know of bravo squad..) Im looking for people willing to take direction but also willing to try new things as i try to improve my skills as a squad lead, in the same vein id hope that by doing this squad members gain in skill and experience also. So ill be on from 10pm tonight (uk time) for about 3 hours. chuck yer name down in here just so i know if theres interest amd hopefully ill see you in game. Im going to chuck a message to all standing BRAVO members to see if I can get some of the more experienced members on as well.
  22. I kind of knew i would get this response and i dont have anything prepared in rebuttal... What i will day is, Yes they are op, but this is based on what i see our community talking about while playing on your servers. I even know of one person who is trying to find somewhere else to play due to a few reasons one of which being the lack of thermals, he just plays that way and likes using them. Personally im not too bothered and am happy to play with iron sites. If any of you have played the game with me in my squad (and most of you have) youll know i like a challenge and try to play in a way thats challenging but fun to my squad mates. This request is born out of frustration but not of the missing op weapon accessory but of watching people leave the server and seeing it descend back into the constant churn of new users that seems to be happening again. 3 nights in a row now ive cut my aw arma3 gaming short due to very few people willing to squad and just going ham and lobbing rockets into bunches of troops, ruining any planning and forethought by me a squad lead. Granted that isnt going to change, its a public server but keeping dedicated users coming back makes this server what it should be, i may be having a bad patch but from my recent experience the churn is in full effect. 1st rule of bravo squad Big Rockets Attack Vehicles Only
  23. sometimes depends how i feel, if im in a dont really want to think mode then yep, other times maybe not. This isnt for me, just seeing a lot of people complaining about it and I just happen to know what causes it.
  24. Yes people get ridiculed for them being a bit cheaty but their in the game and some people use them, however thats not the issue. The issue is the time of year the server is currently set to, for some reason having the month set to (ive tested this) January means you cant see anything in any thermal view bar the target, i.e no terrain shows so you either get full black screen or full orange screen, setting to Jun/July ish time fixes this random issue. Now someone may try to explain some real life reasoning for this but for the sake of a setting on the server and getting people back to being able to use all scopes in the mission can we just have it set to a non dodgy month plz.
  25. not putting a downer on anything i hope, but was there supposed to be some gain to the user with this upgrade, Arma still runs sub par (exactly the same for me, i see no difference).
