  1. Recommend altering your topic, so you can add actual poll in,
  2. If you splinter squads in to more fireteams you effectively increase workload for squad leaders and squad communication. There is no advantage in splintering squads in to 3 or more fireteams. You might think it gives more tactical maneuvering, but it can easily turn in to a logistical nightmare as wounded start to pile up across the area and a single casualty can effectively cripple a small fireteam. Having strong fireteams and other squads give much more effective and reliable tactical maneuvering. You do not need a system to enforce squads to play in such splintered manner, but fireteam leaders capable of pushing their limits to splinter themselves using the buddy system. Designating them with simple code names (remembering player names and their roles can easily mix up).
  3. Could be that squad leaders should instead collaborate if platoon commanding is the problem. Ofc its always best to have someone with authority over the operations, but if it's intimidating then people should collaborate. Rather then Alpha leader taking over chain-of-command. Main squads should collaborate and communicate with one another. Other assets such as armor and aerial units should become support assets and coordinate with the main squad leaders.
  4. Many veterans had things happening in their lives, which ment less time playing ArmA. Sometimes even over doing things will make things worse. Like i brought up in previous topics is the condescending tone of many of members at the time. After several month break i came back and was treated with immense disrespect, as they thought me to be a fresh player on the EU3. So i knew how the new recruits were treated. Despite community supposing to be more about equality. So im not surprised the situation escalated and is still problem today apparently. I have done squad leading from my early days in EU3 and all they way up to gauntlet. It's not my fault you do not remember me, but im positive there are veterans whom can still recollect me doing squad leading roles. I do remember this kicking issue you brought up. As someone had problems with it, i was discussing with him about it's use of RPG13 was it called? Launcher, which highly resembled the LAW / KES launchers, which was my argument as it didn't cosmetically make me look like Russian. As well the fact it was the only light launcher available at the time, as every other launcher was extremely heavy. Other time i was kicked instantly, as i had audio issues. I could hear communications, but ingame audio. So i told i was going to fire single shot in base to test out audio. Moment after shot i was removed from the server without asking why i fired the weapon once. Hence my argument about the attitude that was occurring in EU3. No one wants to lead people with bad attitudes. Like even now im getting strong bad vibe from you again, as you don't validate any points in my arguments, nor don't seem to believe that i have done squad leading extensively. Not to mention this personally attacking me with "You were kicked once". This is not the way to go.
  5. Ryko that is the opposite of remembering. I remember the good times, even the times well before you even arrived in Ahoyworld Ryko. It was well oiled machine as majority of the players in sessions were experienced players. Then during the times leading to my quit from EU3 it had significantly less veterans being active and lot of new members coming in. The inexperience led to major disorder, as some didn't behave. But absolute worst was the constant BACKSEAT squad leading that made me give up the squad leader role entirely. Even this small comment Ryko. It breeds hostility that is just making me not wanting to come back. As you seem to remember my motives for quitting well better then i do.
  6. I had ton of hours squad leading on Ahoy servers (including modded) and the issue has never been the workload, infact it's always structurally been great, cause SL can move flexibly between fireteams or detach entirely and command at a distance. Problem for me personally was the attitude of other people that made me give up on leading and eu3 entirely. Now im having good time squad leading on game called "Squad". Considered coming back once, but gave up since no one bothered fixing the broken armasync reposetory at the time.
  7. Been pondering if there are much owners of Hearts of iron 4 for potential interest in playing online session. Would be interesting to see either pvp or co-op experiments such as coalition of minor nations.
  8. Liru i do feel obligated to mention, do NOT use "outranking members" argument ever again. There are no ranks in ahoyworld, to avoid "i am better then you" mentality. There are just members, moderators and core staff. Topic : Id suggest implementing the system for a little while and observe how it develops, if its disaster. Well we shall revert back to current system. This would be viable way of seeing if people have the patience and guts to operate with it. We know for sure the loadouts are viable, but question is can the players handle the shock of not having every possible gadget in their pocket and finding alternative ways of dealing with hostile vehicles.
  9. xsniper have you turned illiterate? The topic here is "Reinstate weight/fatigue". So stop doing this drama about mortars and anti-air. If you have issues with jets and mortars then report them in the proper topic / create one. You wanna know how i knew it was a .50cal? Cause it's the sniper rifle that would consume 50% of stamina by itself, this is what i pointed out and you somehow took offense and to verbal attacking when i pointed this out. I get, carrying missiles isn't easy, but you can do alternative like using vehicles to transport that ammunition. Also AI aircrafts are easy to bait if you wish to bring it to your base for that unlimited ammunition EDIT: I advice locking the topic, the drama is unreal right now
  10. Make up my mind? What? Think you are reading incorrectly. Im telling you with proof, you can play with new stamina system without crippling yourself with weight. This is the topic in hand, not restrictions and mortars. People need to learn moderation in order to play with the system. Honestly taking down enemy aerial units is not really a job for the ground troops, maybe VTOL is easier to shoot down. But jet i much harder to take down with ground-to-air missiles and often run out missiles if you can't get the proper angle. Rather then getting salty about the .50cal then care to explain, which "sniper rifle" you are using that is taking that 50% stamina off (with no ammo)? As i pointed out even a .50cal can get his stamina up to 20-25% with decent gear, enough to do his sniping.
  11. My conclusions aren't based on 100% assumptions, but deductions and testing. Nor it is focused on you fyi, but the public. I went to the editor and used ASP and other long range weaponry to test wide range of weapon weights to test your argument. I had decent amount of ammunition, 2x smokes, side arm + 2 mags, "bandages" and basic equipment such as NVG's. Only logical conclusion i could make is that people are using excess amount of ammunition, protection and gadgets to reach that low stamina you are talking about. Such as backpack is nothing but dead weight for a sniper, specially if you have a .50cal. This is why i am harshly criticizing these comments suggesting how "stamina system is unplayable" for most. Also giving positive validation to implement the stamina system on the server, so it's not impossible for people to adjust to it. To solve this problem is to have people make sacrifices on the equipment they carry, i see people use things like NVG's on broad daylight and massive backpacks they do not even need, when they use high capacity protective vest. Weights also apply to other classes, people just often want to have everything, just in case. Missile launcher is probably most challenging weapon, but you could do "single use" method to get that extra stamina if you need it. Doesn't really matter if iv played with you or not, iv seen the public and i personally play light and experienced it.
  12. If you dont have a single friend, then maybe you shouldn't be ramboing certain classes. Think your issue with this is the fact you think .50cal is the only sniper rifle in the game. I was able to make 50% stamina available on ASP sniper rifle (average rifle), 75% on lightest sniper rifles and 20-25% on .50cal. Sniper doesn't need backpack, he doesn't need considerable armour if any. So if you need that extra gadgetry you need to downgrade your main weapon. Also DONT forget, if you break line of sight with the AI. They will still fire at your last known position. I was reminded on this, when i engaged them in the dense jungles of Tanoa.
  13. Stamina doesn't really punish marksmen or snipers. Marksmen aren't suppose to hoard equipment and snipers are suppose to setup before engagement, not run around and take quick shots. Supporting their gun on objects, terrain and on their spotter if necessary + Spotter should carry some of his ammo to lighten the load. AT in other hand does get's a bit punished, but for good reason, it's not like missile are light as air to be carried around. What comes to incoming firesupport. Well realistically speaking you ain't really be running anywhere but taking cover instead.
  14. Yes, yes you can do this with TFAR as well.
  15. Cause it is simple. You install and are pretty much good to go and once you are in the server you are automatically at the correct squad freq. at least i always ended up in correct one. Issue was some people changed their squad freq for no reason and f*cked it up. Same thing applied in long ranges as well. Once you move to leadership positions or piloting, thats when you need to know the long-range setups. Beaucracy behind ACRE to apply admission through forums to get TS access to be able to play in EU3 is so overly complicated approach that i gave up on EU3 in protest.
  16. I have to give the vote to TFAR. It's simplicity will be much better choice for attracting new members.
  17. I wear light equipment regularly and i have sustained multiple injuries on single mission without dying. As well shot CSAT troops with 7.62 caliber with 1-2 shots. Think it's desync you are experiencing when they refuse to die, since iv shot AI's with .50 cal and they just twitch and ignore the hit.

    VTOL Suggestion

    This doesn't prove anything.
  19. The reality is that your are much more effective with few mags, then carrying dozen. Might as well make them face the reality.
  20. thermal sights and goggles are for wimps. It takes lot of the fun out the game and makes you just a dick trying to beat to kill everyone before anyone els. Thus in my opinion such equipment should not be implemented for use. Cant find the enemy without thermals? Git Gud
  21. Zeus is something that shouldn't be handed out randomly. Even by just accident someone might cause issues for everyone. Having more Zeus action would be great, but just not handed out randomly to people.
  22. Thinking along the lines of PvP in Tanoa. King of the hill maybe?
  23. Iv thought VAS as inefficient method of assembling gear. It's UI is tiny and buggy as shit. No saving system in the world can make up for that. Besides i often like to change my gear. Mostly just weapon i use, to mix things up a bit.
  24. This is nothing compared to Battlefield 3, 4 and probably 1. (alienation to the max). Why do you doubt even less then 50% will purchase apex? At the moment i have 18 steam friends that have purchased apex. 34 friends that purchased the previous DLC bundle. I think you are under estimating the potential popularity of the Tanoa. Even if only 50% here would get it, on public side of things. There will be ton of other people playing apex content. This is why i pointed out that moderator team can figure out the numbers and make decisions to bring out Tanoa available. Id personally find it silly to just completely ignore Tanoa. All it would do is make everyone go play on other communities servers.
  25. It all comes down to the moderator team and so forth. Potentially one server could be converted to Tanoa. If general population is low on EU3 as you put it, then what is the harm in Tanoa? If anything new change in the enviroment can invigorate the server population. Perhaps setup a poll to inquiry how many community members purchased the Apex DLC or planning to. So can see if modded server is even valid choice for such conversion. As for public servers, well. If there is still two running then one of them could be converted to vanilla apex. Running a public vanilla apex server isn't a problem in terms of population either. Weekly or longer map changes could also be implemented. (Simply playing Tanoa on gamenights can be frustrating cause you might not even be able to attend)
